@@Platinum_EXPerience I picked up the upgrade today but haven’t fired it up yet, but Death Stranding Director’s Cut is actually said to be a showpiece haptics game as well. Looking forward to trying that one out. And the 60 fps bump in that game will definitely be an improvement.

Nice tutorial. Just a reply: Actually, the best weapon for beating Ophion (any boss, really), is the Electrophylon Driver. The DPS this weapon can do outmatches any other in the game. Trust me.
Yeah that weapon is bomb too. I realized after I made the video that I leaned on the machine gun weapon pretty heavily 😄 That pylon weapon has ridiculous DPS and I used it a lot.
Dreadbound pyroshell launcher with full auto so many things on the shotgun and rotgland with portal rot and explosive are all better then pylon trust me 😎
carbine with leech rounds 3 and the rate of fire traits is nuts against bosses its pretty hard to even die with that, not to mention if you have repair boosts
The one that says "finish calculated risk" is for when you get one of those 50/50 resins that either dmg you or give you +1 to integrity upgrade. I believe you need to get damaged twice by those for the trophy.
Dude. This GAME DUDE! Evem the trophies are somehow connected to the story, you feeling exactly like Selene when you attempted to collect everything in every biome for the Survey Trophies. Returnal really is one of my favourite games of all time. And the BEST example of how powerful a game can be. Big thanks to the team behind this game. I am just speechless.

Well I dropped in that Helios Plat trophy hell 1 year after you xD This 2nd biome start to be a real pain looking after this extremely rare room with that huge fan in it. It’s a bit encouraging the fact that other players succeed in that trophy 🏆 thanks for the video !
This platinum is driving me nuts, I’m at a point now where this game presents no difficulty to me whatsoever and I’m just at the mercy of rng. Those are the only trophies I have left, scout logs and glyphs
The risk assessment trophy you need to have a 2 malignancies, and come across another malignant item, but the item has to do with one of the two malignancies that you have. When you pick it up you'll clear one of the malignancies and risk getting another one at the same time. For example if you have a malignancy that says you have to pick up an artifact to clear it and come across a malignant artifact, when you pick up that artifact you risk getting a malignancy but also clear the artifact malignancy at the same time. The only thing I'm not to sure on is that picking up that artifact ( if it is a artifact malignancy) is if you have to get lucky and not get the malignancy from said artifact, or of you can get the trophy and get the malignancy from the artifact.
Ah okay, that makes more sense. I was wondering how it worked because the trophy is not explicit about the requirements at all. It just kinda popped in the early stages as I was playing.

He describes every step in his process: practice runs, watching other people play the game, memorizing every room in the game (to know where each collectible is), and more. It's the greatest speedrun in the history of gaming imo.
while i agree about your mentality on its not a bad idea to pick up malignant items as theyre pretty easy to fix in act 1, i disagree on saying never pick up parasites that have some sort of negative effect in regards to malfunction probability increase. my logic is this, if i dont plan on getting malfunctions via the maligant items aka i choose not to pick up the items, then essentially the parasite is a freebie, just like the suffer damage from long falls negative effect, as you can just dash before hitting the ground, thus nullifying the negative aspect of the parasite iv beaten the game 5 plus times and i am helping my newer friend and even he says that the idea of malfunctions stresses him out as he is trying to learn the game and its just one less thing for a new player to worry about, so the parasites that i mentioned above are actually good things and i strongly recommend. it really comes down to your playstyle. i really appreciate your video as well as the dlc one as i will use them to finish off the few remaining trophies i have left. i love this game, so beautifully crafted and just a masterpiece in my opinion. much love man❤️ great video
one other thing, as I'm sure you've experienced this, the beginning obelisk thing you deposit your ether into, late game you eventaully get all the items you can get and then at that point your ether is really only good for cleansing malignant items , so then u can just cleanse malignant items on the ground while benefitting from the parasites i mentioned above that have a negative effect that is easibly negatable, thus freebie parasites.
Thanks for watching the vids 😁 Appreciate it! Yeah those things I mentioned in the vid worked for me and I'm not really someone who takes risks a lot in the first place. I found those certain parasites and malfunction ended up screwing over a lot of my runs so I decided to change up the strategy a bit.
😆 The grind is kinda real with that game. There's a 6GB patch coming for the game soon but who knows if that's gonna address the frequency of the drop rates.
MY TIP regarding 34:32 (survey trophies) : I did all my missing surveys in one sitting and i REALLY had the feeling that i got one guranteed missing cypher at every reset of a run. I dont know if i was just lucky, but my tipp would be just to rush through the Biom where you need cyphers and just open the map in every room to look for the triangle symbol. Dont kill anything and just rush and rescycle everytime you find a cypher. Biom 1 requires maybe a better weapon for the looked room challanges.
Yeah exactly, that is the best way especially if you know the room you are missing. I sucks that it has to be this way but that's what it is. That's what I ended up doing to get that last Biome 2 cypher

