Ey this guide is super nice. You're obviously not a native English speaker, but because of that you talk slowly, which make sit super nice to follow along to. And you don't rush and go over different options
What a fantastic guide. I was looking around because I had never overhauled fallouts visuals and this is easily the most clear, concise and comprehensive guide I've found
Your guide videos are super helpful. Especially because you go in depth on your explanations. Maybe you could do a mod load order guide too if you have the time.
Thank you mitch! If you're using LOOT (also integrated into Vortex) it will automatically sort your plugins. Manual sorting only is nesessary when youre using multiple mods that do the same thing or use the same assets, e.g. texture mods that override the same files. Sometimes mods can conflict with each other or cause trouble (crashes, bugs, etc.), then you have to troubleshoot the problem individually by checking the mods page, or search for yourself via FO4Edit (I'm no expert on that so better look for some other guides).
What I like about this channel is his Setup. It's not overly god tier and he choses mods that best revolve around the community not just one guys preferences and PC. It's a often occurring mistake that Mod TH-cam Channels make where they have a $4000 Setup and rocking the newest Graphics card running these absolute god tier graphics and saying that it doesn't drop peoples FPS. Not everyone can afford a expensive setup, you prioritized that.
Thank you Nick! The reason why I mention this is because I like to keep an eye on my systems performance regardless of the game or my current setup. I’ve always been an high end user except for the last few years because of extreme prices, but soon I have to upgrade again as well. I always mention that, unfortunately, FO4 is an poorly optimized game that won’t run perfectly fine even with an high end system, that’s why I also made a specific video about boosting the games performance with some mods and tweaks! I also know that there are many people doing the same thing as me and/or don’t use a expensive setup so I often get specific questions about mods and their hit on performance. Thanks for the nice comment and compliment Nick, glad having you in my community!
I tried a few collections on Nexus and theyre all broken. So came to TH-cam for suggestions. I watched several videos but this one is the best for sure. Excited to try this out! (Also I’ll try not to judge to for making a Post-Apocalyptic scene so green. Thanks for showing some wasteland options too!)
Thank you for this! I use Nexusmods as well, but this is a very easy alternative that doesn't involve going through the annoyance of getting HD shade packs to work. I don't need my game to look PS5/Series X quality but to look better and cleaner and this simple download does the trick :)
This may be the best visual mod guide for Fallout 4 I've seen. Insanely informative, great comparisons, xand i even appreciate the quick install guides for Reshade & ENBs! Thank you for this!
I see in your modlist you have vivid weathers and darker nights as an alternative to NACX would adding true storms work with your load order? asuming i use the truestorms vivid weathers patch?
The problem with this lights efects you cant see your enemy but they can see you.. no matter how i change the night brightness of NAC X night is still pitch black forcing you to sleep.
the lighting part,... nice examples saying they are performance heavy, but if you have combined it with an enb like those examples, ofcourse its going to be heavy, the enb makes it heavy. looks awesome tho ^^
@@thatMPSG strange, i never really noticed a performance drop with the lighting mods, only in specific spots the fps dropped a bit but mostly stayed at 60
@@slayerdude18 those lighting mods in the video mostly affect the lighting in interiours. If you unlock your fps, you'll notice that you get a lot more frames inside than outside and that way you'll also notice a significant performance drop with these mods.
hey nice video! but im confused, do i download all of the texture and models mods you listed (vivid fallout, high resolution texture pack, luxors 2k overhaul) or just pick one?
Thank you! Basically texture mods can work together. Not every mod does overhaul every the tire of the whole game so you can pick and choose what you like. If there are mods that overhaul the same textures, only the texture of the mod you loaded as last will be seen because it overrides the other. I recommend to install a mod that’s overhauls the complete game first then you can choose other mods that retexture some specific objects after if you like. Check out my mod list on google docs, every texture mod I listed there is actively installed in my load order.

