I honestly didn't think you could be more impressive and then I watched you everyday- build this car from scratch. I am SO proud of you! It rides great, looks good and we have so much fun in it! People forget that you work full time, and then build cars all night (which I know you'd do anyways) and you still always make sure you come in for dinner! This was seriously a heartfelt master build. Congratulations 💜
You 2 really are the best. Can't wait for you all to make it down here...... maybe to Vegas for one of their events, or Utah for the Rat Fink Family Reunion.
Impressive! Going from a field car to a running driving roadster in 6 weeks and for 5k? Forget about the haters, let them post their 1957 homebuilt roadster. Thanks for showing us you don't need a million dollar shop to build million "smile per gallon" ride! No fake patina here, just a working man's dream!! Great work!
Dan, we both know what would have happened to this car had you not bought it. You don't paint them nice, no mirror finish paint job??? Meh, you couldn't leave it in a parking lot anywhere without it getting damaged or worse yet, stolen!! Dan, you can ENJOY your builds!!! YOU'RE the customer!!!! You CAN have it your way!!!!!! Keep rockin' these builds!!!!! Once again, you do what I cannot do. Build cars!!!
Dan you are amazing! The builds are great and you have an awesome work ethic and drive. All the late nights and weekends are such a key in producing these great "everyman" classic cars. Please take care of yourself, get some rest and relaxation so you don't burn out. Looking forward to seeing your visions and creations for a long time!!
This was hands down the best car build I have seen on youtube! It is incredible that you built this car for only 5K , it looks amazing, outstanding job!
I've been watching you TH-cam channel for a long time now, 2 years ago I left a comment that you should build exactly that car, you probably where already going to do just that, thank you for doing just that I knew you could do it. I myself am working on a 1956 chevy sedan delivery, mine is taking a while as I'm handicap, back injury and all that, you however are a great motivator for me. Keep up the good work.
You Inspire Many Dan....Great Job on the Rag Top!---Wish me luck at Duct Tape Drags you and channels like yours inspired me to get an old car and get off the coach and then I started a YT channel to chronicle the Sh%t Show lol I can say none of it is easy but its fun and thank you for that Brotha!
great to see you Danie and Frankie out riding around in the 57 having fun . i been collecting the parts for my 55 chevy convertible conversion for about 5 years . i got almost every part to build it . it's under construction now .
I am truly impressed, not only with your determination to get something done but the speed in which you accomplish it. And working a full time job to boot. Great job Dan.👍👍
This thing kicks ass ...my favorite build so far...I really hope you go the little extra and make even sweeter.......I wish I had neighbors like you guys ! Your my kind of peeps !!
Dan I absolutely love your CONVERTIBLE 57 ,2dr. Conversion . Everyone out there is going to talk shit , but that's because they don't have one and they are HATERS. So you my friend can call it what you want to call it because you own it. I wish people would stop trying to cut everybody down just because they think they know everything. Dan your doing a fantastic job on these cars you're putting back together. Keep up the great work and God Bless you guys and your family. 🔥💯💪🏼👍👍🙏🙏✌😁✌
Great job Dan looks awesome. I’ll say it again this was my favorite build. You all and the car looked awesome driving in the videos. Great job keep up the good work. 👍😎✌️
To go from how this started out to anything that resembles a rolling running hot rod, is true testament to your skills!!! Never ceased to be amazed! Keep up the good work!!
The great thing is you got it drivable to keep up your motivation . You now can take time to find the other parts you need and not stall the project and loose interest like most people do. Great job in an amazing timeline
You did a great job as soon as you find the convertible parts and finish the inside you won’t be able to tail unless you know what you’re really looking at I restore cars so I appreciate what you did
I like the "convertible" . You did save a valuable car no matter what it was before you started. The 55-57 Gods appreciate you Dan. Your drive to finish a car is better then most. And $25,000 is a lot to most of us.
Another great Video from DD Speedshop. If you weren't so good at building cars, you would surely do just as well making any kind of content. It is your humble, easy-going personality that keeps us all coming back for more (and Dani's happy laughter!). Love the way you two are each other's biggest fans. Keep up the excellent work 😁
Again, well Done Dan! Even Mur was in there supporting you during the build.some time to dress it up and maybe find a few nice bits to finish it off. Keep doing what you do, every build is getting better!
Fantastic series, as always. The humble pie looks good on you Dan, but we see and really appreciate your down to earth, git er done talents. And The Queen in your corner is an amazing cheer leader. Cheers!
Your a bow tie man through and through Dan , these relics you call junk are real gems IMO . One day we will see a Camaro of some kind I hope . Keep up the amazing work . Cheers .
Awesome build my friend! You should be proud, you saved American history ! I would be driving the heck out of that car, great project. I pulled my 1971Pontiac LeMans GT-37 from a junkyard in N.C. doing the restoration as much on the budget friendly as possible. Junkyards have great parts to keep you back on the road!
