Because previous days before dr. tell it to his friends, the govt was already did investigation to the pneumonia-like illness. But at the time, this flu was still not clear and need further info. After he signed the letter, about tomorrow or 2 days later he came back to office and work like usual. Several days later, he got visit by a woman which was his regular patient treated for glaucoma. There was big chance he contracted the virus from her. He rushed to hospital after the symptoms appeared and stayed there for several weeks, until he passed away 7 Feb. His arrest reason was to prevent the rumor spread wider and would make people panic. If this happened, there would be millions Wuhan people move out from the city without knowing each of them could be a virus carrier. Just imagine if this situation happened before the lockdown... Of course, what dr. Li has done was not entirely false. But at such time, social stability should also be maintained. Sadly, his passed way was politicized by western media to demonized China. If it did kill him then I think (from what I've been reading and watching) that hes the youngest person to have died from it. If hes a doctor then surely he was healthy too. It doesnt add up. Wstern media said dr. Li Wenliang the whistle-blower was silenced and detained by authority due to spread rumor.
But the real story is...
Dr. Li brought by authority/local police and asked to sign a letter "not to spread a rumor" that not still based on fa c t. Because previous days before dr. tell it to his friends, the govt was already did investigation to the pneumonia-like illness. But at the time, this flu was still not clear and need further info. After he signed the letter, about tomorrow or 2 days later he came back to office and work like usual.
Several days later, he got visit by a woman which was his regular patient treated for glaucoma. There was big chance he contracted the virus from her.
He rushed to hospital after the symptoms appeared and stayed there for several weeks, until he passed away 7 Feb.
His arrest reason was to prevent the rumor spread wider and would make people panic. If this happened, there would be millions Wuhan people move out from the city without knowing each of them could be a virus carrier. Just imagine if this situation happened before the lockdown...
Of course, what dr. Li has done was not entirely false. But at such time, social stability should also be maintained.
Sadly, his passed way was politicized by western media to demonized China.

This made me cry so bad. When I heard of this my first thought was ... Im sorry he may have fele alone and betrayed by many.... all because he wanted to help others and warn them of the dangers coming. Then to get sick from that very same warning and die. Breaks my heart.

The fact that the government is telling us not to use masks Only if infected is a HUGE mistake is common sense. Lets say I'm infected and the person next to me might be infected and will continue infecting 100s. That is why in China all had and are using masks. US is catching up with Italy. Italy will recover sooner, because of the Chinese specialist that arrived with a large number of supplies. We need help from China too. History can take you far. So don't point but plan and act. This is not a Wuhan virus but global. Viruses can originate anywhere, they don't discriminate people do. So many specially xinophobics in America are thinking different now. If it did kill him then I think (from what I've been reading and watching) that hes the youngest person to have died from it. If hes a doctor then surely he was healthy too. It doesnt add up. I think it really is time for the everyday average person to become way more powerful. Hopefully this virus will help that cause by fucking up their plastic system. The system needs to start working for everybody not just the rich. I feel a big breath of fresh air coming when this is over/controlled. Surely people can now take this time to get back in touch with nature and realise that the pollution should be stopped. I've been on a plane once in my life.
