- Layout with HO Scale Model Trains and Slot Cars with my new Crown Vic Police Interceptors; I do not have the RR crossing in because rthat actually is sort of inconvenient after a while (had it before) Slot cars such as AFX, Tomy Super G, Tomy Turbo, Tyco-Mattell, Autoworld, AFX, Lifelike slot cars, and AFX Lifelike track and Parma controllers. I got this stuff from
Train engines shown were from Trainworld New York NY
Slot Cars & Slot Car Track from Scale Auto Redmond WA

Whoever built this, my hearty congratulations: not only cars and trains in motion, but all the background--trees, buildings, etc.--adds a rich verisimilitude rare in this hobby of longstanding.
Thank you for your comment.

You're welcome. I hope you are doing such dioramas for a living, earning a salary commensurate to your extraordinary skills. You are good enough to be building them for motion picture shoots!
Thanks again for your comments and reply. I am having fun and always trying to improve, experiment and innovate.
Damn!, that's as cool as all get out!!! Thanks for sharing, love it!👍👍💓💓
Thank you very much
I have a bunch of aurora slot car stuff from the 60s. With 3 railroad crossing. I haven't had them up in awhile, but they bring back great memories.
Very cool!
great seeing cars and trains together ....Wish they made cars as small to scale then road and trains would be perfect realistic ...But I loved it
Yes I wish that too. and scale speeds
Nicely done. I tried this years ago, and it was not easy to do, I used the Aurora T-Jets cars & trucks. My solution years later (after I sold all of my slot cars) was to make some radio control vehicles in HO scale. They can drive on any surface road I put on my layout without getting power from the road, it just takes a lot more skill to drive them.
Thanks for sharing
I really like this thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching
Nice layout
Thanks!
Me and my dad do this all the time
Thanks for your comment.
Really nice video. Brings back memories for me.
Glad you enjoyed it
Oh boy that's great!
Great job pulling this off! I'd love to have a layout with slot cars at some point but I'd probably paint the slot track the same color as the other roads.
Well, some ar concrdete painted and some I have are "blacktop" or asphalt
For a slower speed, you could try a power supply for the slot cars that has a voltage lower than the 12 volts that is typically used for HO slot cars. When HO slot cars debuted in the early 1960s, there were models made for racing and for operating automobiles on an HO train layout. The old Aurora terminal tracks had 4 terminals so you could wire the track for 2-way traffic. The chassis were originally sized to fit an HO (1/87th scale) sedan body. Later, the racing operation became more popular and race cars are smaller than sedans. So that is how the 1/64th scale race car came about - to fit on that same size chassis. Lionel had a line of both HO and 1/32 scale slot cars in the 1960s. Lionel even offered a road/rail crossing for O27 gauge trains and 1/32 scale slot cars!
Thank you very much for your comment. I have planned to do as you advised, to get 2 variable voltage separate transformers. I do wish the HO cars were real 1/87th.
Nice layout.
Thanks!
That was pretty neat!
great layout
Thanks
Very neat 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Houston Rush HR ,lol
Wow that's a long train ~ I kept wondering 'how much more can there be?'
I ilke 8 car trains, my siding limit.
Great layout! How big is it?
i always thought the afx slot cars would be to big for HO model trains, i wanna go the same route and wanted to make it look as good as yours :)
They are too big, but they have entertained for many years
S SCALE IS THE SAME 1/64 AS SLOT CARS
Is it possible to gear the cars down so they go closer to a scale speed and it is less a speedway. I love what owner did though.
Thanks for your comment. I would like to find out how to do that. I am looking into it.
Nice layout! Love the U.P. consist! Any way to reverse the polarity of the slot cars so one can travel the opposite direction of the other?
I think it could be done, but the kids want to race
Is there a way to make the cars move slowly? Great work!
I wish I knew
nice layout. What make are the buildings you used, I have my base (8ft x4ft) and plan for a basic double oval train track , inner and outer, with the slot cars going around it. Would like a crossing but I gather there can be issues.. also what make are the cars?.
wait a minute, that is ho scale trains, but aren't those ho cars too? you said slot? or you meant ho scale?
They call the slot cars HO gauge because the track contacts are spaced in HO gauge. The slot cars are 1/64 scale, HO is 1/87 scale.
The speed of the slot cars is unrealistic for model trains.
They should have scale speed.
That is correct, I wish they would do scale speed, not 200 mph
In this video mostly AFX Tomy
look up scaleauto for cars list
also autoworld slot cars
like from Lukcy Bob's slot cars (look it up, since no links ar eallowed in replies)

used ot have crossing\still do but l left it out this time
What scale are the cars ? 1:64 ?
1/64th or maybe bigger that
What scale size are the slot cars?
I think they are larger than 1/64
