We don't know what it means to bait out an attack, or what the counterplay is, or what else might be going on inside the combatants heads. We don't need to know any of the dynamics of combat in The Isle to understand the situation that someone who is sitting on an island with a Deino in the lake around them is in.

You'd be surprised how many people hack on the Isle. If you don't know what to look for it can be hard to spot, but a lot of people just have ESP which means they know where everyone around them is at all times. You can't hide and they know if you're looking at them.
But isn't the whole idea being that they have the face shield so they aren't taking a major injury? So they SHOULD be able to "face" tank other dinos. That is the whole point.
Or demonstrates the absolute need to add a new apex land predator that can go toe to toe with a dibble and drob one without a group. Currently, an adult dibble is pretty much unassailable. One skilled dibble can hold off 4 adult ceras, which is dumb. It would also be nice to have an adult predator that could drink confident that a deino can't simply snatch it off the shore like a baby duck. We desperately need a 4 ton apex.
That’s one thing I really love about this game, that even drinking water can be stressful, you never know what’s hiding under the surface. I don’t play Deino often, mostly because I’m alway getting cannibalized, but I definitely get the appeal, though I wouldn’t want to be stuck in a lake. Ambushing is a lot of fun though, like with Herrera, when it’s successful it feels good.
I was wondering how the hell did the dibble that was attacking you, not die? 22:18. Full grown deinos, do 500 damage and a dibble has 3000 health. That means it would be 6 body bites to kill em. Biting them from the head does less damage but, you hit him much more times than he would die from. Sus
How is hacking in a dino game lower than hacking in gta? Isn't the end result the same? Someone gets an unfair advantage in a VIDEO game. At the end of the day it is a pvp game. The models being dinos instead of humans is irrelevant.

Yea Highlands is best to go to when you're fully grown as the journey is safer and quicker, the prey at Highlands is generally big ... and 99%of the time there's another 100% Croc, and 98% of the time there's two 100% crocs which is a death sentence. Best play at Highlands with a partner to give you a better chance. Highlands is the best lake by far. I have good memories of trying to grow babies there and hiding from big gates down in the depths as there's lots of good hiding spots. For newer deino players, stick to Delta, its really good atm and although there's loads of other deino's there, you can see them early and run
I just don't know where to sit for land dinos to actually come. I usually see a few if there happens to be a zone on the river but other than that I'm starving once I get grown
@dyess6568 in Highlands? Do you play official or unofficial, cos I think unofficials are the only playable servers now there aren't hot spots, need 200 player servers these days. I can see why officials might be a struggle at times, but normally when I'm at Highlands there's always dinos around (in unofficial)
@dinometta yea I'm growing my current gator there now. Mainly come across gator duos but it's a nice place to stay alive as a solo. Still think peak deino was at East plains pond as you could normally defend that solo, and getting there and growing felt like such an accomplishment, as well as just being a spectator to the chaos at that pond 🤣
No carno equals safe growing. Being offensive typically means the offensive based species has to spend a lot of time healing back up and potentially eco starving them
Boredom. Other two comments are right, and boredom is another thing. Ain’t much to do as an herbivore when you’re fully grown really, so you actively seek out combat because that’s really the only thing to do in the game.
To add my two cents on why I love deino videos - I'm floridian and have a love and fear of gators, so seeing the big gator is always a fun joy! Plus I have to imagine there's something instinctual for us there - we learned to fear the big fat bastards and avoid the murky waters because of them, but other carnivore dinos like cera are old enough that while obviously seeing one IRL would be quite the scare and we know intellectually we'd fear them - giant carnivores with fangs are scary! - we dont have the primal fear of them we might a croc/gator due to them never interacting with the modern human. Either way, love your videos, you're easily one of my favorite Isle content creators out there! I love how you turn them almost into documentaries at times, like when you had that cera video and gave them the name and commentated like you were observing her, not playing as her!
That makes a lot of sense! Yeah, I need to make another documentary video. It's been a hot minute and those are honestly my favorite to narrate because the story just kind of is discovered mid-edit. It's like finding an old friend and them telling their life story without words
Hey Metta! Nice video! Started to play The Isle recently. About 10 dinos in and only 1 was adult croc. But with that croc I made the journey to Water Access from North Lake. Takin on every waterfall. I don't know if u know that part of map where North Lake river has that huge long water fall in a tiny canyon. I went blazin in and fell down with my gully grown croc and didnt get dmged whatsoever. My packmate who was about 70% asked if did I get hurt I said nah but be careful. 1 thing led to another I see their name just fall down and just boop out of existence. Funniest shit I've seen and that was with my 3rd dino overall. I died cuz tried to cannie another full grown croc cuz I was starvin and had skill issue.
