In the joy of what Thou art;
I am finding out the greatness
Of Thy loving heart.
Thou hast bid me gaze upon Thee,
And Thy beauty fill my soul,
For by Thy transforming power,
Thou hast made me whole.
2. O how great Thy lovingkindness,
Vaster, broader, than the sea!
O how marvelous Thy goodness,
Lavished all on me!
Yes I rest in Thee, Beloved,
Know what wealth of grace is Thine,
Know Thy certainty of promise,
And have made it mine.
3. Simply trusting Thee, Lord Jesus,
I behold Thee as Thou art,
And Thy love, so pure, so changeless,
Satisfies my heart;
Satisfies its deepest longings,
Meets, supplies its every need,
And surrounds me with its blessings;
Thine is love indeed!
4. Ever lift Thy face upon me
As I work and wait for Thee;
Resting ‘neath Thy smile,
Lord Jesus, earth’s dark shadows flee.
Brightness of my Father’s glory,
Sunshine of my Father’s face.

Very fitting for the season of life I’m in. Resting in Jesus.
This particular part stood out to me. “ 1:18 “Oh how great thy lovingkindness”
It’s been very difficult to sleep these past 6 weeks as I’ve been sick and feeling short of breath. I woke up this morning in the middle of the night after having nightmare. I grabbed my bible that I had on my bed and read Lamentations chapter 3.
At the beginning of chapter 3 we read how Jeremiah had shared Israels afflictions but in verse 21-23 we read this wonderful passage.
“This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.“
Whatever we are going through may we recall to our mind God’s lovingkindness, compassion, and faithfulness. For He remains faithful even when we’re not.