I just recently got a gaming laptop (not a pc), so I've been scared to mod Fallout 4 bc I don't really feel like messing up the laptop. Enbs are the mods that scare me due to the nature of them. Im checking out the other ones that arent performance heavy tho.

Thanks a bunch for your videos! I am doing a clean install, and using your vids as a guide. That being said, I must ask you:what are your settings for NAC X and other, to obtain that clear picture you have? I get basically blinded by the sun, when I look at my char, it's all blury and it just doesn't look all crispy :-( I am using RealisticLighting, NacX and NAC X Water LOD God Rays Fix and Enhancements. Also installed ENB and Reshade, which are working, and I am running with the Decent Plus Preset. It's probably the settings in NAC X that are different (I enabled the ENB compatibility patch). Any help you could give me would be much appreciated!
Glad my videos are that helpful for you. To be honest I run NAC X with more or less basic settings and no presets. Maybe it’s the combination of many visual settings (ingame, ENB/ReShade etc.) and your monitor and graphics driver settings.
Thank you very much! There shouldn’t be many mods to pay specific attention to load order. If you’re using vortex everything should be sorted automatically. Texture mods will be the only thing where you have to decide which ones have to load first. Don’t update to next gen.
another mod i heavily recommend and really works with enbs and lighting mods: regrowth. what the mod does is not only give fallout 4 a new main menu but with new music but it also makes have vines on rocks, trees, and also signs and gives fallout a lush look
The game looks great, but it crashes on average every few minutes. I have a high-end setup on which, among other things, I play Cyberpunk on ultra with maximum ray tracing in 4k and the game runs stably and without drops. All drivers are also updated, and the game worked perfectly before your guide (of course, this is not an accusation against you). I came to the conclusion by process of elimination that what crashes the game is ENB (decent ENB preset), I will try to remove RealisticLightning and replace it with Enhanced Lights and FX, but I doubt that's it. I turned off ambient occlusion completely in the game because I read that ENB overwrites it with its own. In ENB itself I had to change the Depth of field technique from McFly to default because strange/blurry things were happening on the screen, after changing this technique it looks perfect. I'm writing this comment because I see that you respond to them promptly, and from what I've seen, more people have had this problem and maybe it will help someone. I'll change the lighting mod in a moment, if that doesn't help, I'll try to change the preset in ENB. One last thing, when I turn off all effects in ENB (I think) because I uncheck GLOBAL use effect, the game still crashes, but a little less often. The game also doesn't turn off when I'm in a small enclosed space or when there's not much going on on the screen, only when the action gets going. To be sure, I also checked what was happening with the hardware and what load it generated on the computer, and in these respects everything was fine and there were no anomalies.
***SOLVED*** Omg I managed to fix it, so I'll write here what the problem was, for other people who may also encounter it. I can't believe the reason was so prosaic. There is a bug in the game that appears in all RTX 30 and 40 series cards, namely, you need to go to the advanced graphics settings in the client and turn off "weapon effects", otherwise the game will crash constantly, even at the beginning of the game before you receive any weapons. Glad you solved your problem man! Bethesda games are a mess in terms of performance and optimization. Basically there could be hundreds of possible reasons for crashes, bugs and other issues. For those cases I also made a guide on fixing some of common issues as well as a performance and optimization guide. Thanks for the video. Im planning on a list of mods before i begin fallout. I notice though that the in menu also has an option to download a graphics over haul mod, would this be similar to the ones youve used ? Thanks
There is the official hd texture pack from Bethesda that comes in large size but also impacts performance quite a bit, so I recommend to get some of these mods I recommended in this video. There also are a few other vanilla texture overhauls that improve visuals as well as performance, for that you can simply search on the nexus mods page!
With NAC X is the weather only manually selectable or can it be set on automatic, so you can random weather as you play? Also are Realistic Lighting and NAC X compatible with eachother, thanks
Thank you for the beautiful explained video. at start i downloaded alot and game chrashed :D possibly there were some crosover. can i use HD texture pack all at one or i need to choose one of them?
