I can see a lot of understanding from you for this events and empathy.
Poland has really sad history but even when we were in horrible situation, we always try to help others(in general).
There is even interesting history about how Polish soldiers joined Haiti in Haitian Revolution against France when they were told
that there was a revolt of prisoners in Saint-Domingue.
Upon arrival and the first fights, the Polish platoon soon discovered that what was actually taking place in the colony was
a rebellion of slaves fighting off their French masters for their freedom.
So a lot of Polish soldiers join Haitians( despite fact that theye were people without relation with Poland) in this revolution as they know this pain from partitions of Poland and know the price of freedom.

Just a fun-fact: Stalin, before he became the leader of the USSR was a commander in the Polish-Soviet war of 1919-1921 which the USSR lost. That defeat is believed to have stopped the bolshevik's revolution from spilling into the West. Stalin held one hell of a grudge against Poland because of that.

Speaking of Haiti: if you're interested you can check about Poles there :D
Shortly: we hoped that Napoleon would help us fight Prussia and get our freedom back (Prussia, Austria and Russia just divided our country between themselves) so when he sent our soldiers to Haiti we went. There, our soldiers realised that the battle that they were supposed to fight was in reality quelling slaves' uprising. Poles didn't like that and joined the slaves instead and fought against France.

you said a lot of wise words. many Polish citizens are against the invasion of Palestine. Unfortunately, 90% of the Polish government is not made up of Poles. Regards.
