- Kanchanaburi is a town in west Thailand. It’s most famous for the Death Railway, built during WWII. The train line crosses over the River Khwai which is lined with floating hotels.
Today is the first day in Kanchanaburi and to start the Kanchanaburi trip we went to Rakkanna noodle & cafe which has really nice noodles at street food prices. We then checked into River Kwai View Hotel which overlooks the death railway bridge.

One of my favourite temples in Thailand. We also went to one of the coffee shops in the rice fields, in fact my friend and I were just talking this morning about a return visit.
That is a very beautiful temple they have there and what a nice relaxing place.
Kanchanaburi, where I visited The Death Railway and Cemetery back in 1972 while on R&R from Vietnam Thank you for taking me back. Yes, the River Kwai. I am sort of disappointed its all built up along the Bridge now. It was much better when it was isolated a place of reflection

I lived in Kanchanaburi for a short time. It's an interesting, beautiful place. But,...too many mosquitoes on the tennis courts (if they are not locked) and everywhere! I should be traveling around more too. Getting scary again with the new strains. I took a nice trip on the train up to the waterfalls. You might like that, very peaceful.
Nice one. We stayed in the same hotel about 3 weeks ago. Nice and good location.
We had a fabulous time.roadside restaurant serve yummy sumptuous meal. Hiking on 7 level waterfall is exciting and very fulfilling
I love northern Kanchanaburi but it gets bloody hot in the summer, Kanchanaburi city has a lot of history and was interesting to explore but very tourist centered. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼😎✌🏼

That restaurant downstairs on the right is great, I still have a glass from them...😍... and great place btw, dont forget to go to the waterfalll with the 5 or 8 floors...swimming in the coldest water there...enjoy both..🤟

I've been there and I was impressed, lovely place I've travelled all over Thailand. I would love to live there for the rest of my life.
2:28 -> At Sai's left side, at the end corner is a brown ceramic Urn. It contains the ashes of a sacred buffalo that protected the shrine from severe weather and all forms of violence.
The buffalo was struck by lightening and instantly cremated so its ashes could protect the shrine as long as they were kept close by.

Hello Adam and Sai, I have been to Kanchanaburi two times and stayed at a hotel about 1kilometer up the river as you were pointing to your left. There is a temple across the river when you cross the bridge. My friend took me to a number of wats and I saw the huge dam about an hour drive away from the city.

I hope you found the museum a few buildings down from where you were staying. Inside there is the remains of the original bridge and loads of relics of the Japanese occupation. Stay safe 🤗😎😁🙏

If you like a bit of fishing and relaxing theres a hotel fishing retreat only has 2 rooms but nid and her husband marco will take care of you cook lovely food in the evening for you.s ime sure they would love some custom after the virus the place is called wang pla fishing retreat.if you dicide to do a blog on it please mention me to marco and nid.have fun guys
