Lol YES!! Gold leaf is such a rough material to work with sometimes! Patience is key and I NEVER have enough lolol. Love to see you working with perspective! Thats something that I would really like to get into too!! Also I enjoy you having your partner help with planning. My lady often provides input in the background too!! Loved everything about all of this! Well done as always sistuh Shuz!!!
Thank you Chuck for the encouraging comment as always!! :D lol yeah it's super rough and I'm surprised how fragile it is! I filmed this a few weeks back, but to this day I'm still finding gold leaf crumbs on the floor, on my clothes, everywhere lol And your lady has great taste, I'm always a big fan of your backgrounds :D
That's amazing! I love videos with gilding :D And I certainly love the results and the painting itself. I'm not sure if that's even possible with watercolors and your techniques, but usually you don't want to do painting and after that apply the gold. Fake gold is less stickier than the real gold, but even in this case it may stuck to the painting itself where you don't want it to be. Instead, you might want to start with gilding, then clean the edges a bit to make them sharp and then you can start painting the rest.
Thank you for the information! that is really useful, I didn't know gold is typically applied before, I think I've only seen it once used as full gold background. I should definitely try this, maybe switching to a smoother paper as well? thank you so much for the idea, and I'm glad you like the painting :D
Amazing as always! Loved the theme and the composition 😍
Everything looks so perfect!! It was absolutely a good idea to switch to a very light and colorful background, it looks very festive!
Thank you very much! :D
Great job Shuzi! The color cards are such a good idea. I will need to try those.
Thank you so much! Glad you like the cards idea, they were fun to make too :D
