Big Rig Challenge Event (2nd Edition)
The Great Lakes Big Rig Challenge (2nd Edition) bobtail drag racing compilation! This Quebec style uphill side by side Semi Truck drag racing competition can only be found at one location in the United States... Onaway Speedway! This sport is most popular in Canada. Onaway Speedway has a dedicated uphill track specifically designed for this style of drag racing. Drivers and teams came from all around, some over 1000 miles from the US and Canada just to race here. These clips show some of the awesome bobtail drag racing action on track from the May 18-19 weekend. The Class A trucks had some of the best drag races. Enjoy the sights and sounds of all that diesel big rig power!!

Well... As far as I know it's about the most Canadian thing you'll see all day. They've been doing it for many years in Quebec and now finally the last few years the rest of the continent is catching on. But I know what you mean.

jank jankins . Its a skill .acquired only after hating your boss bad enough to start slamming gears and skipping holes. True double clutching comes a little after that
@@beetlejuice4749 a lot of these guys are probably owner operators so it's there repairs on there cost not the company's, it's all for fun, and double clutching? Why not float them gears? Never seen my old man nor grandfather double clutch always shown to float em, clutch at stop and goes only for the most part, also what's wrong with skipping if empty or light? Been around 10 up to 18speed no need for all of them if your not heavy

Not as exciting as the loaded drag race but nonetheless definitely just as epic.
Heck yeah...when they loaded its soo awesome to watch them twist from all that torque!
The loaded is a lot more exciting for sure. Seeing the torque twist the frame and pull a wheel up like they do is awesome. But this is a lot more skill involved actually. They have to control that torque a lot more. They have to prevent wheel spin and they have to keep the rear end from bouncing. I really enjoy watching both types of racing because of what both offer that's different.

Ya pretty much change the tune and your getting whipped by a big rig. And he's loaded.
Know an old man with an international 9900ix and a cat 6nz that did that ECM trick lol. Thing used to be a nascar hauler, and he drives it like one too 😂 He used to pull up the mountains here in PA doing 100 grossed out and have to brake at the top cause he was going too fast, warped the engine block doing stuff like that and had to pay bout 20 grand to get it replained and rebuilt. That's when he bumped down the hp on the ecm tune lol, said it was too wicked. Name is bill, he's been driving since he was in his teens

@@BomberAlpha ya they don’t care if they cause tons and tons of pollution in the environment, there gonna keep pumping the black heavy exhaust into the air for fun! The trucks by my house do it too! Everyday I watch them leave there trucks running for 10 minutes just to pollute the air and the environment it’s fun! The sky may be getting dirtier but it’s fine.

Awesome trucks! Anyone know how fast they reach in the half mile or what the distance and times are about?
I know very little about drag racing, but I'm assuming this is 1/8th mile since the fastest truck are down around 8 seconds it looks to me. Assuming these trucks have more or less normal gear ratios as it appears most of them are daily drivers, they would be out of gears and rpms near or before 1/4 mile never mind what a half mile would need.
I aint even into big rigs and this video is fuckin awesome.
