They are very influenced by the misfts, so most (if not all) of Horror punk, psychobilly, deathrock, horrorbilly, etc scenes. Misfits were and are monsters of punk, but it doesn't mean bands like this are flawless copies. I love Balzac ! Great japanese punk !

have you heard of the zodiac killer? from the bay arean in california? he had some copycats too... but anyway, balzac is influenced by him a lot and he wore a black cloth headdress that looked a lot like a paper bag. those matrix-like symbols were written by the original zodiac killer. so that's where that comes from
