For situations where you're getting chased down by other herbivores with the intention to murder you: - You absolutely need to have tactile endurance equipped. If you don't, you die. There's no ifs or buts, you just die. - If you have tactile, then the strat is to just run away the whole time. DO NOT, under any circumstances, try to turn around and give them a couple of hits. Your damage won't do shit to a whole horde of them, you'll waste stam that you could spend running, and if they have tactile, you'll just give them more stamina to chase you. - The only way for them to catch you is to also equip tactile and hit each other for extra stam to keep chasing you, but they can only do that so many times before they start taking too much damage. Even with all of this, your chances of survival won't be great, but it's better than nothing. It's really the only good strat that doesn't rely on the pure luck factor of running into someone willing to help.
This. If it's a fight you absolutely can't win, tactile endurance and just run. They catch up and deal damage? Don't fight back. You've got stam again, run.

Yeah, I was honestly shocked how heavily they nerfed it. I'll have to give new Maia a go now, but based on hunts I've completed, I don't think it'll go well if I don't just flee
Was I the only one that I was annoyed when the Maya that went to save you never join you on the edge of the lake? He honestly killed himself staying out there fighting by himself
I love this game, nice video. Just little things erk me ab this game, mix packers that killing everything on sight, hackers too. That moment with that Omni is how it should be played
@@mysteryman4013 I'm glad you enjoyed! Yeah, the mixpacking and mentality that win=other players dead is unfortunate. For a hungry carnivore, sure, that's important. But I'm all for normalizing friendly sparring matches as a way to both practice fighting but also just for something to do that's not kosing when you're full grown and not hungry
@@dripwooper exactly my point why is she special so only certain can mix pack but others can't according to you? It's no rules and people can play how they want
The new Mia nerf isn’t as bad as I thought to be honest if you want to face your enemy I stand my ground and use quadrupedal and not run around in bipedal mode. But if I feel overwhelmed or I know I can’t win I go bipedal mode and run even with low stamina cuz Mia doesn’t lose that much stamina while running.
What’s your thoughts on maia currently? Me personally, I’m happy with where it’s at. It’s pretty bad at combat but it’s playstyle is intended to be a flee-er anyways, which I figured you’d enjoy based on your previous video. Though I do think they could’ve left the acceleration alone. Overall though a good player can just use quadrupedal run to avoid the acceleration problem and then into bipedal. A good maia can also quite easily kill a cerato still from my experience on Norden, a lot of my 1v1s with maias on cerato left me at red hp or dead. At least if they used their quadrupedal attacks well. Overall though I think maia is still good, its bad at combat now but thats what its intended to be. And again it can still fight well from what I’ve seen if its good, at least against the average player (or an overagressive player like me haha) TLDR: maia is in a decent spot imo but they could’ve left the acceleration alone. Merry Christmas Metta!
I think it got nerfed a bit harder than was necessary, but I haven't actually played it yet after the nerf. Couldn't be bothered to regrow when I had other things I was recording(raptor duo with Acro and cerato chaos with Arch and Farmer are coming up next)
@@dinomettaoooh okay gonna be looking forward to those haha. No problem! I haven’t really played it much myself I’m mostly going off my experience through a cera’s eyes, though it does seem clanky at combat overall. But I still don’t think maia is “pathetically weak” for not being good at combat. It still destroys carno for the most part, teno too to be honest. Cera being a good fighter though can obviously be a tough match for a maia. And I honestly don’t get why people can’t appreciate fast things as being strong lol. It might not fight well but dang does it have strong running legs 🤣meanwhile cerato a dinosaur that is ONLY bipedal running half it’s speed lol
@dtbrex08 nah, teno whoops Maia in a fight. They don't get stunned or knocked down, their kick deals massive bleed, and they're overall more maneuverable
@ from my experience teno gets stunned/knocked down still. Maybe I need to practice more but I actually died a couple times to maias on Norden just from them stunning me and me not being able to get around to kick without them stomping me 🤣
i like maia but i think the nerf they gave it was too harsh , it def needed a nerf but they went too far the other direction where now it feels like the carno they just recently replaced where its too clunky and stiff and way too stamina hungry
It isn't my favorite, but it's why I'm very slow to trust people in game. Even when the dibbles had been chill for so long, they were happy to turn in an instant. And the Maia they were chasing, you can see me angle my head away and keep my tail to him as he reaches me, just in case.
Hang out and try to look like a target pretty much sums up my Diablo experience. I've even been working on my "pretend i didn't see you and then when I did run away to make you think I'm afraid to fight and easy target" tactics. It works some of the time.
Haha yeah, I honestly would rather yeet and start regrowing after a certain size on dibble and stego. They're both just too strong, people don't want to deal with them
mixpackers are whats seriously killing the game. i dont care what anyone says. its not the lack of updates, bugs or lack of playables. its mixpackers. skilless players making it nearly impossible for anyone to enjoy the game properly . theres absolutely no fun in running into a mix pack of stegos, dibbles, ceras and dilos. ABSOLUTELY no reason for that to be allowed either.
@@Cheez_Samich yup. The mixpacking is the biggest thing that kills my motivation to play. Hackers are one thing, I can avoid them, I can report them. Mixpackers are just there. Nothing to be done about it
@@KittenShocked I figure either I'll die to a deino and that'll be that, or no deinos will exist and I'll be home free. I have escaped alive more often than not