Beat this game last week, died 1 time in the 4th biome. On my second run now and I've made it from biome 1-4 and still havent died yet. Looking good on biome 5 right now as well. Sounds like I'm gonna have to die on purpose to get the platinum trophy which kinda sucks.
Holy smokes dude! You are wrecking the game 😄 Awesome job! I think to speed things up for the plat yeah you have to die. Unless you just complete every run but when looking for some of the heavy RNG collectibles, that will take a lot more time.
Considering it took me 350 hours to Platinum Monster Hunter World, 50-100 hours for a Platinum doesn't actually sound that overwhelmingly aweful to me. Only the glitchy trophies and RNG part make it look very unappealing to even start this.
Oh man XD I am working through Monster Hunter World slowly and I'm feeling the weight of that platinum trophy. In terms of Returnal, since the release of my video, the RNG items had been made to appear more frequently and the glitched trophies have been patched. The only thing that I am not sure has been addressed yet is the ciphers in the Crimson Wastes which I think will still be pretty RNG based. It probably won't take you 80 plus hours like it did for me but probably now between the 50-60 range to do it.

There's another item like the astronaut figurine. I believe it's the child's watch. If the description says this item doesn't want to let you go then that's the one that respawns you when you die just like the astronaut figurine.
@@AbyssAsics I didnt have to turn off online mode personally. I just put on a tv show in the background and just speedran the biomes and checking my map in each area. I had a few in some biomes that took me a while and in biome 2 i had to take the teleporter at bottom of mountain and run ther mountain in reverse for a certain room to spawn. But other than that was just patience unfortunately. Hope you get them!
have you done Metal Gear Solid 4 yet? By far the worst plat i have evere done. things like: Speed run the game in 4 hours or less using no health items on hardest difficulty crawl for hours play thru the game 9 times etc.

