I also saw you tried the Surface Pen on your P11 Pro and fun fact : the SP doesn't work on the P11 ^^ But what is really surprising is that the other way is possible ! The Precision Pen 2 works on my Surface Book 3, Pro X and even my Surface Duo. And it even works BETTER than the Surface Pen, Slim Pen on the Duo (and is egal quality than all of them on the Pro X and Book 3). What is strange is that is DOESN'T work with my Lenovo A940 which is AES too whereas the Wacom Bamboo Ink Plus is working (but it is awful on all Surface after the Surface Pro 4/Book 2 and the Duo and the P11.

The reason the Lenovo Precision pen 2 works with your Surface Pro is because both the pen and the digitizer in the P11 PRO have both the Surface and Wacom AES 2.0 technology incorporated. You can also use Surface pens compatible with Surface Pro 3 and beyond work on the P11 PRO, although not all features may work, depending on the model of Surface compatible stylus one uses. *However* the same does not hold true for the P11 (not pro). Although the Precision pen 2 does have both technologies incorporated, the digitizer in the P11 does not support the Microsoft surface pen protocols.

As this is an active stylus pen, could it be used with any Android smartphone device? I've a Samsung A70 mobile. I've purchased Autodesk's Sketchbook Pro app and have connected it to my Huion Inspiroy H640P drawing tablet. Having a hard time, getting used to adjust with the hand to screen coordination and my drawings are all over the place. If I can draw directly on the screen, it'd be a lot more helpful and later plan to purchase a Lenovo Tab M10 tablet too. I've Staedtler Noris Digital Stylus Pencil also in my sight, but seems like it is out of stock everywhere.
That Samsung A70 does not have stylus support. So you can't use pens that have pressure sensitivity. The stylus I recommend would are Adonit Dash 3 or those Adonit stylus with disc tip (more accurate tracking).
Hi Teoh! Do you have a screen protector on your tablet? I have a P11 Plus and just ordered the Precision Pen 2. I’m afraid that the Pen will scratch my display without a protector. I read some comments on the internet that a pen can cause scratches on the display. Did you experience any of that? @@Some-guy-on-the-internet Good. It should work on the Ezel then. I asked and Acer told me the Ezel's screen is AES 2.0. They just saddled it with that AES 1.0 pen for god knows what reason.
@@aldrichuyliong8143 Yeah, it's weird that they do that. From what I've heard, pens that are compatible with both AES 1.0 & 2.0 might have increased jitter and latency, so it's usually best to get an AES 2.0 only pen for an AES 2.0 compatible display.

I don't think that Lenovo is compatible with any pen. Even if it's compatible, chances are the pen is just for tapping on things, links, scrolling. Not really for writing or drawing.

I bought a tab P11 recently with the pen included, but I really don't understand what I'm supposed to do with the hard plastic back for the silicone case of the pen (presented around 1:10 ). If you're supposed to paste the case to the plastic back, why don't they do it in the factory? If it's a choice, what's the advantage, disadvantage? I really don't get what this plastic back is for... I DON'T NEED SLEEP, I NEED ANSWERS x)
my guess is so that you can choose between attaching it to the hard plastic lanyard piece, somewhere else like a drawing stand or case, or nothing at all

This pen is paired via the digitizer it doesn't use Bluetooth. With the P11, and I assume the P11Pro, you need to tap the pen on the screen to have it acknowledged. If you want the side buttons to work as Lenovo programmed them, (top button brings you to the home page, lower button activate the smart navigation feature,) you need to turn on smart navigation in settings. Is it just me, or are these buttons awkwardly placed, and no very responsive? Many times I can't get them to activate when holding the pen as one typicially uses it. The buttons are almost flush with the pen's surface on my pen, and while that prevents accidental clicks, it also seems to prevent intentional ones as well.
The drawing/writing experience is going to be similar to what you see in this video. Unfortunately, drawing performance with Windows tablets isn't as good compared to Apple Pencil and Samsung S Pen. But this pen at least allows you to draw something.

My pen after 1 month started to be laggy and it automaticly curves the handwriting is there any way i can turn this off it makes it a nightmare? i didnt find any way to do that but it started like week ago

Hi! I have the same concerns. I brought my P11 + last year but without the pen. So i bought the pre. Pen 2 yesterday. I don’t have a screen protector on my tablet yet, but i fear that the pen will scratch the display. I want to draw with the pen. So i also was thinking about the performance. Tab S7 has 120Hz display so overall writing experience will be noticeably better. This Lenovo pen tip is slightly better than the S Pen tip. It seems more firm, durable. In terms of hardness it is between Apple Pencil and S Pen.