Stegs have been running amok on AU2 so had to take them down a peg. We tried our hand at dibble but that is about the only herbi that stands against teno but between the two I would still rank teno higher.
Maybe a debuff if there a two different predator species near each other they get “stress” if they are not damaging each other every so often that slows/stops stamina regeneration?
@@zigzera7757 something like that. I've thought that some kind of illness system that begins to affect players that remain in close proximity for extended periods without one side or the other taking significant damage within x amount of time might be an option. Especially if it's an illness that doesn't kill, but ultimately causes a gross hacking cough, infertility, occasional vomiting, and decreased nutrient intake. With each symptom growing worse over time and only getting better over time if one party moves a significant distance away or dies. There would need to be carefully placed "rules" for the infection to begin and worsen in order to prevent pack animals from simply stalking and swapping around large targets to "cook" them in preparation for attacking them when they're weaker. But it seems like a decently realistic option if implemented very carefully

lol, i love the title reference! thanks for another great video, metta!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Top content as always! Thank you for the upload and merry Christmas
Thanks! Merry Christmas!
Awesome video!!! Once again I think its clear that we need an apex carnivore to balance the ecosystem. At least the Maia is somewhat doable though.
Yeah, Maia is plenty huntable, especially after the nerf!
Merry Christmas Metta!
Merry Christmas!
Your channel has grown a lot metta good on you 🎉
I appreciate the support!
@@dinometta we all appreciate the videos and I didn't even know Maia was out
ah gosh how could i forget. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas Thyler! Hope it's a great one
That zebra mia was so pretty! Cool video once again!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Honestly, Maia is my favorite grassbag
They're pretty great
cant believe how hard they nerfed maia lol
Yeah, I was honestly shocked how heavily they nerfed it. I'll have to give new Maia a go now, but based on hunts I've completed, I don't think it'll go well if I don't just flee
the absolute lack of fear including highland lake!? ur this games strongest soldier 😭🙏
@@ixotica5940 I fear no deinos! They can take me to the depths if they dare!
Unfair players were the reason why I usually play an unpopulated servers. I like being alone.
That's fair enough!
Was I the only one that I was annoyed when the Maya that went to save you never join you on the edge of the lake? He honestly killed himself staying out there fighting by himself
I was allready laughing at the title name. thats great!
Haha Nala!
I love the fandom crossover in just the title.
@@FirebirdMiner
Yeah during the horde test there were tons of bored herbs and mixpacks.
But at least you had some action!
Haha I certainly wasn't complaining, especially since I survived! Might have been more salty about it if I hadn't escaped both groups
People who mixpack as herbis and just kos random herbis they see are the worst.
They're certainly something! They looked like an angry mob haha
She protected a gali as a Maia in this video or does that not fit your narrative??
@cargoraygaming9274 you understand I'm not referring to her, right?
@@dripwooper exactly my point why is she special so only certain can mix pack but others can't according to you? It's no rules and people can play how they want
@cargoraygaming9274 i never said it's ok for anyone else. Ur just randomly deciding to @ me and argue.
Love the Nala stomps reference
ooh i didnt expect to see Maco in ur vid :)
@StarForger0419 I didn't expect to cross paths with him!
@@dinomettau two are my favorite isle content creators, so it was a pleasant surprise
I've got to test it out still, but I've seen a few stand their ground decently well against small animals
@ I killed a group of 3 ceratosaurus in quad back kick and stomp are really strong. In my opinion Mia’s only weakness is dilo
And again it can still fight well from what I’ve seen if its good, at least against the average player (or an overagressive player like me haha)
TLDR: maia is in a decent spot imo but they could’ve left the acceleration alone.
Yeah, I agree. They really went "you flee now" haha
@@dinometta big time xD
Mixpacking only Humans can think up to such a wicked things !
I hate when a herbivores attack other herbivores! It only makes sense in the Horde test!!!
It isn't my favorite, but it's why I'm very slow to trust people in game. Even when the dibbles had been chill for so long, they were happy to turn in an instant. And the Maia they were chasing, you can see me angle my head away and keep my tail to him as he reaches me, just in case.
@@dinometta I get it
Hang out and try to look like a target pretty much sums up my Diablo experience. I've even been working on my "pretend i didn't see you and then when I did run away to make you think I'm afraid to fight and easy target" tactics. It works some of the time.
Haha yeah, I honestly would rather yeet and start regrowing after a certain size on dibble and stego. They're both just too strong, people don't want to deal with them
It's funny how your videos frequently have a fighting game feel. 🤺
I LOVE THE NALA STOMPS REFERENCE!!!
She so cute!
@@dinometta yess X3
Merry Christmas to everyone i hope you are having a great time and enjoy dinner with your family
Merry Christmas! Wishing you all the best!
mixpackers are whats seriously killing the game.
i dont care what anyone says. its not the lack of updates, bugs or lack of playables.
its mixpackers. skilless players making it nearly impossible for anyone to enjoy the game properly . theres absolutely no fun in running into a mix pack of stegos, dibbles, ceras and dilos. ABSOLUTELY no reason for that to be allowed either.
@@Cheez_Samich yup. The mixpacking is the biggest thing that kills my motivation to play. Hackers are one thing, I can avoid them, I can report them. Mixpackers are just there. Nothing to be done about it
As someone who likes playing deino, if I see herbies bullying other herbies I always try to help them
@@KittenShocked I figure either I'll die to a deino and that'll be that, or no deinos will exist and I'll be home free. I have escaped alive more often than not
2:25 bro this just gives off jack sparrow vibes