As a deino main, I actually like seeing other dinos. I watch those to attempt, emphasis on attempt, to get better at playing land based dinos. As for the fascination with deinosuchus, mine is that I don't get much time to actually play the aisle, so I CAN get kills as deino. It's a very low skill dino.
That's fair, deino is definitely one of the lower skill playables. If you know where to wait, kills are very easily achieved with the "hold right click to win" haha
The way you died is honestly so sad, goldfish and I died in a similar way on our pachys a few nights ago. Two range and speed hacking ceras ran us down and killed us in 2-3 bites each and we couldn't escape, not even the log in highlands was high enough ground to escape the bite range they get with those hacks. It's just sad...
Yeah, it is so incredibly frustrating. Especially since it takes literally 0 skill for them to get kills this way and it's incredibly difficult to escape or avoid them
@dinometta I'm new to the game but lack of food or spots where players are remotely around gets frustrating ;( I'm gonna join your disc maybe you can help me get started without not giving the game up completely. I think I should have went with path of titans even though it has its flaws
@DrewciferNY007 hey! Yeah, the game is definitely rough to get started on! Check out my most recent Livestream, I'm beginning a thing called newbie nights on Fridays where I hop on the game with new players and walk them through how to get started, answer questions, and offer tips on survival
I'm the complete opposite when it comes to deinos. I love playing deino. There's something about the slow but dramatic growth in power that fascinates me. I also often make it to adulthood, so I enjoy pushing myself to see how long I can survive because I refuse to kill other deinos unless they attack me first, or I see them attacking others, which means that food can be scarce and allies even scarcer (if you're in a deino hotspot that, cannibals don't take lightly to you killing their friends). Plus, I like hanging around the known spawn points and playing body guard for the fresh spawn.
Metta, really enjoy your videos! and thanks for the answer on the night vision topic on another video. I still dont like how its pitch black with some of the playables... there should be at least a two meter range where every playable can see something imo... but well. I love playing the Croc but I find it soo hard to find prey and when you get to 100% the little fishes jumping around do nothing for you :) Great video! keep up the good work!
Yeah, deino at night is pure pain under the water. And fish in general are harder to stay alive on. It'll get better once there's more semi-aquatic animals to eat though
Honestly, after this experience, using highland lake to escape things trying to kill me feels even better than before because if I do get grabbed by a deino while swimming away from my problems.... I'm probably feeding someone who has been struggling on the verge of starvation haha
Ty for the journey Metta!! So sorry you dealt with that. Anyone who has to hack to feel better about themselves probably has terrible hygiene and a limited vocabulary pool.
In my opinion growing Deino is most boring thing in the Isle, compared to Gateway map you have kind of small space to move in and waters in Eveima are so boring to love in to have at least some fun you have to get to South Plains which is kind of difficult and time hungry
And now you know that a solid 50% of land deinos are really just desperate for food. It's really unfortunate that you didn't play when dibbles first launched. Food was so plentiful that I nested and raised my hatchlings with a random player, AS A DEINO. it was genuinely one of the most fun and unique experiences I've had since launch.
Oh I know they're desperate xD I still just find it highly amusing to bother them. I did actually play deino back when dibble first released! Great fun! I miss my swamp
When gateway first came out I still had such bad ptsd from deinos lol. Intense anxiety around water at all times. Nowadays I just drink from anywhere with little fear. Wide rivers that would normally get you killed in a heartbeat by crocs are completely unpopulated, and even if a body of water does have crocs I don't have to go far to find a complete safe spot. It's nice not having to worry constantly about getting water and losing all my progress instantly. But it does make deino far less viable on this map.
Were the hacking dibbles on EU servers, more particularly EU2??? If so those are the same bastards who killed my entire dilo pack and literally tracked my ass down all over no matter where I went, ended up logging before they could kill me but if they are the same bastards I understand the pain
The ending with the hackers got me so angry I hope u reported theme. Also u where supposed to destroy the land denos not join theme and hope u got that Star Wars reference.
Dying to hackers in a game like The Isle is one of those things that really leeches the experience. There's a feeling of what the game is supposed to be, and That Ain't It. Not for the hackers, and not for the people who have to interact with them.
