Bishop sheen used to talk about the brokenness of our country. He died in 1979. So yes it’s been coming for a while
Fr Charles Murr said that God is our only hope . He said that things are so bad in the Church and in the world that it’s going to take God intervening to get us out of this.
The world is definitely becoming more evil. The people you see and deal with in every day life aren't necessarily more evil, but on the whole they are more stained by evil.
I don’t doubt that America will become MORE evil. But i can’t even imagine how the 50 states can remain United under one governing authority. We are so completely morally, and monetarily bankrupt, where is ANY kind of order going to come from?
It has already happened. Each state is its own autonomous entity. The central portion of the country known as the Bible belt is rooted in moral values. California is atheist and it shows. There are very small communities influenced by Christian principles. Atheism has a chokehold on the Constitution which no longer functions. In California it is a lawless free for all no man made laws and natural God given laws are unrecognized.

Any one of the current moral depredations would be enough to demonstrate a turn to evil, and this society is embracing them all! Let it all be a reminder that our strength is in Jesus Christ, not in politics or cultural tradition. Believe in Him, and pray unceasingly!

Our native country is heaven. We need to accept that nations come and go. Many Catholics refused to acknowledge that rome was crumbling around them, but late rome was far less evil than the American empire. If God didn't spare rome in all it's glory, why would he miraculous save the American state when it does everything rome did and more?
And us christians cannot even be bothered to fast...

It seems to me that much of the "revivalists" are wanting a return to a time when we were comfortable as Christians. Don't get me wrong I would like to live in a comfortable society but I hope it's not an idol and I'm afraid we've let it overcome us like a drug.
Please bring on D.C. Schindler to talk about the American political system or perhaps Kenneth Craycraft who came out with a new book recently (Citizens Yet Strangers). America, and on larger scale, the west, grew into prominence because of it's anchoring to Christiandom. If and when we regain that footing, where we walk in the light with our Lord day by day, then we will no longer be in decline. Heaven help us all. 🙏🏻

I agree with this man. I am convinced that Mt. 28:18 where Christ declares He holds dominion over Heaven and earth needs to be forthright and openly declared. There's the starting point. If He is not placed first and by some miracle the downward trajectory we are on is reversed by the outcome of an election for example then people will credit the new POTUS as their savior and not Christ. Get it? Continuing in the political realm as an example, the first politician that declares Christ's dominion will not only declare a truth but unleash the power of the Holy Spirit probably the likes that human history has never seen. No matter what it's our duty to our Lord to state in no uncertain terms He holds dominion.
