I own the Beretta A400 Xcel and I absolutely love it! I did have to send it in because it was not ejecting some of the spent cartridges. I believe that I sent it in to their repair partner in New Hampshire. They added some custom features that I wanted and polished everything from top to bottom. It’s like I have a $10,000 shotgun now. The Beretta shotguns are something that you will pass on to your children’s children.

Nice features in that shotgun. I've had a Beretta Pintail with a synthetic stock for 25 years. A lot of rounds through that gun.
If you do an in depth review, would be interested in you going over the bolt release, which I believe was redone in 2018.

On the KE Arms website, the direct mounts offered are for Mossberg and Remington.
There's nothing that specifically says A440 or Beretta 1301 Comp Pro.
Can you provide a SKU for the direct mount he's referenced, please?

btw, I've owned both the Beretta 1301 GEN @ and both the Benelli M4 (too heavy) and the M2 (its excellent)....the 1301 is the best of both worlds and its about $1100 bucks and looks amazing.....and its NEVER FAILED.....YET and it has about 1000 shells through it....

If loaded, do not accidentally hit the bolt release. It will dump two shells on to the carrier and jam the gun. My 1301 kicks like a mule and only likes the high velocity 7 1/2 shells. The regular 7 1/2 shells wont cycle the gun consistently regardless how clean or lubed it is. Still love it though

This and other shotguns are great for taking out drones in this new world tyranny upon us , use the steel shot shells for better damage.
Just make the Shotgun from the Halo series or the "Combat Shotgun" from the Fallout series and call it a day. Shotguns are now a niche and likely declining market.
AKlover right up until they take your high capacity weapons of war, like, anything that holds more than 2 rounds. It’ll happen. I’d rather have a shotgun with 2 slugs than a revolver with 4 welded up holes

The Beretta 1301 variants are very competitive against the Benelli, probably the only other semi-auto shotguns at that level of performance.
Or an 870 for less than half

@@youknowitsmetheone I think they're both the best. It depends on your priorities. Personally, I think the Beretta is better than the Benelli M4 and M2. It's lighter and yet doesn't have more percieved recoil. It also has an excellent reputation for reliability and feeding a variety of ammo. It seems like the Berettas are constantly improving, while the Benellis have been the same for years. Beretta just introduced a stock with hydraulic buffers to lengthen the recoil impulse so it's not as snappy. The aftermarket is good, just like Benelli, and you can now buy a 1301 LTT that's got all the features. The Benelli is harder to buy in the more desirable configuration (collapsible stock, magazine tube extension, etc.) The Benelli is more expensive but the only thing better about it is that it's got more of a history of hard use, being a military gun, the fit and finish is topnotch as one should expect from the most expensive semi-auto shotgun on the market, and it has that great collapsible stock. Most shotgun stocks are too long for an aggressive shooting stance, especially with body armor on. But you can put the 1301 in the Magpul stock which is very satisfactory for most people. The Beretta is lighter, less expensive, arguably just as reliable, and might even recoil less all things considered. It's probably got the best gas system of any shotgun. I think the 1301 and M4 are both at the top and it's just a matter of preference of which features a person values more. I would like to see a shotgun that combines the best features of both and is clearly the best but it doesn't exist. Right now these two Italian shotguns, from two companies with common ownership, are the best. Both of them. Often one is better fit for a particular shooter than the other.
