Just came across this video and was surprised to see that I am in it. I was there taking photos outside the Sulby Glen Hotel. (At 44 sec, far right near the road signs, under the tree). A great place to watch if you want to see the TT from the fastest part of the course from only a couple of meters away. I managed to get a few decent shots but needed a shutter speed of at least 1/2500 sec to avoid just getting a blur ( I am not a professional photographer). The weather was beautiful, just a pity so many visitors probably missed it after the Senior had to be postponed from the Friday due to the weather, hence why there were so few people at this spot in this video (it's usually packed). Anyway, great video Crispen Engineer, and not just because I am in it ;-).
I was there some 30 plus years ago when Mick Grant was clocked at 192 M.P.H. on the 750 Kawasaki with a rear brake caliper whose retaining bolt had somehow worked free and was dangling a couple of inches above the road and just being held by the hose pipe.
Thats it mick grant was the one way back on a 2 stroke he jumps the famous hill jump...flys like 200 feet at like 160...then the ftont is drufting higher an higher he gets it back level just as he lands it perfect...i was like i need to ride this place...u know the story the hill jump long gone....for obvious reasons...but it was still on a F2 F1bike to fly that far...truly flying into unknown...the video rented from Blockbuster....take it to the limit...the ultimate motorcycle odessey.....blew me away..twice as much riding as on any sunday....way better music 5 Foreigner tunes...Star rider...feels like the first time....an more
It's so awesome and crazy that this race is still a thing given how dangerous it is! All those concrete fences with sharp right angle edges and brick walls etc just look like death to me! lol
I know it is extremely fast and shocking, but it looks like the fastest bikes I've seen on TT videos. Honestly didn't you accelerate that scenes around 01:22 ? Could be easy to check for someone who knows the length of that road part. It rather look like 400mph, top gun.. Or maybe a wide angle effect or just the fastest bike of internet?
@@crispinengineer I'd love to see the TT and visit IoM. I'd like to come with a bike but we drive to the right in my country, this is an other challenge...
Not speeded up. Watch the people and other items in the video they are are moving at normal speed. 200MPH is fast when you right there. Watched Motorsports all my life.
I think there is, or was. You can see in the documentary movie about 2010, near the end after Connor Cummins crash, there are bike's paint traces on what I remember like cats eyes, on the mountain part. Anyway there is also white paint, dust, tiny little rocks, moisture, enough to me to fear and sweat! :-)
Oh wow. Thanks for your reply. I haven’t been on a bike for years but even at a moderate speed those cat’s eyes can cause a little wheel wobble. Dread to think of bouncing over one at 200mph.
Was just that the slow motion vids have no sound or they sound like the devil taking a dump. So I thought it might be better with some music. Do you think I should take the music out and leave it silent?
Oh I know but the slow mo vids sound like an alien with tooth ache so I thought I'd put some music over it. Could only find this music or some country and western. But what do you think should I leave it silent.?

2006 I think Bruce Anstey was clocked at 206 mph down sulby straight
You have to start moving your head before they arrive to track them because the sound lags the bike.

No it's that fast best way of knowing is, next year get a ferry ticket and go watch you'll see for yourself it is awsome ..

I race and the coolest thing about a real superbike is the race paint an stickers...200 u cant see nothing....that close with a camera...