Yeah, it was incredibly disappointing. If I'd died to Dibbles that were playing fair while I was land deino marching, then okay. But when they're able to stand outside your hitbox and just spam click to kill you.... Like brethren where is the satisfaction of playing skillfully and winning honorably??

@@AussieMarshmallowCurious how high your ping goes. I am in WA and my ping used to average around 200 but after thr maia update I started getting horrible ping spikes up to 550 ping!
You started this off like it was gonna be a horror movie
It was my own personal horror movie xD
Just me or anyone else have land deno ptsd even as a sarco on path of titans I'm half expecting Metta to pop up with a evil "Land Deno" battle cry and send me running back to the water
Lol I've done it on PoT before too 🤣
@dinometta lmao oh I do it as well most sarcos hate my albino laten I just got the 10k marks for it not to long ago working on my stego now about 8600 already I did spair one baby sarco I had just finished growing my sarco and I found a baby sarco on my laten in grand plains 3 titans not 50 feet from it I felt bad and let it live then again probably more torture than if I had killed it rofl it was coming from ic that's a long ass walk rip
7:02 hoooly, that's actually genuinely very smart, nice play!!
Haha you'd be surprised how often it works too!
its a shame the game is a fun concept but i cant go a single play session without encountering hacks, just like this
It's very frustrating tbh
I didn't even know there were cheats like that...thats so gross.
Those ones are the worst. Speed hackers and esp hackers I can handle. But when they can hit me while actively running away from me, it's an issue
You'd be surprised how many people hack on the Isle. If you don't know what to look for it can be hard to spot, but a lot of people just have ESP which means they know where everyone around them is at all times. You can't hide and they know if you're looking at them.
Your battle with that dibble that did nothing to avoid your attacks clearly represents how overpowered health wise they are.
Dibble is stupid OP. In a facetank where a deino doesn't grab them and drown them, a dibble can actually win
@@GeorgeMonetthe frill was too thin to tank a bite. It was too fragile.
I've discovered your youtube channel about 6 months ago and i am so happy when you upload ! Another great video as always !
I'm glad you found your way here!
Ambushing is very fun. I just definitely prefer a more mobile playstyle
7:45 "and then someone lunged...and it was NOT farmer" that was hilarious
xD
I was wondering how the hell did the dibble that was attacking you, not die? 22:18. Full grown deinos, do 500 damage and a dibble has 3000 health. That means it would be 6 body bites to kill em. Biting them from the head does less damage but, you hit him much more times than he would die from. Sus
Hitboxes are different. Sometimes a Deino body bite is just a tail bite
This video is giving me such Shrek vibes as you keep wanting to go back to the swamp 🤣
Haha very intended xD there's a reason I called her Fiona 🤣
I love the Isle, I'm normally a Deino main. It's so crazy to me people hack in a dinosaur survival game haha fuck
It's ridiculous honestly
swamps really is a sparse graveyard of starved/drowned/etc. players and nothing else lately, save some fish and the occasional boar/goat
What's the point in saving a kill when in disappears in about an hour? Fish don't even last THAT long.
@gurumagoo in the grammatical context of my comment "save" didnt mean "keep aside" it meant "except for"
''The water churns violently'' she says, while the image had the stillest water I've ever seen... 🤣
Lmao it's not my fault the isle's water likes to look like still pools even when deinos are flailing their targets around in it xD
@ was just funny, but also slightly immersion-losing, lol.
Hacking in a dinosaur game has to be the lowest bottom feeder tier of person in gaming
Agreed
How is hacking in a dino game lower than hacking in gta? Isn't the end result the same? Someone gets an unfair advantage in a VIDEO game.
At the end of the day it is a pvp game. The models being dinos instead of humans is irrelevant.
@@GeorgeMonet you don't get anything. like...literally. you can't eat your prey or see how mad it is right now or anything else. god damn, you we don't even have scores or smh like this in The Isle. you simply don't get anything and this is why it's lower than cheating in GTA
She just dropped the video out of nowhere while Im having dinner💀 great! Now I don't have to scroll shorts!! THANK YOU
Yoo great timing!
@ yee
Poor Metta being forced to become land deino. 😢 I am sorry for your loss.
It was pure torture 😂
Man hackers on petits is a worrying trend to see, lets hope the admins take care of it quickly like they normally do.
Just more evidence that Petits isn’t worth anyone’s time.
