If you still want to fluff them up, toss them in the dryer. An instagram shop that sell their plushes vacuum sealed says to do a light air tumble in the dryer.
Take this idea with a grain of salt because the closest I come to Squishmallows is watching ACNH creators hunt for them 😂 BUT -- it could be a fun vlog to watch you do a Fake Squish "upcycle"? (i.e. buy a tragically damaged Real Squish and reuse the real stuffing to give your fake blueberry boi an 'organ transplant')

I've heard of vacuum sealed plushies needing to be thrown in the dryer to fluff back up. Idk if this applies to all of em and if it needs to be run on a cold setting or what idk but maybe that could help
i think the defect on the mushroom is because it's printed-on fabric, and there was a mistake when sewing it. so you can see the black outline of the print and original white fabric when it should be hidden inside

Becus yes, Squishmallows are very simply designed, but it enables them to have a huge variation! They have things I've never seen plushies of ever & I love that! Have you seen their deep sea animal collection? Now it doesn't work with everything. I've seen some really terrible designs I can't believe were greenlit (including some of the... food & drink category). But I think it's the simplicity & variety that help make SWM so popular. Also, the fact that they're relatively cheap. (5 Below sells 8 inches for abt 6 dollars 👍🏻👍🏻)

i ordered Benny once, i waited a month or so for it to get here and when it finally did, it looked *extremely* accurate but had no tag and too much stuffing. But it’s still one of my favourite squishmallows to this day.
I'm sure by now you've either trashed them... but yes, vacuum sealed stuffies need a good bit to re-fluff. and lots of aggressiveness to speed it along. we get them from time to time and it's usually at least a week of my kids playing with them for the sadness to fully go away. usually within a day they look recognizable at least

I bought the same axolotl with the crown for my birthday. Claimed it was a twelve inch, but it was six inch at the very best. The crown also came detached, you could tell how they tried to stitch it on there manually but it just fell off at some point during delivery. Mine was a much worse quality then that one, though. Shame because I wanted one with that cute crown. But, I have the birthday balloon ones so I’m happy!
