In this lesson, we will learn how to find the greatest common factor (gcf) and least common multiple (lcm) of two numbers. These ideas are important when working with fractions, finding common denominators to add fractions, and other operations with fractions and numbers. The GCF is found by finding the factors of numbers and looking to find the largest (greatest) factor common between two numbers. Factors are simply numbers that can be divided into a number. To find the least common multiple, we just find the multiples of the given numbers and look for the smallest (least) multiple common to both lists.
Having to review mathematics after 35 years to pass the Acuplacer test for entry into new training. OMG I hated math...you make it easier and fun with understanding. No one ever explained it like you. If my teachers had, my life path would have had a different focus. Thank you and many blessings your way!
Mr. Jason Gibson is an excellent math teacher. He has a way to explain things that, as long as youare willing to learn math (as opposed to be hostile to math), his teaching is easy to follow. He is never vague or intimidating; and he never talks down on you or make you feel bad. Those are the hallmarks of a good teacher. James Chan, Ph.D., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
I agree with you
I think this guy is the best out there. I’ve got some of his DVDs.
Whenever I watch your videos, I understand straight away. Your presentation and teachings are neat and easy to get. Thank you
Another tip to keep in mind when creating a list of factors for a number: Once you've reached the halfway point you can stop, because a number can't have any *natural* factors greater than half its size - with the exception of the greater of its *identical* factors (1 and the number itself) and we already know as a given that the number is a factor of itself.
Thank you so much for all the offers you are doing
This the best educational channel I have ever seen,
Twinty years back I don't like algebra, calculus, geometry
But now with you I returned back and study just for pleasure
Regards from Yemen 🇾🇪
Thank you so much!
I can't believe there's a place called "yeah man"!
I will strong advise my colleague at the University to get the benefits of this channel
The good thing there is no advertisment 😊
Your videos are brilliant , well presently I'm student as a mechanical engineering and i watch all of your videos about math and physics and algebra and I'm telling you , you are the best , if i had such a teacher in my high or primary school , i would be doing so much better than what i'm already doing and also I practice English Speaking with your Videos because you speak very fluent and very great so to sume up , I'm a big fan of yours 😁
Thank you so very much - I really appreciate it!
Very informative and good tutorial method.god bless you sir.
Very clear and helpful. Thank you.
I have been following you. You are amazing teacher. I am going to take entrance exam to become an Enroll Nurse. I struggle in Math. You help me lot in preparing for entrance exam.
Thank you Mr, I really understood well, you’ve saved me because I have a math final tomorrow,
You have helped me with homeschooling my son in this video :). Thank you and we have subscribed to your channel and will be back for more great teaching!
Your a videos are the best math videos on the internet
All the best to you. Good health, successful and happy life. You are amazing for sharing your remarkable knowledge. You help a lot of people including ME.
I do like the way you teach
Same, he helped me understand several subjects in calculus. He teaches in an intuitive way.
A prime number is a number has two factors only, one multiplied by another number such as 2, 3, 5, 7, 11… If a number has more than two factors, they are called composite number. It’s a good idea to memorize prime numbers because they are very useful for solving fraction problems such as reducing fractions and solving algebra problems.
CRAZY
MY MENTOR IS HERE AGAIN WITH A GOOD CONTENT. PLEASE,LIKE,COMMENT AND SHARE. THANKS FOR YOUR INSPIRATION SIR.
Thank you so much!
Thanks, this actually helped me prepare for a math quiz.

God bless thank u for explaining
Welcome!
Thank you for such an easy explanation
This helped me so much and his voice is not at all boring unlike some math teachers I’ve met! 😅😅
Thank you sir I really learned something from you 😁❤ I'll share this to my friends
Watching from kerala India, thank you excellent teaching

Thanks so much!
Thank you
THANK YOU.. SIR...!!!
i liked and subscribed to this because my favorite subjects are math and science
Cool and thx for the math I'm so proud to u
thanks bro
i have a question what if the number factor your gonna solve is the same what will happen? example factor of 16 and factor of 16 what will happen?
great method of deduction....now is factorization used in algebra?
Yes definitely used in algebra.
What about the Euclidian algorithm method?
thank u!
Sir please make videos on oscillators
I will subscribe
helped me a lot
gcf of 10 and 25: 5
Dear professor , you teach well.
Which country are you from?
Texas
lcm of 2 and 7: 14
Are GCF and HCF are same ?
I think the GCF of any two consecutive numbers is one and LCM is their product.
Interesting!
@@MathAndScience similarly,we can find the GCF and LCM of any two consecutive even numbers easily. The GCF is always two and LCM is obtained by dividing both numbers by two and multiplying their quotients along with two.
Eg. 8,10 LCM=2.
GCF --> 8/2=4, 10/2=5,
4×5×2=40.
thank you 💞 po
Can it be 3.5 times 2 is = 7?
No, factors are only whole numbers. So, no decimals or fractions can be factors. 😀
Ok thanks techare this topic understand me
I thank
