  • Raymond Singer, Ph.D., board certified by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology, with Added Forensic Qualifications, and a full member of the Society of Toxicology, specializes in evaluating the effects of toxic substances on nervous system and behavioral function. He has adapted available technology and methods in behavioral and neural science to applied problems of toxicology, helping scientists, doctors and the public to understand the extent of toxic illness in our society.
His vita shows over 125 books, papers, presentations, abstracts and workshops to his peers and to the public on toxicology-related issues, including presentations to the Society of Toxicology, American College of Toxicology, International Neurotoxicology Association, National Academy of Neuropsychology, American Academy of Forensic Psychology, American Chemical Society, World Congress of Pathology, International Congress of Occupational Health, World Congress of Biological Psychiatry, and the World Health Organization.
Dr. Singer also communicates neurotoxic science to non-scientists, including courts, juries, citizen groups, radio audiences, etc. His opinions have been accepted in numerous state and federal courts in the United States of America regarding disability claims, personal injury matters, and criminal cases, including death penalty cases.
Dr. Singer has served as an expert witness in numerous landmark cases, including the Vietnam Veterans Agent Orange litigation-- wherein he testified that herbicides and dioxins damaged the veterans' nervous systems; the Shilling case in Ohio, wherein the Ohio Supreme Court unanimously opined that a neuropsychologist can testify that plaintiffs' multiple sclerosis-like conditions were due to gasoline poisoning; and the Bonner case, where his innovative forensic methods were upheld after exacting scrutiny by a Federal Appeals Court.
Governmental and other agencies that he has assisted in toxicological matters include the United States Department of Justice - Environmental Crimes Section, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was employed by the National Renewable Fuels Association to inform the United States Congress regarding the relative safety of alcohol based- versus MTBE based - fuel additives. (Against Dr. Singer's recommendations, MTBE was introduced into the US energy supply, only to be found years later to be a persistent and troubling environmental pollutant, now banned in at least 15 states). He has presented written testimony to the Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight of the Committee on Science and Technology , United States House of Representatives, regarding neurotoxic substances at home and in the workplace.
Dr. Singer has assisted German Federal lawmakers regarding neurotoxic chemical problems in our society by lecturing in The Great Hall of Parliament, Wasserwerk, Bonn , funded by and upon invitation of the German Federal Government, SPD Bundestagfraktion.
Dr. Singer was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy degree from Washington State University in 1978. He had been a USA National Institute of Health Post-Doctoral Fellow in Biological Psychiatry, New York University School of Medicine. In addition, he had been a USA National Institute of Health Post-Doctoral Fellow in Environmental Epidemiology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York City, under the direction of Irving J. Selikoff, M.D. (a prominent and pioneering public health scientist and doctor who revealed the widespread toxicological problems of asbestos and other low-level pollutants).

    Thank you for this!
I KNEW it! Not one MD I've consulted over the years would acknowledge that my experience with multiple chemical sensitivity issues was related to antidepressants. I had one ND casually mention Mast Cell Activation Disorder, and I've been able to gain some relief learning about and managing it from that angle.
I came across information about TILT years ago, but only remembered it recently (brain fog), so was happy to hear it mentioned again here.
Of course MDs aren't taught about it, it's a poke in the eye to the toxic chemicals they're taught to push!

@@autorepairfaidate4673Aspirin helps me with the neuropsych symptoms from food reactions. I only take it on a full stomach now because it wears away at your stomach lining over time but for me it’s a tradeoff I’m willing to make. I also stick to eating red meat and green vegetables- I seem to tolerate them the best.

@@autorepairfaidate4673 for eating, use the mcas protocol: H-1 and H2 blockers (like zrtec and famotidine) taken at same time, 30 min before eating. If zrtec causes reaction, try claritan or allegra. Look up academic papers by Leonard weinstock...he lays out the treatment protocol.

You are so lucky to be able to have drs recognize mcas and tilt two years ago! Now it's 2024, drs around me still dont know but they've heard the acronym. 2 yrs ago i still got the eye ball rolls. Regardless of the cause...which is highly debatable...for some it's viral infection, some covid vaccine side effect, some toxin exposure (any toxin but mold is a big one), traumatic event. I have never a heard a theory of antidepressants until now...but in US, drugs are put on market based on immediate symptoms in drug trials and they are only pulled when the long term implications are realized...same with all chemical products. Europe tests the products...long term and doesnt sell anything or any drug till after they have determined it is safe. (Ie...roundup herbicide....in US used for 50 yrs...but a person sued because they could prove they got x disease from the roundup...now it was probably rebranded as a different product with a differently named manufacturing company...US businesses are too sly like...profit over health of individuals at large). So it is possible an antidepressant will eventually be labeled as having toxic ingredients. Need a group (like fb) to start documention.
I digressed sorry...since being chemically sensitive...my mind takes many a tangent without my knowing (ADD like) symptoms...but now in 2024, my pcp is at least receptive to prescribing the mcas treatments that I have researched. She still thinks it's entirely in the immunologic wheelhouse but in 2022 they told me mcas didnt exist...clearly they do not want to deal with patients. MCAS became official diagnosis in 2016 and has been in research publications (using the immunological mast cells) since early 2000s. Unfortunately they say it takes 10-17 yrs for what is found in research to get to drs in the field. While we patients suffer.

Coming of psychiatric meds I became sensitive/allergic to ingredients in soap. My guess was the sulfides, but itching and hives was common until switching to natural products. I cant even be around candles that are burning, or those wax melting pots without getting itchy.

The only thing that works for me is baby shampoo. I put it in all my soap dispensers now. I know it’s not natural but it’s the only thing that doesn’t make my hands flaky and red.

I searched for qeezi and I couldn't find it. I wonder if you'd put a link or something in the description. I was on medication for anxiety and depression for over 20 years and developed a bad reaction leading me to withdrawal from them and find Medicating Normal on the internet. I have bad reactions to perfumes, household cleaners that are store bought, and things like tobacco (I don't smoke but I react to the tobacco on the clothing of others). I react with sinus issues and asthmatic symptoms. I now work from home to avoid these triggers. I make my own cleaner from diluting dish soap (unscented) and from vodka (the liquor that I buy in the cheapest form for cleaning.) I also clean with baking soda but that's it.

I can taste chemicals in my mouth. Dryer sheets are very salty. All free n clear dryer sheets. I don’t use them of course. My stepmom put them in her wash. I seen 3. I talked to her, n I thought she understood. Nope.
She did it agsin last week. I get sick from it. I just wanted to isolate and rest. But my clothes I had to wash 3 n 4 times. My private areas , especially my female get attacked and it goes up into my body. Causes so much pain. And I swallow it also. Saliva. And Now, the toxins have hurt my kidneys and my liver is inflamed.
And my Dad calls me a hypochondriac Again. He was using WEED KILLER. This evening. And I’ve been fighting n battling when he spilt something in their room and Stepmom putting dryer sheets in the wash machine. There are 5 of us that live here. I’m so tired of fighting. And my body now, is not doing well because of all this chemicals. These toxins. And emotionally , it drains me. Do I have to die!! To get them to listen to me???
