Don't usually comment, but I've been watching so many reviews recently on gear for setting up a podcast. Easily the most helpful review I've seen so far. Solid job mate.
Hameem - I appreciate the comment - very encouraging. I'm like you in that I tend not to comment; but when something is helpful, i try to pass it along. Thanks for watching - and good luck with the podcast.
Thanks for the review! I'm seriously looking at this one too, it does seem like 4 mic capability would be what you'd want in a podcast! I'm glad you like it, you've helped a lot in my decision process
Does the Focursite Scarlett 18i18 tend to heat up a bit? I'm asking because I live in the Northeast of Brazil, where the temperature is quite high. Maybe I'll buy an 18i18a. I've heard that this model heats up a little. Natural?
Wellington - I haven't noticed it heating up at all. I've taken it from the US and been in hot and cold temps with no issue. I also keep it underneath the desk adjacent to the desk surface, and no issues there either. I continue to be happy with it. Good luck with your setup
Nice content. Only critique is you should've used a vocal track not a guitar track to showcase the Air feature because that's what your commentary was talking about.
Shibu - it does, but they're not all stereo outs. The 8 count is total and includes SPDIF/MIDI/Headphones as well. 4 primary outs as you might normally recognize (for 4 studio monitors). Hope this helps, and thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video! Will Focusrite 8i6 3rd gen. work with macOS Monterey 12.1 ? It's a bit unclear if it is truly compatible - or if there are critical lacks... Hope to hear from someone on this subject :)
I can't speak for the 8i6, but this 18i8 works flawlessly with the most current version of macOs. I'm running Gen 3 with 12.1 right now with no issues at all. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
@@RebirthofSOC That's really great to hear 🙂 I just updated to Monterey 12.2 due to security fix AND ordered the 8i6 from Thomann. Sounds like there are good odds for compatability 🙂
Does this hav direct monitoring. Ie when you play a guitar and use the headphones with the unit is there delay from when you play to when your hearing the sound
@Inferno Nine - Yes, you can have direct monitoring of mic or line inputs. You can use the software to help with any lag you might see. For me, which is primarily a mic use, it works perfectly. Their customer support is also quite good, which is hard to come by these days. There's a full suite of video tutorials in addition to the people available as well. Thanks for watching.

Errold Tumaque - Fair point for sure. Any of the music on my channel should be able to get folks a clear use-case listen. Thanks for checking it out.
Presentation + information = quality. I've been watching shit reviews of this interface all afternoon. THIS one was concise AND entertaining.
Just realized the thumbnail for the video tricked me. Well played.
Slacquer - Glad it could be helpful; definitely appreciate you dropping by to watch.
Does this really have 8 outs? Only saw upto 4 outs.. looking for an upgrade for surround 7.1 projects..