Just did it. 48 hours and platinum trophy pop. I beat the game in 19 hours and other time was only run restart run restart find xenoglyph and again. My luck was frickin bad for xeno in biome 1/2/6
14:00 Risk Assessment I got it after being hit for the third time picking up Spoiled Resin. Maybe that's what the assessing risk refers to, considering the nature of Spoiled Resin.
I get scared speedrunning a level bec if I die when a cipher is actually spawned in the biome I’d be pissed. 11 ciphers to go 8 of are in biome 2, and 3 scout logs overall. What a pain 😢
Oh man, that thought was in my mind all the time while working through biome 6. Even with upgraded weapons, anything could still happen in that biome 😢
so I'm going for platinum right now and i ran into a crash in Biome 2. To my surprise when i started it back up i was right back in the room I crashed the game in. That is a huge fix they made that doesnt get talked about. Usually it starts the run over. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least lol.
Oh definitely! The last patch really... really improved the game a lot. And if there's gonna be DLC like the rumours are suggesting, I'm glad they fixed the game before releasing it.
Thankfully there are no requirements for maxing out the weapons, imagine the having to get the trophies for unlocking all the traits, or even for 100% the database. Just finished the game to Act 3 last night, and while I am definitely planning to platinum it, or even to do all the weapon cards, those will definitely be a long term project, interspaced with my playing other games so I don't get burnt out of Returnal. (Although I did finish the survey for the Fractured Wastes while on my Act 3 run, so I guess I can just skip that biome every time now, which is great) Edit: I'm about 30 hours in already, so I'll update and post how long in play time it took me to platinum after I finish the surveys to see what the extended play time was. Seeing as Hades just came out on PS5 today, guess I'm just shifting from one Roguelike to another, but I'm ok with that.
Yeah, Hades is what I'm jumping into next and Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut. Just do a run or two every now and then and before you know it you will have the Returnal plat. The pain in the ass part is the Crimson Wastes glyphs. As far as I know they haven't had their frequency upped like the scout logs did. That took me a solid 30 to 40 runs to clear
70hours for a platinum in a roguelite gameplay is actually very damn quick. Sure the rng might let u run the same biomes over and over but if you wouldn't like the game you wouldn't go for the platinum anyway. I dont see why u complain so much about the rng of getting the platinum whereas most roguelikes take more like 300hours to get a platinum..
If you like playing roguelikes than yeah 70 hours might be pretty great if your propensity for these types of games is high. But Im speaking to an audience of people who collect trophies in general not necessarily trophy hunters who only play roguelikes. Not everyone who plays roguelikes is going to enjoy an extra 20-30 hours of runs that's not giving you new content, especially if you are not getting anything out of your runs. Hades is much better about it as you can keep upgrading even after a run has finished and Returnal is not like that. You are looking for these random inconsequential collectibles even after you are done the interesting content.

I can't beat the first boss after shooting it for 30 min straight onyl 20% health is gone. My weapon is maxed and got 1 and a half health bars. Using the assault rifle using the alt fire and yet 20% health and its got 3 health bars. Ran around everywhere still can't get this extra life statue thing. Can't get key for the house at all keeps appearing
Yeah the beginning of the game is brutal. Phrike is a pretty tough boss and it will feel one of the toughest. You will learn to get better at the game through tough love and willpower. Trust me after that it will get easier. Try coop mode if it feels like it's too tough. It will be easier with another player.
@@Platinum_EXPerience the way I'm going about it I have got all permanent traits on weapons I have tried every weapon that is in this area. Co op could be the answer but I never used co op on dark souls games only demon souls ps5 version due to online trophies
Yeah Phrike is just a tough boss. He does telegraph his attacks but right now your weapons are not all that powerful and that creates the problem of the fight going on for a long time. Try coop if you need it but after that I find the second area is much easier
I really love this Returnal(one of my favourite games of all time) and I would love to platinum it but I don't think I have the patience to do so with these damn surveys. I've beaten the game at least 4 times and I'm still at 80% with those surveys in every act, I only need those survey trophies to get the platinum.
Yeah I don't blame you, the RNG in this game is annoying and uneven. The 2nd and 6th biomes are really annoying for getting the last surveys and other stuff
@@Platinum_EXPerience Ixion gave me fits. I'm damn near .500 with him. It's all them damn blue rings that would piss me off. My order from hardest to easiest is Ixion, Phrike,, Hyperion, Ophion and Nemesis. My go to gun is the Electropylon Driver.
I actually had to look this up cause I forgot how I got it 😅 Apparently it's not given to you automatically. It's in one of the side paths in the fourth biome and it's location is random. Just fully explore the 4th biome on one of your runs till you get it.