Nala reference! ❤
Heck yeah!
METTA POSTED 💯🗣
Heck yeah!
Teno is still by far the strongest herbivore if played correctly.
@@vargyr1040 I agree. Teno can even take down stegos if the player knows what they're doing
@@dinometta Can confirm. Myself and 2 friends rolled through SP yesterday on a cull. 6 stegs, 4 ceras, 4 maias collectively we lost 1 fg teno and 1 30% grown teno in exchange. Stegs have been running amok on AU2 so had to take them down a peg. We tried our hand at dibble but that is about the only herbi that stands against teno but between the two I would still rank teno higher.
Imagine when Rex come…and witness a full blown mid/low tier Dino battle royal and then come and claim the countless bodies lol
@@lafosh7234 that would be awesome
Everytime I get the idea to play the isle I watch some videos on it and quickly remind myself why I don't

BEST TITLE
It had to be done haha
The title made me smile 😅😊
I'm glad! I hoped it might bring some chuckles from my fellow Nala enjoyers
i love nala and maia
I can't be the only one that's kinda creeped out by the way Maia runs, seeing that come at me makes me wanna cry everytime
Haha Maia is super scary when it runs at you
Maybe a debuff if there a two different predator species near each other they get “stress” if they are not damaging each other every so often that slows/stops stamina regeneration?
Oh also 9;33 when ever i sparred like this in Isle after 5-10 pack of mixpackers were coming to kill 😂😂😂
@@overlordttvi2064 oof rip x[ If that was his plan, he failed haha. After he left, a few more Maias showed up and I wandered off
@dinometta ya it classical...it was so i. Legacy too.
There’s NO WAY the night vision is that bad with increased brightness 🤣its night vision is terrible but with increased brightness I figured it would be better lol
I quite literally could see *just* my eyes and a writhing black mass when the dilos attacked. It was bad haha. Normally I hide in a bush and wait for that epic darkness to pass, but with the Dibbles hunting us, we couldn't stop

15:58 Tactile Endurance. I've been looking for the name of the mutation for a while. Thank you for mentioning it.
Is it in the base mutations for Maia or one that you have to unlock?
It's a base mutation, but only available in the second slot!
@dinometta Good to know. I'll have to try it out sometime. It seems really tricky but incredibly useful; kinda trading bits of health for stamina.
Thank you for the info! :)
The NALA STOMPPP!
Excited to see you try out the nerfed Maia, i personally haven’t tried it but the combat seems more difficult?
It definitely seems to be! I'll loop back around to it in the near future I'm sure!
I started growing a dibble and was almost killed by a pair. Then im minding my own business and see a couple teno and they thought theyd have to fight me. I just 2 called and walked away. Its wild when you cant even trust dinos who cant eat you.
Yup, there's really just no safety out there
Syn0nym!!! Played with them a couple times! -Requiem
I believe I've crossed paths with them before, though I can't be sure. Their name seemed familiar though
not even 10 minutes in and 2 groups of canni maias! the offical servers are rough sometimes
Yuuuup! It was chaos. I was not sure I'd survive the first one. Wasn't as afraid of the trio though. I'll always rather jump in the lake and risk a deino attack over giving players like that the satisfaction of mobbing me to death unfairly
