    Got the 89 MJ in red 2.5 2wd. Lady was asking $3000 it was broke down in an apple orchard w/ 4 flat tires and wouldn’t start. I said not interested at that price and left. She called me up 2weeks later and asked how much I’d give her for it, I said $500 she reluctantly agreed. I went over there with some tools and 4 bf Goodrich Ko’s on rims, switched out the tires got it running and took it home. Sitting next to my xj in the driveway:)

    I grew up around tj's my brother had 2 of them growing up well as a kid didn't think much about it till my first jeep was a 94 cherokee country that was loaded that what got me into jeeps 14 years in owning a Jeeps this past year I went and bought a 98 cherokee classic kinda high miles but the mileage didnt account how good it looked didnt really drive it much 2200 miles is what I put on it in a year just happen the day I looked on marketplace the same time guy post a 2000 tj sahara up for trade I contacted him and a day later after he test drove my cherokee he wanted it so we traded I got a green sahara manual trans it got half door and soft top always wanted a sahara wrangler but really just out of my price range cause around here they go anywhere from 8500 up typically.You.got a good looking Comanche around here you can't find em only in a pile of parts cause of the body rusting out so bad

    Man you got hosed. My Comanche Pioneer Metric Ton Option is OEM perfect n I paid $650 for the mechanics lein a dmshop had against it and one of his employees delivered it from Belview ( Seattle area)!to my house up in the mountains 356 Mile's no charge. It's great. It's a rare optioned modle. Dandahermit

    That's a nice Comanche. Mine I got for $350 but it was a real Pile, still doesn't look good but it just looks like a beater now, and the heater works. It's stuck on defrost and the body is clean, motor and tranny are good no 4x4 but it's my little jeep.

    I snagged a decent '90 a few years ago.
    4.0, 5 speed, 2wd, long bed with metric ton package.
    Previous owner installed Dana 30, bench seats, and spray painted matte black. Got it for $3k with a 4wd ax15 and a np231.
    I also picked up a rough rusty '87 for $450 that I mainly just bought for the trailer hitch.

    I just picked mine up a week ago. A little 86 unfortunately it has a 2-5 which does not run was the 4 speed manual. No rust bed damage a little bit driver side but otherwise clean little truck I traded a big block 454 Chevy that was given to me. That is a total good score on your part. They're getting harder to get. And harder to get parts for. I am doing the same thing you're doing 4.0 conversion ax15 behind that was a 4 inch lift. Looking forward to seeing what you're doing to the little pickup

  • @southhillfarm2795
    @southhillfarm2795 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm sort of impressed. saw the one TFL truck did and the tires were way too big and the lift was way too high. I owned a 1987 Commanche XL with a turbo diesel. Was awesome and slow at the same time. Had all the options for the time.

    this is an awesome truck, just saw it on the ComancheClub forum. Cool thing about these is if you ever want to do a 4.0 or 4x4 swap they are relatively easy, could snag a rusty but good running xj and swap the drive train.
