I really love your XJ600 videos - thanks. I have this bike also and love to work on it as a hobby. Yours is probably the correct way to do it, but when I changed the air filter and put a hiflow permanent one on, I just loosened the tank and kept it raised up, out of the way with 2 pieces of wood - it worked fine and was really quick. It might help someone to know.
It's not accurate. Times have changed, and today there are no more carburetors. Those who adapt themselves to the new times, and learn the new systems, let's say ABS, then it is clear that learning something new requires time and energy. Take your time to learn the two main new systems FI and ABS, maybe you have other new systems on your motorcycle? learn them too. Studying requires appropriate attention, time and patience. In the end it is not more complicated. The principles do not change, these are the same principles, but even between two different models of the same segment, just different manufacturers, there are huge differences that create different levels of "difficulty" (when more knowledge or more expensive tools are required), for example: I will not buy a BMW if I know that I want to be a do-it-yourself type of mechanic enthusiast, the Italians are also less suitable for DIY, but the Japanese are.
Thanx for tips I have the same bike.but I have a problem.the bike wont start easy after seats 1 week.if I use it every Day no problem for starting but if not in use then it start werry hard .can you hely me with some information.

Old bikes were so easy to work on. bikes are designed now so as people have to go to main dealers.

It's an idea to write the date of changing on the filter.