Basically all mods are compatible with each other if they don’t do the same exact thing. You can only use one lighting mod, one weather mod, grass mod, enb preset, etc. at once. I presented some different options in this video, so you have to choose just one in each category. You can use multiple texture mods at once.
Everything is enabled except if I mentioned different mods that do the same thing (grass, trees, water) then you have to choose what you like to install of these options.
You have to get these mods externaly and install them into your game files or use a mod manager. There are many things to consider when it comes to modding FO4 so better watch a basic modding guide first!
Not sure if your having issues lately.. Im basically using your whole list, minus the deprecated items after the latest update right now... When I hcoose eye color in looks menu.. It changes my skin color.. lmao! Im working on that.. I'm wondering if you might make an update video, or if you ever got around to making an actual AIO modpack? @thatmpsg
Hi, i visited your doc abt the mods you have and downloaded some of them, i first installed vortex, so now, do i drop all the files raw into vortex? or do i have to do anything special?
First log in with your nexus account inside the vortex app. On the mod pages you mostly have two options in the files section. One is to download the mod file manually to your computer, the other is to allow vortex to download the file directly inside the app. If you download it manually you have to drag the file into vortex. From there you can select the mods you downloaded to install, enable or disable. If you need more instructions I recommend you to watch a vortex guide on TH-cam.
@@thatMPSG there is no problem abt the vortex now, but abt your doc, do you have all the mods that are listed there installed and you are running it on a 1080 at atleast 60fps?
is the "realistic roads" mod taken down? i used this a few months ago but everytime i try searching for it on xbox it doesnt show up. (could just be the in game mod search thats making it not show up)
I downloaded reshade and the enb plus. When I'd be outside I'd notice the fog on the horizon was a blinding bright white. Almost like the brightness of it didn't adjust as the game changed to night time. I leanred it was the ENB causing this by hitting F12 and turning it off. When I turned it off the bright fog went back to normal. I like the look of the Decent Plus ENB so is there any way to fix this issue or do I need to find a new ENB.
Hello! I realize this may be a dumb question, but I had a look at your load order and I was wondering.. are you able to use every one of those texture mods together at once?
That’s a legitimate question. Basically you can use texture mods together at once. But you must take into account that if there’s a texture that is used by multiple texture overhauls only the one that loads the last will get used. So you have to decide wich textures you prefer and change the load order of these mods.
I need help because I hate NACX the fog is ridiculously low quality non translucent fog basically just a black screen at night, is there a alternative to that mod?
I don't get it. You said that you like RealisticLights Mod, but then, you said you MUST use NAC X. RealisticL and NAC doesn't work toghether right? It would be conflics right?
two questions, 1. can anyone confirm that these mods work with the next gen update and 2. do they require any of the addon dlc's or will they work without them?
I just installed reshade and enb with the decent preset. But sadly everything is super blury now. Just the spot im looking to is in focus. Hasnt the preset installed correctly?
Whats the minimum graphics cards youd recommend to use this with im running a zotac geforce gtx 1060 just wondering if im dreaming bigger then itll be able to handle
You should be able to play with some of these mods. Might become a little difficult with lighting mods and enb. But better just try it out. You can also push your frames if you use some of the mods I showed in my performance guide on my channel!
My Game now look realy bad its like having a thig fog. i cant see that far and it has a huge brigness also at night i cant see more far than a few meters all buildings are pitch black. Also Colors are flicking when moving form a "normal" (with the dircipted fog) look to a blue tint.
@@thatMPSG I thought so.. Do you have any tips? I installed some of the mods in your video and it made the game very beautiful, however unplayable XD. Or am i doomed to play vanilla

Everything is enabled except if I mentioned different mods that do the same thing (grass, trees, water) then you have to choose what you like to install of these options.
New to fallout modding, are these available in game or do I have to get them externally?
You have to get these mods externaly and install them into your game files or use a mod manager. There are many things to consider when it comes to modding FO4 so better watch a basic modding guide first!