The nibs for the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 are becoming more available on AliExpress and ebay, however, they are tremendously overpriced (up to $12 each!). Unfortunately it looks like there are no third party tips being made yet. They are quite complex in their profile with of the end that goes into the pen body. I expect this was intentional so Lenovo could profit greatly on the nibs/tip. Be careful not to lose the extra that comes with the pen. They are quite small, and I bet cost about 2 cents each in materials and manufacturing cost. I think we should protest to Lenovo about this type of, what only can be called, price gouging.

The pen can do that, so all you have to do is to find the app that can do that. Not sure about Lenovo, but Samsung Notes can do that. You can install Samsung Notes APK.
what's the difference between this and an Active Pen? Also, between a Precision & Active pen, which is best suited for drawing? I have a Ideapad Flex 5, which one would be more compatible with my device?

@@project24.7 @ 黒神シロ The active pen 2 is AES 2.0. Both are equally compatible. The tip that the active pen 2 uses is the cheapest, nastiest one that lenovo makes and puts in their cheapest pens. The Precision pen and precision pen 2 both use a cone-shaped tip that I also hate. it feels very broad and imprecise, plasticky and slick (I like a little drag on the screen, feedback keeps my lines smoother) And while the precision pen 2 nib might be a bit "better" in some ways (I genuinely prefer the skinny tip on the active pen 2) bear in mind that lenovo doesn't sell replacement conical tips for the precision pen, pen pro, and precision pen 2. The precision pen 1 doesn't even come with one spare.

Works perfectly on my 2in1 windows laptop: Acer Spin 5 Pro SP513-55N (Supports AES 2.0). The tilt is working, some slight wobble is visible when drawing super slow. I also tried Wacom Bamboo Ink Plus(AES 2.0) and had the same issue. BUT Lenovo pen costs 44euro in Lenovo shop, while Wacom is 86 :D Also, Lenovo better fits my hand.
i had to use this model with the p11 normal version after i had a problem with my galaxy tab S6 from samsung, and was very disapointing. the stylus is too laggy, and like in the video, i had a lot of problems with the bottoms because took me off from the apps. i have to say, spen is a lot better than the precision pen. but, the spen tablets are also much expensive than this one. so, if the pencil is not a very important issue, go ahead with the lenovo.
it is fine. i guess if you are used to the 120hz with spen you will feel the lag but other than that no. the buttons can be customized to whatever you like using an app called keymapper.
Lenovo claims the only stylus which works with the P11 is the Precision Pen 2, they specifically mentioned that the Precision pen 1 will not work... How accurate anything from Lenovo customer service provides is questionable

On the P11 (not pro) the diagonal performance is quite terrible, very wavy with the Precision Pen 2. However, some of the drawing software provides settings for "smoothing" which help a great deal. You have to play with the smoothing settings to get it to work well with diagonals without slowing the pens response (lag).

The built-in pen is handy and it is always there (obviously) and fully charged, but for long writing sessions (using the convertible for university) it feels too small, kinda like Nintendo DS pens back in the days. To me, the Precision Pen 2 adds lots of value (although quite pricey, got it for 50€), since it feels like a proper pen size- and weight-wise, has great tilt recognition and can be charged through USB-C port. I would definitely buy it again since it is a much better experience for me when using the convertible. Greetings Sebastian
Mine went in the washing machine by accident sat in there for a solid week, The pen no longer works, the pen flashes in orange and white when the charge is in, however can’t connect to my lenovo tablet anymore.

I don't use a screen protector. Glass (a ceramic) is much harder than glass and won't be scratched by plastic or even metal unless it's sharp metal

It should work with anything that supports AES 2.0. It will not work with AES 1.0 devices though.

If you want the side buttons to work as Lenovo programmed them, (top button brings you to the home page, lower button activate the smart navigation feature,) you need to turn on smart navigation in settings.
Is it just me, or are these buttons awkwardly placed, and no very responsive? Many times I can't get them to activate when holding the pen as one typicially uses it. The buttons are almost flush with the pen's surface on my pen, and while that prevents accidental clicks, it also seems to prevent intentional ones as well.