For the survey trophies, do I have to collect all in one go? Or can I collect half the collectibles in one biome and come back later for the remaining?
You can mix and match and you won't be locked out of anything. You can find some stuff in the biome and then go to the sixth to find stuff as an example.
It's weird, I didn't have trouble getting the scout logs at all. As for the ciphers the only place that took agonizingly long to beat was the Crimson Wastes. Two ciphers in particular took me a lot of runs to get. Everything else didn't seem to be an issue. I got them after a few runs. Just the Crimson Wastes was the problem
@@Platinum_EXPerience So unlike something like Uncharted where you can follow a collectible guide to get them all In Returnal do you have to find all the collectibles on your own? Or do some Returnal collectibles have permanent spawns and some are random?
@@aryan.prince Yeah exactly. You can look up what the room looks like with the collectible in it but it's up to RNG as to whether that room with the item will pop up. I think there are only a few mandatory scout logs in the game and the rest of the items are all RNG.

I thought this was a great video! I watched it having already gotten platinum in 40 hours 20 of those was getting the cyphers :( Maybe a slight spoiler warning for the biomes and areas would be nice if this is intended for new players. Nemesis Hyperion that first dive are super memorable experiences that I think would’ve been ruined for me if I would’ve seen them prior!

Also, for the level 30 proficiency trophy, you can catch runs where it’s just you and one of those things that spawns the kamikaze squids constantly until you kill it. You can just sit there and shoot the squids as long as you want to grind up to the trophy. I ended up doing it this way as I never quite found enough proficiency upgrades to get me to 30.
returnal to me is not a game but just a prologue! indeed, not even 10 hours to finish it the first time, and they are trying to stretch the game with trophies to justify this bullshit and the 80/110eur especially . of this "game" which is certainly not a game. There are games I've played in my life where I would have even paid triple the value because it was so great but here...lol it's a returnal joke... I have no idea who developed this crap, but one thing is for sure, it's not a big studio that did it, it's obvious. I'm not going to spend tens of hours for a 100% in this stupid thing... when it comes to the "difficulty" of the game for those who cry about it, I wonder why? as soon as you know what you have to pick up or NOT! the difficulty is non-existent... Nioh for example I can understand a little but not here, never... I hope in the future that not all ps5 titles will take the prologue route, in short, total disappointment for me.

i beat the game a while back but i noticed I still haven't completed act 3 yet. idk if this is a glitch or not but i am honestly confused on how to even get to act 3
If you have defeated the last boss, you are now in act 3 😁 I have it covered in the video how to complete it and get the trophy but essentially now you have to go through every biome and collect the six sundial pieces, do the last house sequence after collecting them and then beat the last boss again. You will get a different ending.

Interesting, I thought Nemesis was considered the second easiest boss in the game (behind the final boss).

Considering it took me 350 hours to Platinum Monster Hunter World, 50-100 hours for a Platinum doesn't actually sound that overwhelmingly aweful to me. Only the glitchy trophies and RNG part make it look very unappealing to even start this.
Oh man XD I am working through Monster Hunter World slowly and I'm feeling the weight of that platinum trophy.
In terms of Returnal, since the release of my video, the RNG items had been made to appear more frequently and the glitched trophies have been patched. The only thing that I am not sure has been addressed yet is the ciphers in the Crimson Wastes which I think will still be pretty RNG based. It probably won't take you 80 plus hours like it did for me but probably now between the 50-60 range to do it.

That's weird! I was about 82 hours close to launch and I think they patched it so stuff comes mote frequently. Hopefully it's not glitched
There's another item like the astronaut figurine. I believe it's the child's watch. If the description says this item doesn't want to let you go then that's the one that respawns you when you die just like the astronaut figurine.
Yes that's right. The only bad thing is you can't hold both at the same time which sucks.

Yeah, you can stack the astronaut and the parasite that does the same thing though which is good.
well said on the ciphers. The biome 2 is killing me. It used to take me an hour to make a run, now about 3mins... but still not getting it...
Yeah man the RNG in that place for some reason is far worse than all the other biomes. Even biome 6 wasn't as bad 😵

@@AbyssAsics I didnt have to turn off online mode personally. I just put on a tv show in the background and just speedran the biomes and checking my map in each area. I had a few in some biomes that took me a while and in biome 2 i had to take the teleporter at bottom of mountain and run ther mountain in reverse for a certain room to spawn. But other than that was just patience unfortunately. Hope you get them!
missing afew collectibles in biome 2 and 3 and its driving me nuts since i dont rush the game i do normal runs

have you done Metal Gear Solid 4 yet? By far the worst plat i have evere done.
things like:
Speed run the game in 4 hours or less using no health items on hardest difficulty
crawl for hours
play thru the game 9 times etc.

