I've seen these reviewed by a few others ... Theirs and your reviews all point to it being a good starter. I look at it as an upgrade just for the inverter technology being so much smaller as space in my garage is really limited.
Nice review man, keep it up!

that is how they are marketing it ... and i really could not describe this in the video but essentially it seems to be a very good, low cost inverter machinonly e, and it even claims to have to have a 60% duty cycle... my transformer lincolns have a 20%... by all of the specs it is a professional shop ready machine, just being marketed to beginners at an entry level price..

Dag Man, I'm sold! I really haven't gotten beyond a Horrible Freight unit. It's good to see some work on the T. Thanks for the review Bro! ...Newk from Kentucky

I am impressed with it. It’s cheaper than any machine I have bought and I would rather use it than my tried and true lincolns… the controls have so much more fine tuning.

I bought the Hitbox Mp2000I which does what that machine does for $150. Its control panel isn’t as nice but it works well. I also have their little stick welder and although the ground clamp was 6” long it has arc force and will light up 1/8” 7018 without a problem.

I have a Lincoln stick welder that I had refurbished and I have a Lincoln 140 mig that I use with.023 wire for sheet metal. Two years ago I bought a Yes Welder that does stick, lift tig and mig. I run.030 wire on it for heavier stuff. I also have a YesWelder plasma cutter. They are all on two carts except my old ac/dc Lincoln stick. I built a rolling platform for it. Glad to see you’re back on the “T”.

Sometimes spending more money doesn't mean you get a better product. I know that for fact. Been down the road.

    • @betweenthesharksgarage

that is really the worst... when you put hard earned money towards what you believe is a quality product, or name brand to be disappointed or duped... and its really hard to tell... Thats why i appreciate getting to try this stuff out first hand and share thoughts with people who are doing the best research they can to spend their money wisely

Seems like a good deal. If you get a chance to test their tiny portable welder, curious how that tacks out in the wild. A nice tool for fab up something big outside like gates before you need to pull out the real welder and get it done.

I haven’t looked into that one but I am really curious about the tig they have. I love my Lincoln. But it’s maaaaaassssiiivveee

just picked one up. what do you recommend for gauges?

    • @betweenthesharksgarage
      @betweenthesharksgarage  หลายเดือนก่อน

i think you ll like it... I ll run just about any regulator for argon or argon/co2. No matter what you run get in the habit of turning the valve on the bottle off when you are done... every time. Slow leaks are common somewhere in the system and it stinks to come out to an empty tank in the morning. If you ever get into oxy acetylene welding i tend to stick with harris and victor regulators as name brands but for my migs.... i have been running the ones that came with my Lincoln machines for a decade.

I went with the MiG 200 as my first MiG got it on sale a a great price compared to other brands out there exactly 13 months later was welding it shut down and popped a code for over heating the fan wasn’t working I contacted arccaptain thru customer support email after a few emails and pictures checking some things they asked me to do they apologized I had had trouble with it and sent me a new machine. I was extremely impressed with them and would not hesitate to recommend their products. I have since added more products from them.

It’s great to hear a first hand good customer service experience… bummer about the welder. But still if the warranty was honored I would be happy with that personally

Thanks for all the info you provided, great video. I bought the 200 and it will be here tomorrow. What's your feeling on using flux core wire? I've been looking at tanks and it seems I have to buy a tank then trade it in and in the end it's going to cost me between $200 and $250 plus gauges. Are there shops that will just fill a tank if I buy one? Also I'm buying this to fix things here at the house. Is a smaller bottle okay (60 c/f) or do I need an 80 C/F bottle or bigger yet? Thanks again

so this will be controversial, but I hate flux core. There are additional fumes to contend with, to do it right you need to knock the slag off everytime you stop welding...even if you make a tack weld you need to clean it off because if you pass over it it will contaminate the weld- and the slag burning out of the weld makes it harder to see what you are doing. But it does work.
I know...easy for me to say because its your money but i have been there and the investment in the tanks stings but it is worth it. I think if you are new to welding just bite the bullet and get a tank and regulator. You can buy a cheap regulator off amazon and find a store like airgas or pixair or whatever suppliers you have in the area. start with a small tank even 40cf argon/c02 mix it will last a lot longer than you think if turn the valve tank off when you finish welding. Over time i have traded in my small tanks for bigger tanks because i do not move my tanks that much and refilling them is just one extra errand. I think welding with gas is a much more pleasant, it will be easier to see results faster... its a bad analogy but i think fluxcore is like an electric guitar without an amp, you can still play songs and learn, but its probably not quite what you imagined

@@betweenthesharksgarage Thanks so much for your reply. What you said makes sense about the fumes and slag. I think I'll look into the 80 cf tank. I can get one delivered with a 75/25 mix right from Amazon for about $300. I looked into Airgas and they wanted me to set up an account with the history of the world before I could even get prices. Don't need that. I'm retired for God Sakes. Thanks again for all your help I'm looking forward to getting this all set up. I already have project waiting. Have a Merry Christmas. Jody

i think you ll be happy with the money spent ans starting off on the right foot . about the airgas account that is a pain, sometimes you have to just say you want a cash account to bypass all of that stuff. one way or another you are going to have to deal with them, the amazon tank will work fine but if airgas is the only place near by they may only do exchanges not refills (thats how it is around here at least) so you will turn in your tank and get an airgas balled tank in return....just a heads up
