Myth Busted You Cannot Cook Eggs in Hot Sun 100 degrees!

  • Hello friends, it's been over 100 degrees F for several days. I left an iron skillet on the driveway all day and had room temp eggs. I did not think it would work and it did not work. If I had maybe a large magnifying glass, I think I could get it to work. I might try that in the future!

Nice video! But how do you know that the skillet sat outside long enough? I think you should leave the skillet out all day and then put the eggs in.

Hey Peter, I did brother! I think I said it in the video, left it out all day in the driveway, in the sun, and tried it around 4-5pm. I think next time I will try it inside the dashboard of the car, under the windshield, and I think that might work actually! Shalom!

No issues frying eggs in Phoenix. We had 118° F in the shade today, much hotter in the direct sunlight.

Really? Can you confirm this with a video or something? I bet the low humidity would also help. Have you tried it? Just curious J.

@@michaelwilsonbarber did you get the link I sent you. For whatever reason TH-cam isn't allowing me to post it to the thread.

Need biggest iron skillet you can find (more surface area), season it and put a clear sheet of glass over to trap the heat, not let it radiate out into sounding air. A car gets a lot hotter with the windows rolled up.

Good ideas, thank you! I may try glass over the top next and/or try it under the windshield inside a car. We'll see! This was fun to try though.
