    I think The McLaren F1 is the only car that has an ageless look, like it was brought out recently. And it only needed 627 horsepower to hit 242 mph.

    This has got to be the best sound in the world! The drivers and fans were so lucky to have witnessed these legends racing!

      +TheBlackdragon936 Nobody makes better engines than BMW. Honestly, the only other engine that can compete is the Mercedes-Benz Ilmor engine.

      The only possible reason is that it's not long enough. But that's still not a good enough reason.

      +FAC9P maybe someone who understands that it's just not that great engineering. It's not even turbo charged, it's not light, it's not aerodynamic, it's part of the problem of global warming and a Tesla Model S is quicker off the line. A large electric 7 seater luxury sedan.
      Someone even moderately intelligent easily realizes that old car tech is nothing to hold on to. It doesn't get better with age, yet you sheep think it does.

    • @IntegraDIY
      @IntegraDIY 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Dan Frederiksen but we must appreciate where all the great technology came from. Without older companies like these testing and pushing their cars, we wouldn't have such mind blowing hybrid supercars like we do today. Remember these cars were wayyyy ahead of their time as well, even vintage 1950s-1980s race cars paved the way for us to enjoy

    • @DanFrederiksen
      @DanFrederiksen 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Integra DIY no that's your erroneous romantic belief. As I said, it didn't even have a turbo which was pioneered in the 70s to great effect in Formula 1. As I said, not is it light nor aerodynamic.
      If you stop to think about it, it's just a car built without any actual excellence with a stock motor from BMW. It was just fairly rare back then that anyone tried building super cars and it got mythical status because of the weird seat placement and the use of gold leaf in the engine compartment. It's really that simple.
      Try to rely on such elements of understanding instead of being swept up in heated irrational sentiment. Another intelligent point you can use to build your intelligence is to observe that there was no aerodynamics in the rims. Those whip the air into turbulence and create a lot of drag. Really amateur engineering even though you wont be able to accept that truth. Dare to think.
      The real wheel could also be covered by bodywork and there could be rubber aero elements in front and trailing the tires which is a huge drag element. Often as much as 30% of the car.
      The simple truth is that humans are really sloppy minds and they design by half drunk intuition rather than intellectual discipline. A car is shaped by crayon people on paper by aesthetics with only vague intuition of aerodynamics. And that's still true today. They are still idiots, I assure you. The P1 is not great engineering either and quite ridiculously overpriced at that.

      +Dan Frederiksen Ha ha what?? You probably don't know this, but the F1 is STILL the fastest NA car (i.e. highest top speed). But you must trolling anyway....I hope so!
