I just made it and it's gone in minutes. A taste so good you can't stop eating. With bits of celery as garnish, a new level of deliciousness that leaves you craving for more. Thank you for sharing this recipe! 💖
I just found your Chanel i am learning to cook Asian food ive mostly been learning Vietnamese and Cambodian some Thai and Chinese and a little from Japan and the Philippines my father was a chief and taught his children to cook i am now trying to go beyond what he taught us learning more and different foods and it has been an amazing adventure learning to use new things like tamarind and other things i had never heard of or seen
Thanks for the recipe, I made it and it’s sooo good. Would also recommend for anyone else to defrost the ribs in water so the blood will drip out. Also recommend some lemon zest on top of finished product to give it a fresh sweet aroma.
Probably a dumb question, but can I cube country style ribs for this? This looks amazing and it's love to try it, but we don't have ribs like that here.
I’ve been craving these ever since I got a gastric sleeve. I can’t even eat “normal” foods until my stomach has healed and that won’t happen until like 21 days. Send help. I’m starving. All I can eat is clear liquids like soup broth and Gatorade.
Traditionally, the pork is chewy and isn’t as tender as slow cooked western style ribs. But if you cook it longer or use a pressure cooker, you will break down the collagen further and it’ll be softer and the meat will slip off the bones.
When I found the ribs cut like in your video at the asian market , I gave a try to your recipe. It turned out great. We will repeat . Next time I might replace the regular white sugar with brown sugar. Thanks !
Hi. I made followed your recipe. It was delicious!!! My husband really enjoyed them. However, I noticed that there was a slightly meaty smell from the pork. I wanted to know if that was normal. If not if there was a way to get rid of the smell. Thank you
I tried your way this evening. mostly followed your steps. Changed a little bit. I boiled it until fully cooked then fried in pan with about 5 minutes. put wine, soy souse, sugar, vinegar. taste was good. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Tried this morning and turned out delicious! I modified with chopped garlic in the beginning, sugar switched with honey, vinegar switched with lemon zest, and added onion at the end of cooking. Thank you for the wonderful idea 😊😊
Now I know what star anise is used for! Now that subtle flavor is what I remember from buying this in LA. This looks so good and I'm about to cook some ribs and am preparing my ingredients.
@Ivonne, what it does is to boil off all tiny bone pieces clinging deep into the meat, after that, you rinse a couple times with cool water, your meat is completely cleaned.
Great recipe! Came out perfect. Only thing is I subbed Brown Sugar for the Rock Sugar. Enjoyed with a small side of steamed Jasmine Rice. Will definitely make this again. Thank You.

I like this recipe using less oil not deep fry that goes usually to sweet and sour pork. Thanks for posting.

perhaps its best you don't eat things like this if you are in need of a gastric sleeve
The best receipe in TH-cam.
Thank you! It’s one of our favorites!

Mine was yummy, thank you but the pork is so tough, how do I make it softer when I have already boiled it for 30-40 mins? Any tips?
Traditionally, the pork is chewy and isn’t as tender as slow cooked western style ribs. But if you cook it longer or use a pressure cooker, you will break down the collagen further and it’ll be softer and the meat will slip off the bones.
Maybe cook them in the slow cooker several hours add some white wine to stay moist .

nogshim thanks for trying the recipe! if the meat is fresh, you can use ginger or add some more rice wine to get rid of the smell.
nogshim the meat may smell because its not fresh. In that case, you can soak it in vinegar for 3 mins. Rinse it off well. boil water and blanch it.
yday tried and it taste sooo gd. immed send the link to my friends n family members to try this receipe
Thanks so much!
You do not try to peel the membrane of like you do with regular ribs?

Cooked this for dinner and my family loves it! Thanks!
I just made this. It was delicious. My children liked it so much. Thank you!
an we do this with chicken? I need a fast answer as we will be cooking in a few days
Looks great but why take over 45 min. The restaurant I go to takes only 15-20min. Can't you just add less water
1. 1tb rice wine
2. 2tb soy sauce
3. 3tb sugar
4. 4tb rice vinegar
5. Hot water
6. Star
7. Tunggu
8. Dark soy sauce
Added hot peppers and this was a hit !!!! Thank You
Great recipe thanks for sharing your video

Absolutely delicious 😋 if I should say so myself. It was so easy to make. ❤️ from South Africa 🇿🇦
Like the red cutting board color coated is a must to prevent cross contamination 👍🤙🏿✌️😎
Exactly!
I tried this and its superb! Thanks for sharing! 😁😊
Why do you boil the ribs for 2 -3 mnts....what does that do to the rib?
@Ivonne, what it does is to boil off all tiny bone pieces clinging deep into the meat, after that, you rinse a couple times with cool water, your meat is completely cleaned.
Gets rid of impurities in/on the ribs. If you didn't do that for a lot of recipes the meat would have a bad aftertaste
Thank you. I love this dish and buy it all the time. Tonight I made it and it was great thanks to you.
We’re so happy to hear that! If you have a picture, tag us on Instagram!

Sorry what is rice vinegar? Can i use normal vinegar?
It’s most commonly used for making sushi and you can find it in any Asian market. White vinegar or apple cider vinegar is an ok substitute.
Rice vinegar can be substituted with chinkiang vinegar?
Great job!
Thanks!
Why is it the pork ribs doubled in volume and weight after cutting? You a magician?
😂😂😂😂
No garlic or ginger? No scallions for presentation?
VIPKid posted this recipe on the Hutong. It’s absolutely delicious! I will make it again!

Vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, seasoned salt, pepper thats enough for that recipe...come out really good.
This is why youtube should have never gotten rid of thumbs down. It takes 40 MINUTES TO SIMMER.
No ginger ?
I am a bit of a fan of ginger as well. I'd definitely incorporate a good quantity.
Really, really nice. Please make more videos.
Coming soon!

Anise seed or fennel seed would be a better substitute.
