    I have a 10R+ and just love it for all the common reasons . A couple things U will say, though. Mine was delivered in a loose condition that gave it very bad steering “death” wobble at anything over about 20 - 22 mph. Since it was new, I thought this may be a common issue and responded by riding accordingly so that I do not die prematurely. I had to send it back after about six months due to rear motor failure, which ended up being the rear controller issue. However, the mechanic also noticed that the suspension was “loose” and tightened it. The steering wobble was gone and I could comfortably ride up to 35-40 mph. My entire first season was relegated to 20 mph or less because of this issue. Then there are all the flats I got. 11 flats on the first 500 miles! Worse than that is what is actually required in order to change a flat which is a very miserably difficult experience that does not get much easier with time. Getting the new tube into place requires an immense amount of very difficult manipulation especially if you do not have a custom workshop in your basement. While my flats have started to come much less frequently, for reasons unknown, changing flats are still as miserable as ever. So, if you buy a new one that wobbles over 20 moh, have the suspension checked right away. And, if you are not minimally mechanically inclined, this product is not for you. Eventually, after the honeymoon has passed, it will require much more than expected to keep it “on the road”. I suspect that a lot of these types of scooters end up collecting dust in the basement, right where your custom work shop could be instead.

    i actually have NO interest in scooters AT ALL. But I did buy a Himiway Cruiser recently as well as another ebike to go with it. I am interested in BMX racing bikes (which are expensive AF), but after watching this as well as some of your other videos (LOVED the one where you did the SNOW ride! lol) I am actually thinking about getting this VSETT 10+ ( I was budgeting on a BMX racing bike which range from 400 up to 900 dollars for next month but could buy this instead!). As is the 10 probably has all the features you want if you're just riding it for fun; But if you need it to be anything more you will probably start looking at longer handlebars, better horn/bell, better front light, etc.

  • @mediaxr7255
    @mediaxr7255 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I love my Vsett 10+ R !!! (chose it mainly from your original review). I have over 1,600 miles on it so far. Upgrades I've done are:
    - New solid, wider handlebars
    - Steering damper
    - PMT tires (definitely worth it!)
    - New horn
    - 2x headlights
    - Mirror
    Best range I have gotten is about 45 miles, mostly gear 1. That would probably be my biggest complaint, I was hoping for a little bit more but still not bad at all for a scooter. If you really like the suspension, adding the PMT tires makes the ride even softer. It's like a luxury sedan.
    I'm really looking forward to more videos from you on the 10+, especially any mods you do. Be safe, have fun!

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you're liking it so far! I'm curious, with that 45mile range what size battery did your vsett come with? Was it the 28ah? Mind sharing your riding weight with gear? I'm about 225 so I'm not sure what to expect.
      Man... Everyone preaches about those pmt tires. If the originals are out of balance it usually works for me to just deflate them, freespin up the motors for a second, then reinflate the tires. If the tires are the same PSI, how can PMT feel squishier? I guess I need to try them eventually.
      I'm sure I'll need to upgrade to the 291R when I get to smashing this thing off-road. What size coil did you go with?

    • @mediaxr7255
      @mediaxr7255 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GingerOnWheels Hey Ginger, yes, it is the 28ah battery. I weigh about 185 without gear, maybe an additional 10-15 with? The 45 mile ride was on a pretty hilly trail with lots of ups and downs. So there was a lot of coasting down hill, then power going uphill. It probably will do better on flatter ground, but I don't really have a way to test that. I had regen braking on level 1 for that ride. I'm not a big fan of it and don't use it much, but thought I could take advantage of all the downhill portions of the ride.
      And the PMTs, I only upgraded because they were a gift, I really wasn't having many issues with the stock ones. But once I tried them, I could feel a difference right away. And I don't know if I would say squishier, but smoother maybe. Really hard to describe, but like I said, I noticed a difference. Come out to Atlanta some time you can give it a shot!
      And I have NOT upgraded the suspension, but that is probably my next thing.

      @@bogard887 I did have a controller failure at about 2,500 miles. It was still under warranty from Revrides and they were helpful in getting the replacement and troubleshooting with the install. I still really love the 10+, but it has required several upgrades to get it where it's at, so keep that in mind. But I would still recommend it to anyone - once you have it dialed in for yourself, it is an awesome ride

I road threw that puddle for like 20 seconds and I road threw the same puddle like 3 times. That was like 5 months ago. Is that bad? It still works perfectly tho. I thought it was water proof

    I recommend trying the pmt efire tires for this scooter.
    Also, the battery is the same config on all vsett model’s. The difference is the cells used (LG Mj1 in 28ah pack, LG mh1 in 25,6ah. And Chinese cells in 20.8ah). So weight should be really similar between models (maybe differ 1kg at most)

      PMT tires are awesome. I took the vinyl tires off of my Dualtron and put on PMT this summer. W O W !!!
      That said, I just noticed he said he's considering off road tires - in which case I wouldn't care what I used as long as they were durable. Vinyl would be OK for me off road.

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good call about the battery cell quality. Hadn't thought of that but it makes total sense.
      Everyone preaches about the PMT tires but I've yet to hear anyone really explain what the difference in ride quality is like. It comes across as people who spent a lot of $ on an upgrade, and worked hard to swap the tires, being placebo effected into thinking they are amazing. I'm sure they are good, but what are the real differences? If I can ride and turn easily at full speed on the stock tires, where does the improvement with PMTs come from? Can you guys try to explain it a bit for me? I might try them out, but it seems like a lot of work for what could end up being a mediocre performance upgrade.