I’m doing the Returnal survey trophies now and the only thing keeping me going is my PTSD from the MGS4 platinum lol! It will make almost all plats seem like nothing crazy.

Just did it. 48 hours and platinum trophy pop. I beat the game in 19 hours and other time was only run restart run restart find xenoglyph and again. My luck was frickin bad for xeno in biome 1/2/6

I got it after being hit for the third time picking up Spoiled Resin. Maybe that's what the assessing risk refers to, considering the nature of Spoiled Resin.

I get scared speedrunning a level bec if I die when a cipher is actually spawned in the biome I’d be pissed. 11 ciphers to go 8 of are in biome 2, and 3 scout logs overall. What a pain 😢
Oh man, that thought was in my mind all the time while working through biome 6. Even with upgraded weapons, anything could still happen in that biome 😢
so I'm going for platinum right now and i ran into a crash in Biome 2. To my surprise when i started it back up i was right back in the room I crashed the game in. That is a huge fix they made that doesnt get talked about. Usually it starts the run over. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least lol.
Oh definitely! The last patch really... really improved the game a lot. And if there's gonna be DLC like the rumours are suggesting, I'm glad they fixed the game before releasing it.

Thankfully there are no requirements for maxing out the weapons, imagine the having to get the trophies for unlocking all the traits, or even for 100% the database. Just finished the game to Act 3 last night, and while I am definitely planning to platinum it, or even to do all the weapon cards, those will definitely be a long term project, interspaced with my playing other games so I don't get burnt out of Returnal. (Although I did finish the survey for the Fractured Wastes while on my Act 3 run, so I guess I can just skip that biome every time now, which is great)
Edit: I'm about 30 hours in already, so I'll update and post how long in play time it took me to platinum after I finish the surveys to see what the extended play time was.
Seeing as Hades just came out on PS5 today, guess I'm just shifting from one Roguelike to another, but I'm ok with that.
Yeah, Hades is what I'm jumping into next and Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut. Just do a run or two every now and then and before you know it you will have the Returnal plat. The pain in the ass part is the Crimson Wastes glyphs. As far as I know they haven't had their frequency upped like the scout logs did. That took me a solid 30 to 40 runs to clear
70hours for a platinum in a roguelite gameplay is actually very damn quick. Sure the rng might let u run the same biomes over and over but if you wouldn't like the game you wouldn't go for the platinum anyway. I dont see why u complain so much about the rng of getting the platinum whereas most roguelikes take more like 300hours to get a platinum..
If you like playing roguelikes than yeah 70 hours might be pretty great if your propensity for these types of games is high. But Im speaking to an audience of people who collect trophies in general not necessarily trophy hunters who only play roguelikes. Not everyone who plays roguelikes is going to enjoy an extra 20-30 hours of runs that's not giving you new content, especially if you are not getting anything out of your runs. Hades is much better about it as you can keep upgrading even after a run has finished and Returnal is not like that. You are looking for these random inconsequential collectibles even after you are done the interesting content.
@@Platinum_EXPerience true i personally like the grind for the platinum currently because I can get more out of this amazing game but I also enjoy grinding in general. guess not everyone is like me. Atleast theres more content dropping for it next week since sony announced the free DLC

