I grew up in Colorado Springs and used to take day trips to Cripple Creek and Victor. Back in the 1970's both towns were quickly becoming ghost towns. Victor more so than Cripple Creek. In 1990 Colorado legalized limited gambling in three mining towns, Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek. This brought life back to the areas and kept them alive. It is great to see that there is some life returning to Victor.

Jeff I just watched a film doc on Goldfields Guide channel about a state of the art mill in South Dakota with all footage from 1930s you would love it,it seems they sure liked the quicksilver back then
they used mercury all the time ...in fact they use it in dental fillings ...but for some reason now it is worse than spent fuel rods from a nuclear power plant
Hey Professor, our property is near the old Sheridan mine in North Central Washington. Come have a look some time. Before it gets cold, REAL COLD! Good video as usual.
thanks
