Thank you so much Alex 🤗. You played a significant role in making me pass IELTS with an overall of 8.0......L 8.5, R 7.5, W 7.0 and S 8.0.... I sincerely give God all the glory 🙌. If I can do it, you can do it too. Trust me....study hard and pray harder 🙏. God will do it for you too. Amen 🙏
I used to mark my maps from the last marked building to the next. Now I understand most of the stuffs are marked from the point of entry. Thanks a lot!!
After analysing this video I came up with the following tips, based on my understanding ; 1: Highlight the names and heed the points of the compass. 2: Take the pencil and move it according to the script of the listening in the map 3: Imagination plays an important role in scoring the maximum in Map questions. so just imagine the speaker is talking to you. 4: Practice the map questions from TH-cam - I found it very effective, especially if you are preparing for the computer-based test, it is the easiest way to access tons of exercises. 5: Do heed the comments of the popular videos like this one and probably you would get great people sharing their experience.
@@crissymaralit4821, so I got my result last week (6.5 for listening around 29 correct as I calculated after exam). What surprised me was that they brought a reading passage from one of the previous Cambridge books as the listening questions which was about the coffee production process, this is the one they brought; www.ielts-mentor.com/reading-sample/academic-reading/1024-ielts-academic-reading-the-story-of-coffee. My suggestion would be to first, learn important vocabulary about maps, locations, secondly, practice the Cambridge books ( PDF), finally take notes using pen and pencil not computer notes because each such note taken is a lesson which is, in fact, a mistake you made. And finally, everyday open that note and read and kinda memorise it ,so you understand what mistakes did u make and what not to repeat. In my opinion, Your focus should be more on the multiple-choice questions ( 1 choice or multiple choice) as they are in every single listening exam. Therefore, the probability of map questions is quite low compared to that of MCQs or fill in the blanks.
Hi Alex I just want to say that I had tree weeks to prepare for the IELTS and thanks to you also I achieved band 7.5 to all the tasks. Good bless you for all your work. I'm very grateful.
Here are many teachers teach us,but Alex you teach us very practically....❤️ Your teaching level is very high.everyone should understand very easily...😍😍
Thank you very much! This is good content for any IELTS test takers! The only time maps really mess me up is when they talk about directions in the terms of cardinal points. i.e. north south east west. I keep getting confused whether the west is meant to be right or left. North and South are easy just up and down. One way how i tackle this issue is remembering that I am Asian and most people who come from the US and Europe are usually coined the term westerners. So it is easy for me to derive that west means left and east means right. Maybe this might help a few people who usually have the same issues remembering directions like me. :)
Thank you E2 IELTS for all your help. All your videos are informative and educational. They truly have helped me study last minute for the IELTS test and as a result, I have successfully achieved the score I needed. Thank you for all the help and effort you put into your videos for people like us. 🙏🏻
Guys this video is no BS at all. Alex, I loved this method of using a pointer (Finger/pencils in exam) on Maps. I saw this video and practices few videos on YT. It greatly helped me on my exam. TY Alex.
Great video Alex the way you demonstrates the Map in the second part of the video by moving the cursor with the audio is fabulous... Thanks a lot Alex..👍
Hey, I did a listening test yesterday and i went crazy so i am here. This one is pretty easy. Just let you know guys, in my listening test I heard a lot of times '' JUNCTION '' and it went me crazy, literally. Look it up in your main language. Plus, in the test, the recording will be faster. Damn.
Thanks Alex, your teaching really simplified maps/labeling practice…was so scared but after this class,my confidence boosted cos I find it easy now reading a map.

Ultimate way to trick your brain to understand the mapping is Just visualize in your brain: put a small human on the map and imagine him walking as you listen. I just found this out now. THIS TRICK IMPROVED MY UNDERSTANDING TO THE MAX! like if you find this useful.
