What about the joysticks do you not like? Does the RetroArch save states work on Pokémon? If not, you could try changing the emulator’s core on the main menu settings for GBC & GBA if they have any other emulator cores available
I am not able to flash a new OS to a new SD card so I am using the packaged in card for the OS and a new name brand card for the games. Would simply copying all the data from the first card to a new one be ok or do I need a way to flash the files on it after all?
@@batpixel Every time I try to install Balena Etcher it tells me it can't be installed in SMode. The PC isn't mine so I'm not comfortable disabling that since it tells me S Mode cannot be enabled once removed. If I use the default card for the OS, but use a name brand for the games, what are the odds the OS card fails?
Very high chance the black SD card will fail. They're not very reliable. What you can do is backup the files from the cards every so often, so in case it breaks at least you won't lose your files And I say every so often because you will have save files when you save your games. If you use a different OS in the future, make sure you use the same emulator/RetroArch core that you used for the game on the original OS if you want the save files to work. Save files do not work across different emulators
@@batpixel How can I back up the files of Jelos that came with the device? The card doesn't show any files when inserted in my PC. I found a solution for flashing with Rufus btw.
You can create 'replays' in RetroArch where you can record and watch your gameplay, but it's not a video file. It basically uses the game itself to recreate what you did. So for example, I just recorded myself playing Super Mario Bros. and I can watch it. But it creates a replay file on the SD card that works with the game itself, not a video file. You can turn on 'replay' options in the Quick Menu if you go into "User Interface/Quick Menu" or setup hot keys
I haven’t used the X55, but what I can say is that the Dpad on the RGB is not that good. The performance was pretty solid though, so it depends on if the X55 has good performance for PS1, Dreamcast, PSP, DS, N64
.... I have X55 and id say go with rgb10max 3 .... The d pad on x55 should be same as x55 and rgb30 .... .... I have x55 and rgb30 and the d pad is fine for donkey kong country and mario games ....
the company gives you the option to not get a sd card or op with the device. I did that to save money but now it does not work and I got 3 for friends they all dont work and I dont understand why i cant get the op system some where else pow kitty wont even give me just the card. not the power does not come on on all three devices. all are the same one in your video. they charge and show a red light but will not eve turn on. i was thinking maybe it is the card i dont have... how do i get the op thnank you
It seems like 'JELOS 20240206' is a decent software version you can install on this. There are more options you can go with. If you find a recent video on TH-cam installing custom firmware on this device you'll be able to follow along with it if you need to. I always reccomend getting reliable SD cards called SanDisk. Here is a Reddit post from May 2024 about software options: www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/1cp45qi/what_firmware_for_powkiddy_rgb10max3_may_2024/
These devices don't play it well, you'd be better off with a more powerful system. I saw on Redditt someone got it to work better with a custom version of ArkOS
16:9 on a device that's whole purpose is to play games that aren't designed for a 16:9 ratio is such a waste. Still waiting for that 5-inch 4:3 screen on some device.
@batpixel Nope. I have an Anbernic RG353P that I'm pretty happy with for now. But I'd love a proper 5 inch screen, 4:3 screen, with some good ergonomics. I don't even need that much more power really.
Thanks for the review. Your reviews are so on point.
On point and straight to the point 😄
can show how to activate the Wi-Fi network because I cannot figure it out.
This seems awesome! Shame about the d pad though, real bummer. Does the “Poobiedoop” have touchscreen?
Yeah they need to put more effort into the dpads lol no 😆
Does the rgb10 max 3 come with built in games
Yes
The only issue is the joysticks and the GBC and GBA pokemon games don't save :(

The software should be flashed on the card

You should be able to download JelOS for this device on github. Just flash your card again with Rufus
@Batpixel can we record our gameplay when playing powkiddy rgb10max ?

@batpixel the rgb30 is the better performer even though they both use same chip set

Rgb10max3 or rg35xxh
I'd probably pick the H because it's smaller and more pocketable on the go

Does it have r3/L3 button
Yep 👌
Hello.... RGB10MAX3 or RGB30?
I'd choose the aspect ratio that you'll mostly be gaming on
Sorry to bother you, but does it run half life?

Thanks a lot, I actually am considering the Anbernic rg556, I heard it’s very powerful, for a handheld console atleast.

Yeah that's a no go for some people definitely. Have you seen any device out there or do you own any that you like yet?

Yeah you'd think they would make more with such a huge fan base of those generations
