watching your video zoomed me back to the early 60's when I was a little kid!! Everything in your journal was so touching and brought back so many memories. Beautiful little journal... I really enjoyed the large "walking doll" in the cookbook... that was my Christmas wish , the big beautiful doll!! Thanks for sharing... just sorry I'm 2 years late in looking!🙄
Hi again, thanks for your so prompt answer. 😄 I do understand fully all that you have explained. So agree not to follow the story, but to use the illustrations. And with all the guidance of the videos have taught myself how to add pages, and I actually love doing that. Torn out pages of the story book would work better, understand what you mean if I had to take it out from the spine in double pages, very boring. Thats sorted. Now I thought of making a small journal for a child, so in keeping with the story, which I think she would want to read, I could tear out the pages, carry on with all the Ephemera etc. puzzles and whatever, and just add story pages in between in the correct order. Would that sound like a great idea. Looking to go beyond my bounderies. Everything you tell me, goes into my notebook. 🥰 You are a great tutor.
I know decorating this journal takes WAY more time than just the offering it without the ephemera but it is SO worth it! Just adorable, Amy!! I will most definitely watch this video many times! Pure pleasure.

Thanks! Are you referring to the paper on the inside covers? I don't remember a paper with kids skating on it! 😄 I'd have to rewatch the video since it was from last year! Thank you for watching!! 🤗❤❤❤❤

I just found this video, so I'm a little late to the party. But, I had to tell you this journal is adorable!!! It took me back to my childhood - very nostalgic feel to it! I've got to go find more journal videos of yours now! 😊
I wish I had the little books intact. So hard to find now. Sadly hardly many have survived time and they are lost to us forever. Your journal book is cute.
Thank you and thanks for watching and commenting! You know, I find them all the time at vintage shops, yards sales, thrift stores, etc! And hundreds and hundreds on Ebay! I always keep really good condition ones and/or hard-to-find or rare ones intact. 🤗❤️❤️❤️
I too buy the ones that have been well loved and worn or lost pages. The way you use them help to preserve the adorable artwork hopefully many lifetimes and if someone really used it to journal they will add to the charm.
I am in love with every journal you make, they just get better & better!!! 😍😍😍 I am definitely getting inspiration from your style as I work in my December Daily. Thanks so much for sharing so much information. ❤️💚

Hi, I would love to ask you a question. Seen others, that have added story book bits. But I could never really understand what was what. Do you take the story book apart, and as you build your Signitures, add the pages in between all the other pretty papers. So the story still continues, but more exciting and adventurous to the end?
@@sandyvanderlinde237 Hi Sandy! It's a little hard to explain in writing, but I will try! Yes, you take the pages out and depending on how you remove them, determines how you can add them back in. You can either pull the entire signature(s) out from the spine by pulling the covers back very far and pulling them out OR you can tear the pages out. If you remove them by pulling them away from the spine, the pages will be wider than if you tear them out. With the extra width, you can wrap that extra width around the crease of another page where it is folded for the signature and secure with glue or tape. Of course that means that strip of paper will show on the page where it is attached, but you can turn it into a decorative element with washi tape, paint, fabric, etc. If you tear the pages out, you can add them back into the signatures (mixed in with other pages) and attach them by using wide washi tape on the torn edge and the page you want to attach it to. You can also turn the torn pages sideways and fold them in half and add just like any other folded page to a signature. That is actually my preferred way to do it, because I like the way it looks. I'm less concerned with it reading like a story bc it is now intended to be a journal and for me, the purpose of the original pages in a junk journal is just to appreciate and enjoy the illustrations. But that is a personal preference. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions!! Thank you for watching! 🤗❤️❤️❤️
