Only the comment section shows the awesome people that lives in Canada, no bad words no trolls no stupid comments only politeness and opinions that worth reading... You have great people Canada
I just moved from Toronto to Houston. Lived in Toronto my whole life until now and watching this makes me feel so homesick! You think you'll be happy to leave the cold and the snow behind but believe me, Christmas just doesn't feel like Christmas when it's 20 degrees outside. I miss my Canada so much
I remember a couple years back we had a snow storm so bad power was out for several days, my entire family had to sleep in our living room next to the fire place, because it was to cold to sleep any where else. We live on a dead end of a small town and we are kinda the last people to get plowed out so the snow built up so bad we had piles of snow as tall as our house, I remember we also had a thermometer on a tree in our front yard, lol it froze at -30°C it was cold, gotta love Canada 😀
I’ve lived here all of my 15 years, and I can tell you the storms like this are extremely rare. Americans had this crazy stereo type that the second you cross the border is 10 feet of snow, would you believe me if I told you many American cities get way more snow than Toronto does? Well it’s true! If you look on a map were actually quite far south, located in southern Ontario, just because of geography and the Lake affect snow, Buffalo gets hammered every year, and we get absolutely nothing. Two years ago buffalo got over 5 feet of snow, Buffalo is only 1.5 hours away by car, during that blizzard it was sunny and 10°C here, my point is that not every city in Canada this covered in snow, and all of Canada has nice boiling hot humid summers, and that’s the way I like it! I swear to God I was born in the wrong country, I hate cold, and love the heat, the hotter the better. My spells is from El Salvador, every time we go there, not just him but the entire family that lives there bitches constantly about the eat, while I just sit there and say give me more! I’ve been there eight times now, the last time we went was in January. We left Toronto international airport and it was -22°C, which is exceptionally cold for us, we normally hover around -2 or-3 that time of year, When the plane touched down at San Salvador’s international airport it was a glorious 35°C, I literally after spending over a month there, was in tears leaving, I did not want to go back to Toronto! The tears part is because my spouses family are absolutely incredible loving people, but the country is also beautiful and warm. Don’t believe everything you hear in the media, because I and his wife as you can imagine, I’m so white I’m clear, I stick out like a sore thumb down there, and never once have I ever encountered any problems, quite the opposite, everybody goes out of their way to help you. But back to Toronto and snow…… Normally are winters are mild with very little snow. Yes we can get incredibly cold and every couple of years we may get one snowstorm that dumps about a foot of snow, but other than that, it’s actually pretty mild buy Canadian standards. Other cities like Montreal, Quebec city, Halifax, Winnipeg a.k.a. winter peg, Edmonton, Calgary get absolutely brutally cold winters with a ton of snow, Vancouver on the other hand is a very wet but mild climate and very seldom ever get snow. I was there in February a few years ago and it was 20° and sunny, while here in Toronto it was -20 and snowing! If I had a choice of any city in Canada, I guess I would stay here, because I love big cities and skyscrapers, and we are the biggest city in Canada with the most amount of skyscrapers, but is far as natural beauty? Vancouver wins hands-down, they even have palm trees, real life palm trees all year long! If you’ve ever been to Seattle, it’s a very similar topography, and almost a denticle weather, then Cooper has two seasons, sunny, and six months of rain a.k.a. liquid sunshine! No stop showing videos of snow, I don’t want to see it!, If I was a wealth of your man I’d move down south, somewhere in central America! It’s bad enough that we are now entering winter, don’t show us videos of snow, it’s depressing enough as it is! If it were not for the free healthcare, I’d be out of here and down self ASAP! I’m guessing whoever posted this is one of those really annoying people that actually love the snow, more power to you, if you want snow move up to the north west territories! I want heat, thank God Toronto at least has the worlds largest underground shopping complex, so I can go shopping wearing shorts and a T-shirt without ever having to go outside.
Joining a social Ski Club is a great way to embrace winter. When stuff like this happens you will be happy not annoyed. I board with a great bunch of North Toronto ski club members almost every weekend
I lived in Southern Ontario for 44 years. There are many, many things I miss about it but snow and cold are not on the list. I like wearing short sleeves on Christmas, I shake my fist at the sky on the rare occasions I see a snowflake and hate the thought we might get a couple of weeks of below freezing weather all winter.
I really enjoyed watching this video! Greetings from out near Lawrence/Weston Rd. I shoveled snow twice today and I still have to go out and shovel once more. I love living in T.O.!
I remember that day, where I live it's a big hill on Finch Avenue East and there was a bus stuck from 9 or 10 that morning and finally got up the hill at 2 am the next morning. I have a video on my channel of the bus stuck.
Amazing. If I ever have the courage I would love to move to Ontario and experience this weather. In ireland we hardly ever get much snow at all. Can only remember 3 white xmas's in my entire life.
Thats the funny thing with snow, when its bright outside it doesnt look too good but when the lamps beging to shine and it gets dark then its really cozy
Wow! In my country we can only experience 10 Celsius only in 1 city, the Baguio city here in Philippines. And it's only a month of December and January. Our normal temperature in my country is between 30-35 degree celsius or sometimes we can get 35-38 degrees too hot and i hate it. You're lucky with your country. Wish our country was like that.
No wukkas. I fly next week, will keep you posted. Pretty sure ill come back saying 'its awesome' come over. I visited last year, came back to Sydney and said I've gotta get out of this town..
I don't know if that reply was from a local, and without sounding like a know it all, it's incorrect. During the winter, temperatures average about -10 degrees celcius in the Toronto area. "Cold" days, and usually days where storms like this persist, temperatures often drop into the -15 to -20, sometimes as low as -25 range. However, in recent years, temperatures are warming up. Summers hover around +25 degrees, and are frequently hitting the +30 to +40 range, different though, is less humidity.
It's so hard to get citizenship in Canada that I almost given up. The weather would be nothing to me. I live in northern Finland and I just wear a sweatshirt and pants. It's also very common to go winter swimming. Where we swim in the icy arctic circle rivers or ponds.
yinstube yes it does, if you have British passport and aged between 18-30, you can get a working holiday visa and become Canadian citizen 3 years later. How do I know this ? because I qualified for it, I just need money for it.
yinstube Its not hard to move to Canada as USA is, and not like every single person who moves to Canada or immigrate anywhere else are doctors or lawyers or whatever. Even if you don't have any qualifications or skills in building, or electrician, you can still move there. The officer from the Canadian embassy told me that I qualified for the working holiday visa, after 3 years I become Canadian citizen or permanent residence whatever it is. Canada does welcome people, as long as if your not a threat, working age, country of residence, language, your all good. People go to USA and Australia, why is it a concern about Canada ?
yinstube Im only entitled to working holiday visa but 3 years later you can become a citizen, because you have actually done something in Canada for 1 year. If you have qualifications or skills then that's an advantage. USA, Canada and Australia are the countrys people go to and become a resident there after, I know it happened in Australia and USA.
Just play Hockey and become really good at it, then refuse to play for Finland internationally and demand you will only play for Canada, Canada would give you citizenship immediately.
Then go to Sweden. this doesn't look that bad you just have to get to work and will be ok. My grandad swipes tons of snow every year from his roof and he is 80 years old.
It is below, maybe 3-5 Celsius, I don't think it is colder during snow storms near the great lakes; often after the snow storm the temperature drops down to 10-15 degree below...
Ottawa tends to be on average colder then Toronto, some years there is more snow, but there also tends to be more ice storms in Ottawa which is further north. Its a standard thing in Ottawa for cars to have block heaters with an outlet you plug into your house so its easy to start the car in the morning. The weather has varied greatly the past few years across Ontario. Toronto gets the lake effect snow storms and sometimes very heavy snow storms.
It's a misconception that it must be really cold for it to snow. In fact, it can be too cold for snow. I am not from Toronto but this looks like a cold snow - I see some drifting and snow blowing around. This would be decent snow for skiing or tobogganing. The snow that comes down when it is warmer is the sticky stuff that makes snowmen possible but shoveling a nightmare. It is really heavy, wet snow. But hey - I don't see the militia guys - where are they when Toronto needs them???
sono siciliano e sono stato a toronto molte volte.anche se da noi c'è sempre caldo e non nevica mai, amo il freddo polare di toronto e la neve..ciao a tutti dalla sicilia
***** As someone who lives in Eastern Canada, this shit is pretty scary man! :P but we can also get some nasty weather too.. although not as cold as on Mars :P
gary blake What is shown in this video is pretty much just a common snowstorm.. although it's more snow than we usually get in a short period of time, it's nothing uncommon :P cars being stuck in snow is just another Tuesday for us
Does it always snow like this in winters in Toronto?! :O My mom and litter brother and sister just moved to Toronto in Canada, this will be their first winter there and they're very worried about the cold, especially since we come from a desert where it hardly rains :/
In Canada it only snows a lot in the winter :) I live in Mississauga which is very near Toronto.SO you need some snow pants a jacket and a hat and you should be fine :)

