- The Blue Devils warm up in the Home Depot Backyard adjacent to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA before their 2019 DCI Southeastern performance. The corps graciously invited us to sit inside the horn circle for the last part of the warm-up - what an amazing vantage point to hear a world-class drum corps!

You can see me by Alan Hester with the purple piano shirt, I’ll never forget what experienced that day. This was my first taste of DCI and it won’t be my last.
Glad you enjoyed your experience! I have been watching DCI since 1987 and going to shows 1989. Along with 1996 this will be only the second summer I have not been to a show in those 30 years so I am definitely missing DCI. Hopefully, it will be back next summer! I hope you get to another show when the corps take the field again!

It's from their 2011 show called The Beat My Heart Skipped
They are right - 2011 "The Beat my Heart Skipped" featuring the music of Burt Bacharach. The specific chart is "A House is not a Home." Great solo, IMO, both in warmup and back in 2011.

Brass and Drums Ok thanks, House is not a home is one of my favorite things to hear in DCI and my band is planning to do the tuning sequence into it this year.

Awesome sounds but I don’t like the uniforms
Pretty much in agreement. To be honest, I have not liked the unis since they dropped the open front jackets in 94 - yes, I am old school! :) I really do not like the entire modern uni designs in the last few years. That being said, Of the last three years of the current "wear a uniform then take it off" style, I think I liked this year's the best (though the jacket to start in 2017 really evoked the historical unis I love). But I really all corps would drop the color guard unis and leave them to the guards and go back to uniforms that evoke their identity created over years if not decades. Thanks for watching!
The level of physicality that this sport demands far exceeds any NBA, NFL, or major league sports game. Marching Band should be an Olympic Sport.

Yep, that sounded awful. Hate that I took out a section of that. I was shifting the camera in my hand and realized I had placed my finger right on top of the holes on top for the microphone. D'oh! Lesson learned!
