I ran into the same issue. From experience, I realized air flow usually is down. The filter I removed said air flow up on it. The filter I bought, frame filter CF12436 has the correct direction orientation, it says air flow down.

Depending on the brand of the filter it will say up or air flow. If it says up. It goes up like the original one you pulled out. Others with airflow goes the other way. Like you installed the new one. Just depends on the brand and how they worded it.

Thank you so much. They were trying to charge me nearly $60 to change this at the dealership. I was just curious if could do this cheaper cause I saw the filters online for like $15. Definitely will be doing this myself to save money going forward. Thanks!