Here in France, everything is stuck with just about 3cm of snow ...
Awesome video...shows the severity...so glad it's over!
I remember this. Every half hour there was some car stuck on my street...

This may be crazy but this video is making me miss T.O.

Now that's some serious SNOW! We don't see many snowfalls like that anymore.
Thats the funny thing with snow, when its bright outside it doesnt look too good but when the lamps beging to shine and it gets dark then its really cozy
Please don't cry Dutch friends; Toronto snow is melting promptly...
watching from dubai where it is sunny throughout the year ....
Dubai is million times better than these countries
alhasani mohammed what makes u say so?
I'd rather live in a place like Toronto than Dubai. At least you can actually go outside in Toronto. In Dubai it's too hot to go outside.
this background music very nice i can feel im on the canada so nice

Thank you!
I want to see it! Thanks for the info.. Wish i can go to Canada someday and experience the cold relaxing weather.
It was about -10 Celcius actually. I have pictures that were taken on the day of this storm showing the temperature gauge in our backyard.
it snows much less when it is colder, about -5 degrees Celsius is perfect temp for a snow storm

No its not, its more easier moving to Canada than USA. If your British citizen, your alright to move to Canada. Im going to move there in the future.

moving to Ottawa in a couple of years. Are the winters generally like that or is that a heavier than usual snowfall?
It's pretty average kinda light