Those were on EU2, I moved from petits to officials after deino spawning got locked
How is petits server are they generally pretty good asking since trying to avoid hackers and mix packs best i can
@@namesvale5904 yes, petits is great. I just don't play it often because of the higher ping for me
@@namesvale5904 its better for sure, but ive still seen em there. my favorite was a full diet 55kt galli getting run down from behind by a raptor lol. Not catching from acceleration, but like already running top speed just zooming up behind you.
i'm always amazed on how you can make even a boring gameplay sound awesome. Deinos are deffinetly not my jam and you make it sound amazingly dinamic
Haha it has its own version of fun. Definitely not really my favorite though
You are the reason why i only take two sips then run to another spot
Haha good thing I very seldom play deino xD
“Too small to be of any consequence” - good to see that my cera was appreciated XD
Haha it kept me alive with an additional 7% food xD but boy were your organs disappointing for Farmer xD
@ it was a pretty funny death on my end. Fighting a bunch of raptors, hear footsteps in a bush thinking it’s another raptor, am met with the face of a deino
@denofsouls9564 haha oh man xD I'll bet I gave you a good spook!
This is the first time seeing an Beipi be allowed to swim peacefully above two Deinons
Whenever I play the duck I keep getting chased haha
I very seldom bother beipis on gator. Only if I'm on the verge of starvation(red food)
4:02 Yeah, I have the same experience with highlands. if I go there as a deino there's no others but if I chance going there as beipi suddenly it's swarming with them.
Haha for real though
Can anyone explain what an "outcast gator" is for those of us who don't play?
It's a feature exclusive to the unofficial server Petit Pieds basically if you cannibalize or kill a shitton of babies for fun you turn into an outcast and get a bounty on you, stuff like herbi on herbi violence or nest griefing would probably also do it
Once i got chased over 20 minutes by a dibble as a cera , he didnt saw me for 2 minutes, then suddenly everytime he catched up to me and knew exactly in which bush i was lying.
I almost uninstalled.
More metta I am happy 😊
You and farmer were living an anime tragedy this episode... 😮💨😮💨
For real though
8:33 Bless him, he tried
I took his food apparently xD
Cost of sanity :D
Yaaaay sanity!!
1:09 I don't like it for it's gameplay hence why I almost never play it, and when I do it's not because of it's gameplay, it's because "big lizard cool".
Fair 😂 When I play it I'm usually playing with the hope of drowning a few stegos or dibbles. Or just "for the content" so to speak haha
Love these videos!
I'm glad you enjoy them!
As a Deino main. The joy comes from striking fear into the hearts of others who need to drink. Lol
Hahaha fair
@@dinomettaAnd in my opinion one of the coolest looking Dino’s.
Yup! Delta is the best place to be a gator right now. And even then it can still be rough at times
25:08 LOL!!!!! One of my favorite lines in this video.
😂 I thought you might get a kick out of that
5:38 i will never understand why Herbivores attack carnivores on sight.
🌟No rules 🌟
No carno equals safe growing. Being offensive typically means the offensive based species has to spend a lot of time healing back up and potentially eco starving them
Preemptively protecting yourself before the carnivore lashes out is acceptable, from a carni point of view
Boredom. Other two comments are right, and boredom is another thing. Ain’t much to do as an herbivore when you’re fully grown really, so you actively seek out combat because that’s really the only thing to do in the game.
@@Eleganciaaaaaa really? Is that how people feel? I just like walking around i dont have to worry about food because grass is everywhere
The way you snapped back at that Herrera was fucking hilarious 😂😂😂
Yoinked xD
I was the bush you hid in as a juvie
Lol I believe it
I stumbled upon your channel by chance. I love your content. Keep up the good work. :)
@On1_Ryu I'm glad you enjoy it! Welcome to the channel!
Fiona the Flabby is literally the best name for a gator I've ever heard
😂
Your deino videos are always my favorite!
Glad you like them! :D
YEAHHH MORE METTA POSTING!!
Especially since it takes literally 0 skill for them to get kills this way and it's incredibly difficult to escape or avoid them
This video ends and I look at the queue... Position 1. Cheers!
Have fun!