I can't beat the first boss after shooting it for 30 min straight onyl 20% health is gone. My weapon is maxed and got 1 and a half health bars. Using the assault rifle using the alt fire and yet 20% health and its got 3 health bars. Ran around everywhere still can't get this extra life statue thing. Can't get key for the house at all keeps appearing
Yeah the beginning of the game is brutal. Phrike is a pretty tough boss and it will feel one of the toughest. You will learn to get better at the game through tough love and willpower. Trust me after that it will get easier. Try coop mode if it feels like it's too tough. It will be easier with another player.
@@Platinum_EXPerience the way I'm going about it I have got all permanent traits on weapons I have tried every weapon that is in this area. Co op could be the answer but I never used co op on dark souls games only demon souls ps5 version due to online trophies
Yeah Phrike is just a tough boss. He does telegraph his attacks but right now your weapons are not all that powerful and that creates the problem of the fight going on for a long time. Try coop if you need it but after that I find the second area is much easier

I really love this Returnal(one of my favourite games of all time) and I would love to platinum it but I don't think I have the patience to do so with these damn surveys. I've beaten the game at least 4 times and I'm still at 80% with those surveys in every act, I only need those survey trophies to get the platinum.
Yeah I don't blame you, the RNG in this game is annoying and uneven. The 2nd and 6th biomes are really annoying for getting the last surveys and other stuff

@@Platinum_EXPerience Ixion gave me fits. I'm damn near .500 with him. It's all them damn blue rings that would piss me off. My order from hardest to easiest is Ixion, Phrike,, Hyperion, Ophion and Nemesis. My go to gun is the Electropylon Driver.

I just got the first ending today and I still have only two consumable slots, is this a glitch or am I missing something?
I actually had to look this up cause I forgot how I got it 😅 Apparently it's not given to you automatically. It's in one of the side paths in the fourth biome and it's location is random. Just fully explore the 4th biome on one of your runs till you get it.

@@mr.obvious331 Oh damn :( I hope it's not something that is missable. I'll see if I can find out more about it. I don't think it will wall you from completing everything but it's certainly easier when you have that third slot.
For the survey trophies, do I have to collect all in one go? Or can I collect half the collectibles in one biome and come back later for the remaining?
You can mix and match and you won't be locked out of anything. You can find some stuff in the biome and then go to the sixth to find stuff as an example.

It's weird, I didn't have trouble getting the scout logs at all. As for the ciphers the only place that took agonizingly long to beat was the Crimson Wastes. Two ciphers in particular took me a lot of runs to get. Everything else didn't seem to be an issue. I got them after a few runs. Just the Crimson Wastes was the problem

In Returnal do you have to find all the collectibles on your own? Or do some Returnal collectibles have permanent spawns and some are random?
@@aryan.prince Yeah exactly. You can look up what the room looks like with the collectible in it but it's up to RNG as to whether that room with the item will pop up. I think there are only a few mandatory scout logs in the game and the rest of the items are all RNG.

I watched it having already gotten platinum in 40 hours 20 of those was getting the cyphers :( Maybe a slight spoiler warning for the biomes and areas would be nice if this is intended for new players.
Nemesis Hyperion that first dive are super memorable experiences that I think would’ve been ruined for me if I would’ve seen them prior!
Thanks :D I appreciate the feedback. Yeah those moments were really incredible. Just getting to the boss fight felt incredibly satisfying even before beating them.
Also, for the level 30 proficiency trophy, you can catch runs where it’s just you and one of those things that spawns the kamikaze squids constantly until you kill it. You can just sit there and shoot the squids as long as you want to grind up to the trophy. I ended up doing it this way as I never quite found enough proficiency upgrades to get me to 30.
Yeah without rolling through every level and checking every room, its pretty tough to get level 30 proficiency before you make it to the last boss.
returnal to me is not a game but just a prologue!

i beat the game a while back but i noticed I still haven't completed act 3 yet. idk if this is a glitch or not but i am honestly confused on how to even get to act 3
If you have defeated the last boss, you are now in act 3 😁 I have it covered in the video how to complete it and get the trophy but essentially now you have to go through every biome and collect the six sundial pieces, do the last house sequence after collecting them and then beat the last boss again. You will get a different ending.

i did the same damn thing!! i didnt have slug shot on it either so it was brutal it took me forever but luckily i had auto repair at low integrity which kept me going ... never making that mistake again.
