  • This week, we are at Sembawang Hills Food Centre for lunch.
The stalls here are mainly only opened in the morning till lunch hour. After lunch hour, most stalls will already be closed and it will be very quiet here.
Sembawang Hills Food Centre was built in 1974 to serve the Sembawang Hills Estate. Over the years, it has undergone a few upgrading schemes to become it is today.
The most recent upgrading took place from 1 Feb to 30 Apr 2023 which saw improvements to the table furniture, roof fixtures, bigger fans and lighting.
Now the hawker centre looks so much better for both hawkers and customers. There are 36 cooked food stalls housed here, selling a wide variety of food.
A disadvantage of this hawker centre is its location. It is not near any MRTs at all, and it is best to take the bus here if coming by public transport.
    Here's what we tried:
    1. Jing Ji Fishball Noodle - Fishball Noodle ($3.50 portion).
    2. Seng Huat Duck Rice - Braised Duck Rice Set ($5).
    3. Huey Peng Hiang Chilli Pan Mee - Ban Mian ($4), Pan Fried Dumplings ($5).
    4. Sin Hoe Huat Café - Honey Lemon Drink ($1.60).
    5. Yong Kee Crispy Curry Puff - Curry Puff ($1.20).

Whoa I rarely go Sembawang to eat but this place looks good. I like quieter areas like this. And that duck rice really looks great!

Previously one could get Teochew yam puffs from Yong Kee, though from the looks of it it's removed from the menu now. Would be nice if there's availability during mooncake festival season.
