    Nice one. Thanks for posting it.
    Just one small detail may be worth mentioning. The brake fluid reservoir should be detached and pushed to the side, otherwise the removal of the air filter box would be quite difficult, and putting it back would be impossible. Yours appears to have been previously relocated, which is why it gave you no trouble.

    My battery packed up so was ringing around garages for them to supply and fit a new battery. £200 thought there was no way I was paying that so I ordered a decent Varta battery and watched your video, saved myself £90. Only really awkward part for me was the wires on the negative terminal, could not get them off so just eased them off with the terminal cable.. Would never have attempted it if I did not watch your video thats for sure.

    Just to clarify the battery reset procedure: Is it ignition on, then press rear fog button 5 times, then the hazards 3 times, wait for the battery light to flash. When flashing stops turn off ignition OR is it ignition on, press rear fog button on AND off 5 times, then press hazards 3 times on AND off, wait for battery light to flash. When flashing stops turn off ignition. ALSO do both buttons need to be pressed quickly i.e.in a given amount of time. Am I right in assuming date and time can be reset anytime or does it have to be done imediately after thew battery reset? Thanks

    Hello! Thanks for that video as I was looking for a way to disconnect the battery as I have a head bulb to change. Now, one question, (I know it might look like a dumb question) do I absolutely have to disconnect the battery to change my dipped beam head bulb? Changing the bulb is very easy and it looks like a hassle to just disconnect the battery for that 😢

    You do NOT need to remove the wipers and the trim. That's a load of crap. You can easily remove the front panel of the battery box then the battery lifts out at a 45 degree angle. I've done it twice on our 2010 Kuga.

My Fitbit does get a bit scratched and I have to take it off for tight jobs. If I took it off every time I was doing a job it would get damaged I’d never be wearing it.

      It won’t force you to reset it. The reset tells the car a new battery has been fitted so it knows not to overcharge it, I think the cars compensate more for older batteries.

  • @lewis72
    @lewis72 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just finished doing this.
    *Two points:*
    *1) **2:57** You only have to unbolt the LHS securing bracket bolt. I didn't touch the RH bolt, I just rotated the bracket arm 90 degrees out of the way.*
    *2) Lower spec Kugas, without Stop/Start, have a shorter battery (i.e. front to back as installed, width as most people would call it; the dimension through the two terminals to the outer edges. Due to this, there is a plastic wedge in the base of the battery tray, which needs to be removed if you're installing a full size battery.*

    • @granvillebashleigh7612
      @granvillebashleigh7612 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a 2019 ST-Line with Stop/Start but it has the shorter battery (278mm), fitted from new as far as I know. Does that mean you can fit the larger battery (317mm). It is such a pain to take everything out to see the battery tray. Bit worried about the BMS as the battery is a higher spec. The manual says replace with the same spec. The Stop/Start no longer works all I get is a greyed out symbol on the dash I think the battery is on the way out.

    • @lewis72
      @lewis72 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@granvillebashleigh7612
      The battery tray is common.
      At the rear of the battery tray, there is a slot where a plastic wedge was inert, so that the shorter battery can butt up against that and be clamped down.
      Removing the wedge (it just slides out) allows the battery to go further back into the tray).

    • @granvillebashleigh7612
      @granvillebashleigh7612 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lewis72 Thanks for that, I wondered why battery suppliers all gave two different sizes as alternatives. I didn't know Ford had just stuck a plastic spacer wedge in there, without taking out all the stuff out to have a look you would never know.

    • @IAMASPANNER

      Glad to help! I didn’t know it was a thing until this job, don’t really work on Fords that often. Apparently it affects how the car keeps the battery charged.

      You’re welcome! Just make sure the place where you’re buying the battery from know that your car is start stop as the battery is a different type.

    Si llego a saber antes como hay que cambiar la bateria no compro el coche. Menudo fallo de diseño.