Dan awesome build , you are right the money you have in this car you could not buy even at the stage the car is in. Great job enjoy the fruits of your labor
You did great on this build your a good creator lol you learn how we southern boys say you made chicken salad out of chicken shit.. also you need to start doing your own seat covers like Jonathan W..
i did just that , i bought an old industrial sewing machine and watched many you tube how to make car seat cover videos . i did a red vinyl pleated seat cover for my 66 f100 custom cab , i copied a $400. seat cover that i wanted to buy . it cost me $100 to make it myself .
great build Dan just goes o show you can make what you want if you have the skills and imagination. Definitely a ton of work but you did a great job brining that old bucket back to life.
You are braver than I am Dan. There is no way i could cut one apart and redo it like you did.My 55 is a 4 door sedan,I did just about everything you can do to one mechanically to fix it up.I think every bolt on the car has been apart. But body work like this one....nope cant see me doing it and having anything when I got done. You did great on the money too,I have about 8500 American in mine.I bought and saved parts for quite a few years before I put them on,so time wise you have me beat as well.Ive actually had my car since 1988,I tinkered with it some in High School.I graduated in 1994,it set until 2011 before I did anything else to it.
It has been a fun trip watching you thru this one. It really is a special car and a keeper...kinda like the queen. Look forward to what comes next for the ROADSTER over the winter..
Enjoyed every minute of this build. Just image what it would be worth all painted up with a rag top of sorts. Have fun enjoying the fruits of your labour
Dan, I see your need for the correct windshield frame and the only way to do this right is to locate a true Convertible windshield frame and be done with it. Once you have this part in hand you will be able to finish your Ragtop and put that smile back on your face. Donor parts and new reproduction parts are available in the States. What you can do by yourself and what you do is amazing. Finish your Ragtop.
Great video Dan, I enjoyed the whole build. Just for the record Chevrolet did make a 2dr and a 4dr hardtop in the 210 series. I don't know how rare the 210 4dr hardtops are but I know the 210 2dr hardtops are a lot more rare than the Belair 2dr hardtops. Making them a pretty sought after car. Thanks for the video
Hey Dan I cannot say this enough (in my opinion), you do not give yourself enough credit for what you create. This is a beautiful car and you both look great in it. 👍🏼😎👍🏼 You have my 👍🏼 Take care of Yourselves😁
Thus is such a great example of what can be achieved on a small budget if you're prepared to out the hours in, i can totally see this evolving in to a really convincing convertible for a third of the cost ofa genuine item.
I think you did an awesome job on it ! Even Dani posted a nice "Awe" ! She was ready to go on that maiden voyage ! Even Mur was getting nice cruising shots ! You nailed it on this car . A little iffy on the floor pan replacement , but you got it done , she rides flat & straight . That means the end justifies the means . You still need to paint the bottom of the frame , but you can do that when you go back through for final paint . Lol ! Outstanding Man !
This thing is off the hook cool Dan. It deserves the next level work, once again I lobby for your weekend panel at a time at Mur's over the winter idea. ✌
It turned out awesome and I would drive it all over 👍 I’m gonna have to go back and watch the other videos! I’m watching this one at a hot spot. Ida took out all the internet. Looks awesome and keep up the great work 👊
Car is awsome as it is..... Exellent work my friend. What you have invested in it and what it is big score for you buddy. You cant find a car like that for a little over 5 grand impossible. Keep up the great work my friend shout out to you from México.... Love the build
The original car was just waiting to be crushed. Nothing was really lost by you cutting it up into what it is now. It now has a new lease on life and may serve as an example to put some other less desirable cars back on the road. This thing has become one of my favorites - taking a pretty much used up unwanted parts car and turning it into a cruiser that people love to see and you enjoy driving.
Great and fantastic work! I think the top frame of the windshield could be made from a trunk floor panel, from this: 1955-1957 Chevy Trunk Splash Panel, Hardtop, Sedan, Convertible (OS). That's only $ 100. I have a 4-door 1955 Bel Air and am doing the restauration. I'm drawing ideas from you. Welcome, László from Hungary
There's a restored 1956 Bel Air convertible on our local craigslist for $117,500.00 USD. It's a beaut but I'd rather have yours. Once again, nice work!
Dan it turned out great! You don’t give yourself enough credit, you build great cars and you inspire us to build our own (well at least me). Great channel I wish the best for you both!
Hey I agree 100 % Snake. Give urself a break Dan. That thing Looks Fantastic from 20 feet. 😂 Which is not a bad thing. I'd leave all the cut trim. That proves it was a four door car that you made! YeeHaw! 😎
I have to admit I was skeptical when you started this one. Actually it looks really good. Yeah it still needs a few things but now you have a ragtop and a cool story to go along with it!
@@douganderson7002 Laugh all you want, but saying 'anyone can do it' and the costs are $5K doesn't begin to cover what has really gone into the car - many hours of skilled labor that most folks don't have - maybe a hobby but you sort of negated the skill involved.

