Bruh I’m in med school, go to the school that is cheapest unless your parents can foot the bill. I have 400k in debt from med school and undergrad and I wish I didn’t go to a prestigious school for undergrad. It doesn’t matter where you go for undergrad (unless you want to do specific research) grad school is what matters. If that state school pays you to go to their school, you better go!!!
This is so true. I went to crappy public undergrad, but a top 10 law school. Ended up in same place as people who killed themselves in high school to go to Ivies and took on huge debt. I was debt free. I've worked in hiring for 15 years now -- I pay no attention to where people went undergrad. Never heard anyone mention it even once in a Hiring Committee meeting. Only thing that matters is where they went to law school. Sad to see the stress that kids put themselves through for something meaningless.
@@2triangles this helps my college anxiety out, I have a 4.6 gpa but got burnt out and failed 2 classes.. but I was planning on going to state college anyways 😅
I remember applying to colleges ten years ago. I was completely uninspired by the idea of going to college, I didn't feel like there was any point. Senior year was something of an existential crisis for me. I got rejected by some of the same schools as you, waitlisted at a few, and accepted at a few. Bowdoin was actually my first acceptance...I was kind of surprised, since I didn't really know anything about it. Ended up going there "on a whim" because it was on the opposite side of the country and the first school that accepted me. It ended up being a formative part of my life, but I say that more as a matter of fact. It doesn't really matter where you go. The experiences you have, the people you meet, everything that happens to you will shape you into who you become. I type this at 28 years old, in the midst of another existential crisis, hoping that the next day, week, month, and year of my life take me to the places, people, and experiences that help me become more of the individual I'm supposed to be...even as I often feel as if I don't belong. You're in Japan now. Good for you :)
The worst thing that has happened to the college admissions process over the past 15-20 years is the common application. It allows people to apply EASILY to 20 schools or more. This drives acceptance rates DOWN at all top tier schools simply because they get thousands more applicants then they did prior to the common application. It also removes responsibility from applicants to FOCUS on the schools they really want to attend. It used to be that you applied to six schools.....two stretch, two in your strike zone, and two safe schools. Life was much easier for everyone. Btw, to the poster of this video, CARLETON is a very good school, if you can deal with Minnesota weather.
LMAO my parents got pissed off at my sisters because she only applied for the colleges she wanted to without backups. They were so worried about her until she got an email from MIT, saying she got accepted
This is the only reaction video I’ve actually enjoyed. Finally someone who doesn’t adhere to the stereotype; kids who go to ivies are usually pretentious snobs anyways. Congrats on UCLA; I just got in as a transfer for 2019 !
The only school I really wanted to attend was Williams College. I literally put my head down and cried when I got accepted. Attending it was such a blessing. Almost 40 years later I think of that miracle almost every day. ❤
I fucking wish I saw videos like these when I was a senior in hs. It would’ve helped me feel way less alone and scared about the whole process, and also make me realize just how BULLSHIT the admissions process was. God I was so anxious that year. But this really helps even though I’m done with all this.
Wow, I stumbled onto this almost two years after the fact. He seems so calm with the rejections. I felt terrible for him each time, but maybe that's just not how it is now. Back in 1991, I applied to 6 schools which was probably more than the average. Every one was important and the emotional impact was substantial each time. Rejected at 1 ivy, waited listed at one ivy, (later rejected), 3 acceptances with one being a top choice, withdrew application from my safety school. Things have changed, and not for the better. The chance that even a strong applicant gets accepted is so low that it almost feels like playing a slot machine. Depressing.
Hi Steven, thanks for the comment! No need to feel bad for me, I actually was calm because I believed I would work hard and try to succeed no matter where I went to. I’m very happy with the school I’m going to right now, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! The times certainly have changed haven’t they? Cheers

“im not like other girls i dont care what college I got into” 😜
hate it when women express emotions after finding out huge life-changing news!🤢
bruh lmaoo
why only hate on women? weird comment
Weird ass comment only targeting women
0:01 lmao one second in and I already like this video. congrats on being accepted into UCLA!
I hate college videos, but this video... this was amazing, like, totally sick video man. No clickbait and very original
“Refresh this so I can pay off my college” this dude is literally wearing a like $800 moncler polo 😂
one of the only collegeg acceptance video where i didnt have to turn down my volume
I subscribed because this is the energy i need in my life
Ilsa Sajid same
The worst thing that has happened to the college admissions process over the past 15-20 years is the common application.
They were so worried about her until she got an email from MIT, saying she got accepted
you go "fantastic! got rejected from..." i aspire to have this much confidence
Ppl r usually very dramatic about these admission letters but this dude is calm
This is the funniest most calm college reaction video I’ve ever watched 😭
This is the only reaction video I’ve actually enjoyed. Finally someone who doesn’t adhere to the stereotype; kids who go to ivies are usually pretentious snobs anyways. Congrats on UCLA; I just got in as a transfer for 2019 !
The only school I really wanted to attend was Williams College. I literally put my head down and cried when I got accepted. Attending it was such a blessing. Almost 40 years later I think of that miracle almost every day. ❤
I applied to Williams ED.. it's my dream school. Hope I get in with funding too...
@@salahashlly5149 good luck
I fucking wish I saw videos like these when I was a senior in hs. It would’ve helped me feel way less alone and scared about the whole process, and also make me realize just how BULLSHIT the admissions process was. God I was so anxious that year. But this really helps even though I’m done with all this.
you're so calm. i love it. it's almost like you have this assured feeling that you'll be okay.
Lol I was also following the Georgetown conspiracy on college confidential🤣 I made an account with ups and everything
I love your energy man. You are gonna go places.
Also "Mi Fan Da Xue" baahahahahahhaha
this is the most chill college decisions reaction 😂
I fw how you carry yourself odee! Keep it up bro
Lol ‘米饭大学’

Hahah rice uni
For all of you that got into Ivies in 2018, I have huge respect to you, you guys would be big one day.
I’m subscribing because you’re like legit the chillest person I’ve ever seen, I’m dead lmao 💀
This speaks to my soul. Thank you for this authenticity & nonchalance
Cheers
The most realistic college decision reaction video I’ve seen, spiced up with relatable humor.
It's like I went back in time to watch myself 5 years ago. FeelsBadMan. UCLA is better than 90% of the schools that rejected you tho so congrats.
He was so calm about the UCLA acceptance. I would of been screaming lolllll!
Vassar and Ucla are amazing in themselves. That’s literally the most accurate reaction I have ever seen!! All the other reaction videos just add burden to my chest lol 😂 I would be happy to get into Vassar this year - did terribly at my essay but who knows 💪🏻
