One verse is about drugs, but the chorus isn’t. So the part most people remember (“don’t go chasing waterfalls. Just stick to the rivers and the plains that you’re used to”) isn’t actually about drugs.
I gathered that the guy from the first or second story in Waterfalls was a warning to not have unprotected sex because the guy ended up with HIV he got from the woman.
The kid I thought was about a mom who was trying to get her son from being in a Gang and nothing to do with drugs or selling drugs.
I forgot the last storyline in it.
I think the chorus is like don’t go chasing things that are bad for you. I had so many friends who thought it was don’t go JASON waterfalls. 😹
Some of the song is about drugs, but it's also about HIV/AIDS, etc. TLC was big on promoting sexual safety in the beginning.
Fun Fact: In elementary school my lil' friends and I performed Waterfalls in the talent show. We went to an elementary/primary school in the city. So four lil white girls performed this, in crushed velvet tshrts. I did the entire Left-eye rap. AND I NAILED IT.I specifically remember someone's mom yelling "YOU GO LIL' WHITE GIRL!" Good times.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is not about drugs. John's first son Julian drew a picture that had his classmate Lucy in it. John asked Julian who the girl was and Julian said "It's Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" John found the drawing beautiful and decided to make a song about it. Get your facts right.
I think a lot of people don't realize The Beatles did that song before Elton John.
But it sounds better and sold more albums with that false story of it being about LSD.
That was just what they said back then. Paul has said multiple times in more recent years that yeah it's totally about LSD.

A Team mentions a pipe, a couple grams.... plus in the UK they classify drugs as schedule A,B,C, etc (USA has schedule 1, 2, 3, etc). So for this one the ref is in the TITLE of the song.
