You seemed to be confused as to what to call the people from Saxony. They are indeed (even to this day) called Saxons, which is the same as the English (Anglo-Saxons), because Angles and Saxons were both Germanic tribes that settled in England. That's also why English is a Germanic language and still has a lot of words that are very similar to their German counterparts.