    • @olivereliasson799
      @olivereliasson799 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GingerOnWheels if i recall they are rubber tires. They grip better in corners and are a-bit quieter. I think it’s not that hard to swap them as the vsett 10 has split rims right? Have not tried them myself as i drive vsett 9+ and they don’t make a model that size.

    • @BayAreaPEV
      @BayAreaPEV 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GingerOnWheels For me the best I can describe it is that they are very grippy when turning. Another thing is that they feel more comfortable. If you've ever ridden bicycles then you know people talk about How better quality tires absorb more road vibration and feel more comfortable I find this to be somewhat the case with PMT. Though the difference is not as crazy since you have very good suspension on the Vsett 10+. Another good option if you're not looking to spend a lot of money is the CST 10x3 tires on Ali express. They Are a lot more comfortable than the hota tires you see on Amazon and they are a very similar price. For me the main positive of the PMT attire is that I would see a lot of flats on the cheap stock tires because the inside of the tire would wear out and expose the metal threads inside the nylon. This would cause endless flat tires but on the PMTI do not have that issue. Overall I think it's worth the money but If budget is tight then that money is probably better spent on upgrading the suspension or Replacing the folding humble bar with a good quality and solid wide handlebar

    • @phylaxxx
      @phylaxxx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GingerOnWheels The main advantages from PMTs are more grip which will make you find yourself going faster around corners. Better durability, it's rubber vs nylon the rubber will last much longer. The tyres balance themselves better which removes vibrations from an unbalanced wheel. I have also found punctures to be less of an issue but that could just be luck.

    Got my Mantis 10 Lite and love it…sixty miles in my first week of ownership. Only complaint is that the charger receptacle protective cap cannot be waterproof or barely water resistant.
    On another matter…get the book “Eat Bacon Don’t Jog NO B.S.”. You don’t need to read the book, just read the beginning to learn how to lose the weight. I took six inches off my waist six years ago and have kept it off. After that you’ll have to figure out a diet that you can live with…good luck!

    Congrats on getting your 10+. Nice Vid. What I like most about the 10+ is the ability to throw it in the car and take rides outside the city. Can't do that with anything bigger. Took a ride around Fall City, WA and it was a blast. I did invest in an extended battery (1536wh) and my range (on warmer days) doubled to what I am guessing will be over 70mi. I say warmer days, the extended battery bag is not insulated, reducing total range. So I am also trying some neoprene insulation in the bag and will install on top and bottom of my main battery. Hopefully that solves the cold-weather riding range issue. The steering damper for me solidifies the ride. Next up, PMT tires. The Touvt that came with the scooter are pretty badly out of round, causing high speed vibration. I had heard that the PMT's will fix that. Also, the new EXA FORM 291R shocks help rebound significantly.

    I have the 8+ and it's fun to ride but it has so many problems. The screws become extreamly loose every week and need to be tightened, I've had screws and reflectors literally fall off. I had to take off, clean, and put loctite in each screw and put them back on. I've had the throttle get messed up where the scooter randomly goes by itself causing it to almost get launched out into traffic at a crosswalk. And so many times it started doing that randomly where it's as if the throttle is being pulled randomly every 2 seconds and once it starts doing that. It takes weeks to stop. I've also had the screws strip soooo easily. When I took the scooter out of the box, the thing with the DDM button was put on sooo tight that the multi tool literally broke when trying to loosen it. I also had the connector for the wires for the front wheel just unplug itself right when I got it and I didn't realize it. The breaks are also super hard to pull and the break cable for the front wheel keeps slipping out of the hole that it's rests in causing it to completely stop working. The front break also always gets stuck in. I've also had the suspension and front wheel start squeaking sooooo loud out of no where. Also I've tightened every screw but it still rattles sooo loud as if it's about to fall apart. I literally clean everything, put WD40 on everything, and tighten all of the screws and put loctite on them and it still feels soooo janky and loose. Also the rubber that seals the wires that go into the breaks for the turn signal buttons are pulled out exposing the wires, it came like that and I tried to fix it but it keeps slipping out

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're okay with occasionally jerky sinewave response, cruise control glitches, and a smaller battery then sure. It's very close competition. I'm maintaining my weariness of the Kaabo brand, as it was just 6 months ago that their top of the line model was catching fire. Keep in mind I have owned the Kaabo Mantis pro SE, Kaabo 11+, King, and king gt. To each their own I suppose. Those are my thoughts coming from someone who's never ridden the Mantis King gt. Perhaps my perspective will change once I get one for review. Time will tell.

    • @mikhail716
      @mikhail716 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GingerOnWheels I haven't heard anything about jerky sinewave controllers and I do always here people praise the vsett 10+ but there's plenty of people on reddit and TH-cam who also claim their vsett suspension isn't as great as you claim it to be. And claiming it's as good as the nami with it's adjustable suspension seems to be a bit of a stretch. Almost everyone states their vsetts front suspension is wobbly and bouncy at anything over 40mph and needs to be upgraded just enjoy the higher speeds. Also almost every I've seen ends up replacing the handlebars over stability concerns at high speeds.

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@mikhail716 did you watch the video I just made? Carving back and forth at 45mph? If you beat the suspension to hell and compress the springs too hard then it'll chatter around at high speed, sure. When / if that happens just spend $80 and get the exa form 291R. I'm sure there are people out there who swear by the zero 10x too, like I said. To each their own. This is my content and opinions and I think it's the best scooter out there.

      I definitely agree with the 45-50psi for these tires, higher than most but they are prone to flats at lower pressures. Good tips for sure.

Your excitement after years of experience and decided to buy the 10+R after everything else you’ve ridden. Does one buy a motorcycle? unlimited range, but get stuck in traffic still?