The drawing/writing experience is going to be similar to what you see in this video. Unfortunately, drawing performance with Windows tablets isn't as good compared to Apple Pencil and Samsung S Pen. But this pen at least allows you to draw something.

My pen after 1 month started to be laggy and it automaticly curves the handwriting is there any way i can turn this off it makes it a nightmare? i didnt find any way to do that but it started like week ago

Hi, i leave in Brazil and I'm looking for a tablet to study (i don't play mobile games), so here we have only two great low cost tablets: Lenovo P11 Plus and Samsung S6 Lite (the other option is S7 FE Wich is too expensive for me more than 3 minimum salaries)

It has to depend on the drawing app you use. Not all drawing apps can adjust pen pressure. E.g. Krita, Clip Studio Paint can.

Tab S7 has 120Hz display so overall writing experience will be noticeably better.
This Lenovo pen tip is slightly better than the S Pen tip. It seems more firm, durable. In terms of hardness it is between Apple Pencil and S Pen.

The nibs for the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 are becoming more available on AliExpress and ebay, however, they are tremendously overpriced (up to $12 each!). Unfortunately it looks like there are no third party tips being made yet. They are quite complex in their profile with of the end that goes into the pen body. I expect this was intentional so Lenovo could profit greatly on the nibs/tip. Be careful not to lose the extra that comes with the pen. They are quite small, and I bet cost about 2 cents each in materials and manufacturing cost. I think we should protest to Lenovo about this type of, what only can be called, price gouging.

The pen can do that, so all you have to do is to find the app that can do that. Not sure about Lenovo, but Samsung Notes can do that. You can install Samsung Notes APK.

The active pen 2 is AES 2.0. Both are equally compatible. The tip that the active pen 2 uses is the cheapest, nastiest one that lenovo makes and puts in their cheapest pens. The Precision pen and precision pen 2 both use a cone-shaped tip that I also hate. it feels very broad and imprecise, plasticky and slick (I like a little drag on the screen, feedback keeps my lines smoother) And while the precision pen 2 nib might be a bit "better" in some ways (I genuinely prefer the skinny tip on the active pen 2) bear in mind that lenovo doesn't sell replacement conical tips for the precision pen, pen pro, and precision pen 2. The precision pen 1 doesn't even come with one spare.

the pro is compatible with aes, wgp and mpp styluses so something like the surface pen is good too.

Works perfectly on my 2in1 windows laptop: Acer Spin 5 Pro SP513-55N (Supports AES 2.0).
The tilt is working, some slight wobble is visible when drawing super slow.
I also tried Wacom Bamboo Ink Plus(AES 2.0) and had the same issue. BUT Lenovo pen costs 44euro in Lenovo shop, while Wacom is 86 :D Also, Lenovo better fits my hand.

i had to use this model with the p11 normal version after i had a problem with my galaxy tab S6 from samsung, and was very disapointing.
the stylus is too laggy, and like in the video, i had a lot of problems with the bottoms because took me off from the apps. i have to say, spen is a lot better than the precision pen. but, the spen tablets are also much expensive than this one. so, if the pencil is not a very important issue, go ahead with the lenovo.
it is fine. i guess if you are used to the 120hz with spen you will feel the lag but other than that no. the buttons can be customized to whatever you like using an app called keymapper.

Diagonal lines seem alright. Not perfect but jitter is minimal. Drawing with normal speed should be fine. For writing, should not be a problem.
On the P11 (not pro) the diagonal performance is quite terrible, very wavy with the Precision Pen 2. However, some of the drawing software provides settings for "smoothing" which help a great deal. You have to play with the smoothing settings to get it to work well with diagonals without slowing the pens response (lag).

my X1 Yoga Gen6 arrived one month ago and it is amazing! The built-in pen is handy and it is always there (obviously) and fully charged, but for long writing sessions (using the convertible for university) it feels too small, kinda like Nintendo DS pens back in the days. To me, the Precision Pen 2 adds lots of value (although quite pricey, got it for 50€), since it feels like a proper pen size- and weight-wise, has great tilt recognition and can be charged through USB-C port. I would definitely buy it again since it is a much better experience for me when using the convertible.

You will have to check your laptop specs and see if it mentions pen support. If not the laptop will not support a (active) pen.

The pen 2 stopped working after 2 month and i had to replace is atleast 4 times.

It should only write when the pen tip is in contact. Try removing the pen tip and put it back again and test. Otherwise, it could be a faulty pen.
