Very well put together video. Super detailed. I started a few b4 watching this video, but I think I'll stop my method and use this one Do you have a "whats next" video? Nvm....just found it.... also, approximately how much Gil did it require to buy all the ingredients?
begging for a continuation of this video, this guide literally made me love crafting/gathering. have all my jobs at lvl20 but i genuinely don't know what to do from there lol. would love a road to lvl50 perhaps? also a quick question i just got myself two extra retainers total is now 4, miner, botanist, and a Thaumaturge, what would you suggest my last one be? another battle class for example truly love the content keep em coming
Thanks for the kind words, this guide in particular probably took longer than any other video ive made. I hope part 2 is helpful as it doesnt hold your hand as much but does guide you on what to do and where to go. I highly recommend looking at my gil guides once you start getting into the 70's if that is of any interest to you. Best of luck out there.
@@Manchild_Gaming did indeed watch the part 2 and was very helpful! i did discover your channel through your gil guides and lemme tell you those are the best i have ever watched on TH-cam, can not wait for what you make when dawntrails drops. thanks for the response
Isn't is better to level both crafters/gatherers in tandem? The gear from crafting helps the gathering jobs and leveling gathering jobs gives materials for the crafting job quests.
Before 20 I would argue no, but heres why. As shown in the guide like 99% of all the materials can be bought right there at the crafting guild. The back and fourth will slow you down soooo much that saving a few pennies wont make a difference. Another benefit is, now you are gathering for experience instead of materials. Past 20 yes i totally subscribe to leveling everything together.
I just started playing yesterday. Do each crafting jobs need individual crafting gear or can it be bottle up as in all jobs that create use “crafting gear” and all jobs that gather use “gather and perception gear”. Therefore only needing 2 sets of crafting gear to cover all jobs?
Welcome to ffxiv. All crafters can share gear and all gatherers can share gear, only the weapons will differ. I'm glad to hear you are so new and want to dive into crafting and gathering already 😀
@@Manchild_Gaming ok that makes trying to make gear for all of them easier lol. I appreciate the response and thank you for the warm welcome to the game!
Fishing... Usually, I hate it, but I casually leveled my alt with Ocean Fishing within a week :D Probably wont touch it again, but it was fun while it lasted. I even got the shark mount, so thats neat ^.^ Wouldn't it be more effective, to level gatherers before your crafters? That way you can save on the materials for your crafts...
I like ocean fishing but yeah I unless there was a good way to make gil or something, or another mount I dont have much a reason to go in there now adays. You could do gatherers first, but the raw material cost from vendors is dirt cheap. The disadvanage is you wont have all the crafted gathering gear, which is ok too but if you wanna knock out ocean fishing in 1 round then good gear really helps. But theres no wrong way to do that id say, little pros and little cons. One last point i did consider. When making this guide, I had in mind that this is alot of players first impression of Crafting and Gathering. To me gathering is very boring and not challenging at all, I wanted players to have a good first impression by tackling crafting first as i feel its alot more fun.
why was "dont skip BSM" warning a thing in the first place ? it is next to ARM anyway and it crafts tools for your other jobs as well and in HQ if you can do it. i would never think about skipping a crafter job, it is self sufficient to do all DoH/DoL jobs a subtle hint: you better learn CUL earlier, because food acts as exp boost (always does !) and some food is on top a crafter/gatherer boost. so keep some food in your inventory at all time, use it and THEN swing the hammer/saw/whathaveyou and also your CUL pan+knife. it will add up to your exp and results.
It was a warning to not skip the blacksmithing portion of the video not the job itself. I used blacksmith as an example for many learning points. The jobs can be done in any order. With some pros and cons as you said
so helpful! Tysm for this seriously!
Video is awesome thanks for putting in the work and keep up the grind brother!
Appreciate it!
