Well they were selfless to a fault I suppose wanting to help the wounded her being wounded herself. I imagine there is some PTSD from something like that too not just the physical injury but difficult to relax on a patio and celebrate a birthday maybe as if you are "safe" not having to consider potential violent threats. I worked at the Second Cup Coffee Co. there on the Danforth in 2000 their patio was shot up that night too so even twenty years later I thought how that anyone like me or my coworkers could have been victims of something random like that just out busking tables catch a stray bullet and that's it "life altering" experience just working in a coffee shop or patronizing one on the wrong night. Same as people being attacked on the TTC though too just going to or from work minding your own business.

Hopefully the 1.9 million gun lovers will consider the insanity of this. Did not have to happen.

      - The shooting was done with a pistol - a gun thats already highly restricted in Canada.
      - The gun was obtained illegally.
      - Canada (supposedly) has some of the strictest laws when it comes to guns.
Disturbingly the recent Nova Scotia shooting was also perpetrated with illegal and highly restricted guns. The problem isn't that gun owners are going out and committing mass shootings, the problem is that there's too many illegal guns in circulation, 70% of which come from imported illegally from the US. The solution is much stronger border control and stricter/harsher enforcement of the current laws, not punishing current, law-abiding gun owners.

There are over 2.2 million of us and we are not the problem.

Because banning certain rifles that werent even used in a shooting that was commited by illegally smuggled american pistols would have prevented anything.

Less than 1% of gun crime in canada is commited by legal gun owners. In addition, almost all gun crime is commited by pistols, not "assault weapons". Maybe you should be the one to consider this insanity.