Much appreciated thanks
Is there a way to download all the mods you use as a collection?
Not explicit in this formation presented in this video. There might be bigger collections that also contain some of these mods.
@thatmpsg
It might take a while for some new interesting graphic mods to come out also considering the NextGen desaster.
9:18 "Fallout 4: High Resolution Texture Pack" выглядит гораздо лучше мода "Fallout 4 HD Overhaul" 🙂
is the "realistic roads" mod taken down? i used this a few months ago but everytime i try searching for it on xbox it doesnt show up. (could just be the in game mod search thats making it not show up)
It is available on the Nexus as always, but I don't know anything about XBox modding.
@@thatMPSG ill check there
I downloaded reshade and the enb plus.
Awesome thank you! Are these all available on Xbox?
Glad you like it! Many are but better check for yourself.
Love the guide great job on that but for some reason my game got super blurry after getting reshade + ENB any fix??
Glad you like it. Might be some visual filters like DoF or motion blur. Just turn that off in the ENB settings menu.
Maravilloso video :)
Muchas gracias
3:52 which mod was this
I need help because I hate NACX the fog is ridiculously low quality non translucent fog basically just a black screen at night, is there a alternative to that mod?
That’s unfortunate but I already mentioned two alternatives in this video.
Do I need all the DLC's listed for the pine tree mod?
how did you fix the random fps drop in urban areas?
Try PRP and shadow boost fo4. For detailed explanation check out my performance guide and my “must-have mods” videos!
@@thatMPSG thanks for the advice i already watched it still have those fps drop specially near mass fusion building and near good neighbor
I don't get it. You said that you like RealisticLights Mod, but then, you said you MUST use NAC X. RealisticL and NAC doesn't work toghether right? It would be conflics right?
No, you don’t have to. You can only choose one lighting mod but you can use NAC X with both.
What mod makes you hold the knife with the pistol
"HK USP .45(New) with Tactical knife" also featured in my top 5 pistol mod showcase video!
two questions, 1. can anyone confirm that these mods work with the next gen update and 2. do they require any of the addon dlc's or will they work without them?
Some mods need DLCs
I just installed reshade and enb with the decent preset. But sadly everything is super blury now. Just the spot im looking to is in focus. Hasnt the preset installed correctly?
Change the DoF setting in the ingame enb oberlay. Either the value of distance of focus or just disable it if you don’t like it at all.
@thatMPSG thank you I'm going to watch it an give it a try I appreciate it.
My Game now look realy bad its like having a thig fog. i cant see that far and it has a huge brigness also at night i cant see more far than a few meters all buildings are pitch black. Also Colors are flicking when moving form a "normal" (with the dircipted fog) look to a blue tint.
It makes my game look very good. Although it crashes constantly. Anyone else having the same problem?
Crashes can be related to many different causes. Not easy to answer without any specific information.
@@thatMPSG I thought so.. Do you have any tips? I installed some of the mods in your video and it made the game very beautiful, however unplayable XD. Or am i doomed to play vanilla
@@oscaraberg1852 Check out my performance and stability guide. It might help you out!
excuse my dumbass brain but, is nac x combatible with Enhanced Lights and FX?
Nothing stupid there! Yes it is!
@@thatMPSG oh, thanks
Which of the mods take the most performance?
I'd say "Enhanced Lights and FX" as well as trees and grass mods.
@@thatMPSG And probably ENB too, I'm willing to bet it's the most performance heavy. Since it usually is in other games like Skyrim
@@doupt Yes you're right, depends on the preset and settings.
I’m late to the party and just discovered the mods for ps4. Can I search them and apply whatever mod I want?
It’s never too late to join the party!
I don’t know much about console modding but if those mods are available for ps4 anywhere you’d be able to install them to your game.
Better watch a specific guide for that, since I can’t help that much!
i want the outfit 💀
I suspect if I use Luxor's mod... ... my system is gonna be crushed.
Trying is the best way to learn.