Well said Dani this was my favorite build. You all looked awesome cruising in the video. 👍😎✌️
Don't sell yourself short, Dani. Dan wouldn't be able to get all the work he does done without an awesome lady supporting him!
You 2 really are the best. Can't wait for you all to make it down here...... maybe to Vegas for one of their events, or Utah for the Rat Fink Family Reunion.
Behind every great man is a great woman.
Hi Queen ur #3 waving 😉
Man after my own heart! Can't afford it, no problem, I'll build it from scrap! Well done, Dan!
$10,000 labor! Ur a machine!!! 👍👍🙏🙏
It was a very impressive build. I watched from beginning till end. It’s amazing what one person and determination can do. Have fun driving it!

We can't even calculate the value of all the awesome experiences you both share on this site, all the things your builds teach to others. Well done.
*Turned out REAL Nice!!!!!*
Watching you change her makes me want to try the same thing one year!
Wow! It has a California one-piece front bumper! Nice.
Great work Dan!! Having all the other parts made it work. Enjoy!! Cheers!!
I had 57 Chevy 210 that was a 2 door hardtop, back in the late 60's.
Its Lookin Good Dan !! 👍😊
The car looks great!
You guys epitomize the true spirit of hot ridding. Great job
No, Dan, anyone can't do it. You are an artist. I watched this from the beginning and I still can't believe it.
One big thing about it....If it's what you want it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks or says about it! I like it!
Effin awesome Dan, I appreciate the work you do. Forget the haters, you rock the 4 door conversion. Call it what you like, I call it way cool.
Amazing, amazing build. You are rightly proud of this conversion!

I hope the answer was yes. 😀
I was glad to watch this car being built and i think it looks cool also!!! Keep it and finish it the way you want to!!!!

