Metal in a log destined for the chainsaw is THE BANE of many a saws users.😢

Finally a couple that uses the word turd. My girlfriend & myself use that word more than often when describing something or one another. 😅😂

Nice job buddy, most people have no idea how much skill it takes to buck a big nasty one like that that's jammed up in the limbs etc

The one thing I notice in videos about falling and bucking in BC is the mandatory hard hat with attached face shield and ear protection. I thought about that as a I watched chips hitting his face. My hearing is not good from too many years of shooting, race cars and chain saws with no protection. Nice to see some big Doug Fir still around.

We wear ear plugs and have the option to run those hard hats, just a choice we make.

Doing tree work in the UK wearing full PPE is the norm, you'd quickly lose work if you didn't have chainsaw boots, trousers and helmet with face guard and ear defenders on. Often surprised it's not like that elsewhere.

In some places we have a government that still allows us freedom to choose things for ourselves. It is getting bad here too, but they leave much if safety in the hands of business owners in the cases where insurance companies haven't gotten to them first

Not only nasty but dirty. I was a saw filer in a sawmill. They will be cussing when they run that wire through the mill too.

You are very good at your work, I want to ask you why you cut your pants close? Thank you very much.

Because once holes start to tear in them around the gems they present a snag hazard. So I cut them off and if I am snagged I can tear though it without being caught

A lot of work went into that one. The first section looked really short. Were you just cutting out defect or will that piece be used too?

It was a forked top tree, here's the video of Phil cutting it down. How to fell an oversized CO-DOMINANT tree
th-cam.com/video/ndf3C5CJNa0/w-d-xo.html so the stems need to be bucked off

What's on your thoughts about safety equipments? as (small tree) loggers in my country look like astronauts.

Hard hat, ear protection, eye protection when it's warranted, chaps and a well running saw.
