    Just tested this Extra Fine nib and it's a very good writer. There is a big "but" to be considered if anyone is thinking about purchasing this nib: this is softer than the usual steel nib but it might not be as flexible in order to achieve line variation while writing, specifically for those who have a slanted style. I don't regret my purchase since it gave my Momento Magico another style and some improvement over my Fine Nib, some spring is welcome for very fine lines. By the way, the Leonardo Extra Fine nibs have a line as thick as a Lamy Safari Fine, just for reference.
    I would recommend this nib as a primary option for a fine/extra fine on the Leonardo line of pens instead of the regular one but not as a option for line variation. It doesn't feel natural to flex this nib, as simple as that.
    Thanks for this review and I am with you on the opinion about the Extra Fine, it is where the value lies on.

      Hey there Andre, yes you pointed out everything that is important, this nib is not the answer to all problems or the ultimate flex machine, it is a relative similar pricing on a flex option for a Leonardo fountain pen. Good job on the feedback - it is spot on !

    I find this to be an interesting option for those of us who just cannot afford to buy a lot more pens. I like amber and green-tone pens, and the two Leonardo pens I own are wonderful. The one you are showing is also fantastic. I am checking these out! I like the engraving on the back of the cap more than the barrel…great choice! I am particularly interested in the Jowo elastic nib. If tuned by Leonardo, I have found the steel nib on my Momento Zero Grande to be a great writer. I do not think there is a way to made steel more flexible without going to a very thin architecture, but (at the price different) if one does not use pressure, there should be no problem. If you do use a little too much pressure, then you always have an option to purchase a replacement nib. I like the way these guys think! They make a great pen that most of us can stretch to purchase. And, WOW! Your writing demo of an elastic Fine clearly indicates how it lays down a great line; nevertheless, your demonstration of the EF probably won me over! Have some available for our tax refunds! :)

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - this is exactly an option for someone that wants a little softness with their steel nib at the same cost of a normal steel nib. I tend to be quite flamboyant in writing and softer nibs are something that i can really quickly make them shine

    The pen is beautiful. I am sure Leonardo will come up with a Grande version in this design also. Nothing can beat a gold nib in flexibility but still I laud Leonardo for the steel elastic nib. Once again thanks for the review.

    Hello bravo for your work it is very instructive 👍 I am an artist I am currently looking for a fountain pen to draw with a fluid line, a good flow of ink, a good reserve of ink, and resistant. What would also be the right inks to accompany this product? thank you for your comeback

Thank would be my top 4 favourite nibs , it is taste only, i like a nib that is soft but not too soft when it comes to flex

  • @blackimp4987

    I appreciate your reviews but today I'm going to choose the flex nib for my Momento Magico I already paid and I can't understand from this review the real size of EF and F lines as you tested them just by dipping into ink. the real lines depends a lot from the amount of ink feed provides nib with. From what I see in this review I would never buy any of these pens as they release excessive ink on the paper but this often happens when you dip your nib.
    So consider that these reviews could be appreciated more if you could do real test of pens you are showing. My 2 cents - and write a lot more than just a few seconds

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When we get to do these reviews sometimes we receive the initial inventory pieces that we dont have spares to test and ink up and then its not ok for us to retail them as being new pens... often times we ask future owners if they are ok with us testing the pen in a video review and then having the same pen, we have yet to find a person saying no to this, but even so - we dont want to put ink in the converter and to have it "used" ... then there is the risk of dropping one of these and then not having it ready when the parcel should eb traveling towards the client... this is why we prioritise the client and not having a test driving pen that we just do watcher we want with it in our videos. Btw ... I could show you 10 nibs / same pen / same nib size / I can bet you that rarely you could find 3 that write the same... 70% have some different lines that they put down, only after we get to check the gap, align tines, get the toppings smoothen .... only then we can get consistency to what you would understand. So for the moment - this is the best we can, in the future we are planning to open a "used for demo purposes section" where what we use in our videos gets sold there on that section at a lower cost for some that dont mind a pen that got to be inked and showcased in a video :D