When I saw the title to this video I immediately went oh no don't sell the convertible lol My second thought was I could probably afford it
Nice job! You did more in a couple months than a lot can do in years.
I can't wait till you give it a awsome paint job!!!!! She deserves it!!!
It hard to believe just a few months ago you were struggling to get to 57000 subs now 77000 ,way to go Dan and Danni!!
Great build enjoyed watching the whole thing. The color looks like it belongs on the car. Going to fancy up the interior? Thanks for the walk around.
Love it! When you unloaded it off the trailer I thought that one was probably too far gone, but look at it now! Definitely a one of a kind car 👍
Dan it's a 57 Chevy convertible keep smiling & cruising. Well done👍👍👍👍👍😎

You did a great job. thanks for letting us watch.

I own the only 210 4 door hardtop I have ever seen live. The internet shows a 2-3 others (one is a fuelie). So rare but sadly not valuable.
Hey Dan
I cannot say this enough (in my opinion), you do not give yourself enough credit for what you create.
This is a beautiful car and you both look great in it.
👍🏼😎👍🏼
You have my 👍🏼
Take care of Yourselves😁
Awesome job in rescuing this one from the crusher, and making something cool out of it!
Who would rip you a "new one"? You ripped that carcass a "new one" and saved it from the scrap heap! Well done Danny boy!
Thus is such a great example of what can be achieved on a small budget if you're prepared to out the hours in, i can totally see this evolving in to a really convincing convertible for a third of the cost ofa genuine item.

Its all about having fun, really nicely done.
Also, remember how the 60s and 70s drag cars often had a name painted on the side? This one needs "Counterfeit" painted down the side.
Awesome conversion. She's ready for a snow plough.
I do love that mat chocolate primer - such class!
Brilliant build, I think this has been so enjoyable to watch and follow …
Car is awsome as it is..... Exellent work my friend. What you have invested in it and what it is big score for you buddy. You cant find a car like that for a little over 5 grand impossible. Keep up the great work my friend shout out to you from México.... Love the build
Awsome work Dan drive it enjoy it
The ones people spent 150k are not driven

There's a restored 1956 Bel Air convertible on our local craigslist for $117,500.00 USD. It's a beaut but I'd rather have yours. Once again, nice work!
You guys are awesome and the convertible as well! I would keep it forever and cruise it till the cows come home!! (whatever that means)
You did great job it's really coming together and you look so happy driving it and that's what matters 😁😁😁😁 love it
DD Speed Shop keep the awesome content coming. Want to see that Black Widow become a beast.
Another nice project! Small detail, not all hardtops werre Bel Airs as you said, the 2 and 4 door hardtop came as a 210 as well.
I think there kool builds and I can’t wait to start on my very own! Sure wish I had bought a few donors when they were really cheap!! Just keep it to!
Would have liked to see the orignal hardtop able to reclamp to the body, but this was great to watch, thanx!
Well done , Dan you always do the maximum impact with the minimum cost . 👍🇦🇺 try 5 on.
You did a great job...only a Pegger could pull this off Cheers from Vietnam
You made it look EASY!!!!
Kudos Bro💥💥💥
Turned out real good Dan, side trim would really be nice, nailed it buddy
A great build but you didn't add in your time (which was significant and skilled) on top of the $5K. Always amazed at what you're able to accomplish.
@@douganderson7002 Laugh all you want, but saying 'anyone can do it' and the costs are $5K doesn't begin to cover what has really gone into the car - many hours of skilled labor that most folks don't have - maybe a hobby but you sort of negated the skill involved.
I got to say that car looks great, but the best thing is you saved this from the scrap yard and kept 1 more tri 5 on the road. cool
Hey Dan how about a removable Carson top California style
Everyone loves it because it's COOL! Another wicked tri 5 from DD SPEED SHOP!
Dan the car is Awesome , nice job !
Awesome job man I am almost watched all of your videos and I plan to continue be kind of cool tech come up to Canada and have a couple cold snacks with you