You have such a calm yet relaxing voice! You should start doing audiobooks
That would be an adventure haha
@dinometta I'm new to the game but lack of food or spots where players are remotely around gets frustrating ;( I'm gonna join your disc maybe you can help me get started without not giving the game up completely. I think I should have went with path of titans even though it has its flaws
@DrewciferNY007 hey! Yeah, the game is definitely rough to get started on! Check out my most recent Livestream, I'm beginning a thing called newbie nights on Fridays where I hop on the game with new players and walk them through how to get started, answer questions, and offer tips on survival
Ain’t no way the dibble can take more than 10 fully grown deino bites😭
I'm the complete opposite when it comes to deinos. I love playing deino. There's something about the slow but dramatic growth in power that fascinates me. I also often make it to adulthood, so I enjoy pushing myself to see how long I can survive because I refuse to kill other deinos unless they attack me first, or I see them attacking others, which means that food can be scarce and allies even scarcer (if you're in a deino hotspot that, cannibals don't take lightly to you killing their friends). Plus, I like hanging around the known spawn points and playing body guard for the fresh spawn.
Man, pacifist deino life has gotta be difficult! It's hard enough when you do cannibalize right now!
Don't mind me, trying to find more sus Metta moments
I was the elite fish you ate. Wasn't bothering nobody 😭😭
i was playing herra with a huge pack of like ten or something until 6 of us died when a cerato was biting us off mountains
Dang. Range hackers are such a pain. Just the absolute definition of unskilled
8:00 You have become the very thing you’d sworn to destroy…
Such a tragedy
Well im glad you did this. I hope the likes are worth the sanity
Haha I hope so too xD
The hatred I have for cheaters is indescribable.
Same.
This is why theres land deinos, deinosuchus has been nerfed to oblivion.
Yup, in many cases they are literally desperate
One Last Metta Video Before Going to Bed 😂
Heck yeah, nighty night!
I was convinced deino can't grab an adult stego and always avoided them... Stupid is as stupid does
Haha well now you know!!
I always try to find a deino if I want to respawn, I love the gator life and like to make sure people can live after so many hours of work.
Honestly, after this experience, using highland lake to escape things trying to kill me feels even better than before because if I do get grabbed by a deino while swimming away from my problems.... I'm probably feeding someone who has been struggling on the verge of starvation haha
@@dinometta its the best part of The Isle when you die you know someone gets to stay alive
Ty for the journey Metta!! So sorry you dealt with that. Anyone who has to hack to feel better about themselves probably has terrible hygiene and a limited vocabulary pool.
I'm glad you enjoyed the journey!
In my opinion growing Deino is most boring thing in the Isle, compared to Gateway map you have kind of small space to move in and waters in Eveima are so boring to love in to have at least some fun you have to get to South Plains which is kind of difficult and time hungry
Maybe I'll try South plains next time. That's an area I haven't bothered to try and reach
ARRGG GET OUT OF ME SWAMP 😱
Hahaha swampy murky stinky gator xD
When gateway first came out I still had such bad ptsd from deinos lol. Intense anxiety around water at all times. Nowadays I just drink from anywhere with little fear. Wide rivers that would normally get you killed in a heartbeat by crocs are completely unpopulated, and even if a body of water does have crocs I don't have to go far to find a complete safe spot.
It's nice not having to worry constantly about getting water and losing all my progress instantly. But it does make deino far less viable on this map.
Yeah, honestly every time I play deino, I'm surprised by how few of them I find in major waterways most of the time
Were the hacking dibbles on EU servers, more particularly EU2??? If so those are the same bastards who killed my entire dilo pack and literally tracked my ass down all over no matter where I went, ended up logging before they could kill me but if they are the same bastards I understand the pain
Yup, those are the ones. I've crossed them several times there
Yeah, I've stumbled across them on a couple of occasions there as well.
ur ping in petit is better then in officeal lol
EU official vs petits xD I prefer NA 30-42 ping
Hey, if you really want to suffer, try to play saltwater Deino and live in the Mudflats. Now THAT'S hardmode. 😆
Haha oof nah man, that just sounds like "die of starvation in the ocean" mode xD
The ending with the hackers got me so angry I hope u reported theme. Also u where supposed to destroy the land denos not join theme and hope u got that Star Wars reference.
I did! They're a group I've seen a few times unfortunately, so likely a hacker clan that just keeps making new accounts.
Aww this is y I’m scared to play the isle
Dying to hackers in a game like The Isle is one of those things that really leeches the experience. There's a feeling of what the game is supposed to be, and That Ain't It. Not for the hackers, and not for the people who have to interact with them.
Yeah, it was incredibly disappointing. If I'd died to Dibbles that were playing fair while I was land deino marching, then okay. But when they're able to stand outside your hitbox and just spam click to kill you.... Like brethren where is the satisfaction of playing skillfully and winning honorably??
RIGHT as i grow my deino and get to highlands this comes out

We were trying to catch a teno, didn't want them to know we were there. Teno corpse > deer or sub beipi
