For guitar "nerds" this must be a master class interview. For just a super fan of Charlie and the band, it's like listening to technical "gibberish" and I LOVE it. Watching Charlie explaining and demonstrating his pedalboards is almost like listening to a BBS song. Thank you Premier Guitar for this clip! See you in Paris and Brussels in September 2024! The Smoke are coming back to Europe next year... rock 'n roll folks.
I've gone over to a one pickup Firebird and have the chase tone..( among other pedals)..but it is possibly one of the best kept secret pedals out there.. its bizarre....sometimes, depending on guitar, I'll turn it on and you go...hmmm it's not doing a lot...then turn it off and it's like...where the hell has my tone gone....highly recommend it to any guitarist.... Bloody love BS as well...great great band
I found an original 1978 phase 100 box booklets and all Gathering dust in a studio I was at producer said take it home it's junk all it needed was a 9-volt battery clip and now gets used quite frequently

Charlie just seems like a genuinely good dude.
He totally is
Met him a couple years back in Tulsa OK and he was an amazing guy
Whole band is a great group of dudes
He is…as well as the whole band!
what a humble guy, and he can really play, luv the hybrid stuff
By far my favorite guitar player. So talented and humble!!

I’m so glad Charlie seems so genuine and down to Earth.
Played a gig with Charlie in 2017 and he asked me about the Sunface on my board. Super nice talented guy.
Best band around right now
Listen Kids , it's not so much the Gear but the Talent WITHIN!!!! 😊
Super cool guy. Rocking that working man’s rig!
Thank God for Black Berry Smoke good song writing good songs good music what else is there to say
Damn.. I love that Gibson.
Love his tone!
Love that sound, reminds me of Credence “the midnight special”.
The warmest dog gone board I’ve heard recently. Taped down knobs like the permanent markings on the Lennon/Beck Super Beetle.

Good to hear that Phase 45- had one of the first ones back in the day- of course- sold it- and of course, regret it.
Love mine. It's like two pedals. Slow is washy and fast throbby. Always subtle and sweet.

hes definitely a one pickup kind of guy. im begining to agree too
One P90 will do the job😎
Sounds great. Good taste in pedals and approach to gain. Dig the p90.
See to my ear that Vibe pedal made that solid body sound like a chambered body. That was a pretty cool effect actually.
That was as good a commercial for that Sun Face that I've ever seen.
I want to play Six years gone on that guitar!!
straight up guy !!
If I'm the first to say what a badass rig this is do I win a present??
Lol. Text now to receive your free gift!
@revwillyg6450 lol the day I get something will be a miracle
Love me some BBS.
I like his shoes
Hold a second is he running his klon before the fuzz pedal?
Trying to figure out Charlie’s pedal order.
As he is running multiple amps, does anybody know if he is splitting the signal before or after the pedalboard? 🤔
Ryman theatre ?
Uhhhh, what a sound….
Crunchy but defined….
John Charlie have the came styles ..
What is the venue?
The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville
3 string amp.?
As soon as he changed the guitar for a Tele a girl shows up.
And Charlie momentarily forgets what he is trying to say.. 😅😂
@@TT-kf3pk over a girl that's likely not even 18? Not a chance.
I'm kinda surprised that Charlie is running his fuzz after buffers.
Love Charlie Starr. But he doesn’t need pedals other than a tuner. Keith Richards is the proof. Fingers. Guitar. Tubes. Rock and roll. Have mercy.
That fuzz box really didn't do anything for me. I'm big fan of Mr Starr and even he seemed less sure about it.
Centaurs are far from 'TRANSPARENT'. They're mid heavy. Big time.
IKR? To me the words "transparent overdrive" are right up there with "corinthian leather". Marketing terms.
Noice
reupload, lame
Who? Has a what?
I feel like i'm the only one who really thinks phasers sound like ass.
Yep, you're the only one, Sparky.
@@derhandtrommler meh. Guess you just like crap
Not an LP junior guy at all.I kinda like Charlie's tone, but I would ditch that thing for an LP pr a Firebird.
