Imo the guitar is a welcome replacement to the original song, I feel like Earthworm Jim has this rocking the evil out of the world and determinate personality to him, while the queen has a evil, power hungry and dark personality that wants power at all costs, the dark, spacey synths and the almost Asian sounding instrument in the background contrast well with the rocking rythm, and adds up the randomness of the game and level.
God i love this song, some say Genesis had better clearer music, this does sound more muffled but genesis sounds all high pitched and pixely, the muffling makes the music have a better rocking 80's feel for this and New Junk City as well which is why i like SNES music better despite owning a genesis at the time i got to play the SNES version at my cousins. Music opinions now over.
Old comment but idc. I don't think you know what sound quality is. The bass, the percussion, the audio is inarguably fuller on the Genesis. Do Snes fanboys even use their ears for fucks sake.
Honestly some songs sound better with the Genesis sound chip, and some sound better with the SNES one. I love this one on the SNES, whereas the Genesis version seems off. But that's the contrary for New Junk City. Both consoles are good.
The differences between genesis and snes are the sound effect, the music quality, and a added stage on Genesis version, but Snes version has better musics and sounds.
No, it was the other way around: the SNES had much better graphics, including alpha blending, etc. but the Genesis had much better sound -- especially the sound effects. There are lots of missing sound effects in the SNES version, especially what Earthworm Jim says during the game. With fewer voices and sounds the SNES version loses a lot of the original Genesis version's magic, and the graphics don't really make up for it. Some of the music in the SNES was better, but I actually prefer the Genesis versions of some songs, which sounded closer to the CD-audio version (the best version). For example, with the Genesis version of this track (th-cam.com/video/jEXWZWqQth0/w-d-xo.html) the strings played before the melody don't sound so muffled as they do in the SNES version as compared to the CD-audio version (th-cam.com/video/p21lmjsHbzQ/w-d-xo.html).
Earthworm Jim SNES has one of the greatest video game OSTs of all time. Wildly atmospheric and absurdly catchy.
My favorite song on the SNES version.
where have I heard this before? I've never played jim in my life
In a parallel universe
the 90's rule!
I love the soundtrack to this game no end, but i had never properly listened to this song before, and OMG its incredible :D
I found it!! It was on one of Joel's playlists when he was streaming Gartic Phone!
At the beginning it sounds like MJ's Smooth Criminal
V I L L I P E O P L E
Classic!
snes version sounds a lot like new order than the other versions

Earthworm Jim was released in 1994
Everybody knows that you dummy
The year of my birth!
That's what the description states

This slaps!
NORMALLY I DON'T CARE TOO MUCH FOR SNES MUSIC BUT THIS IS QUITE GOOD
This screams lost B52's track
The only song I prefer on the SNES version.
Same
Same, the Genesis version of this song feels a bit too hollow.
I disagree, this one sounds to dull
And some more good Fallout Music for the club!
Both SNES and Sega Genesis had the same quality graphics but the one thing SNES had over Genesis was that it had better sound quality.

I feel like Genesis is better. SNES had some really good tracks, but Genesis is better. Of course SEGA CD beats both of those any day.

@@retrosoul8770 Honestly I think the bass and percussion on this version carry way more punch. Now, the melody... It can vary honestly
@@retrosoul8770 Habla con educación mal educado
The genesis CD version sounds way superior by far!!!
JAJAJAJAJAJJAJA
No way the only reason this sounds glitchy is because it's emulated. The CD version is too soft.
Tommy Tallarico did this with Mark Miller
I'll never understand people that say the genesis version is better than this
And I'll never for the life of me understand people who say that the Snes version is better than the Genesis version.
This is ear rape compared to the sega cd version

All versions are good but the genesis CD is just too awsome graphics and sound everything. It just takes a dump on the snes version.

@@superspeedbros Okay, and? That doesn't change the fact that the SNES version buthered some of the charm the original Genesis version had

That guitar does not fit with the theming of the level. I'm sorry, but the Genesis version gives off a better vibe
The guitar is what makes him better than everyone, without a guitar it seems like it was made for children
