I also get annoyed when authors preach.
The line between preaching and conveying a message in fiction is very fine. I agree that preachy novels are annoying.
Yes- I want to know their message- I don’t want to feel like I must agree and I especially don’t want to feel like they think I wouldn’t figure out what they were saying. 🤣 although I think there have been books I did put down and think “I don’t get it” ha!

Excellent! I agree that in general , I like fictional characters to have a certain subtlety, showing us what they believe rather than having the author spell it out. And I really support your bookish-things-are-not-annoying approach!
I also am a bit strange that I truly love the quirky prints , annotations and markings, deckled edges etc. gotta pick your battles what’s worth getting worked up about 🤣 have a blessed day!
I'm a mood reader but I also get annoyed when I get choice paralysis in front of my very full bookshelves. 😂😂

oh man yes! decision paralysis when it comes to choosing the next book for me to read is so bad sometimes that i just end up not reading. i for sure get annoyed with myself then

Ha ha!!! I don’t do many tags and when I do I seem to not always play by the set rules. But it doesn’t annoy me I simply adjust it- ha ha ha!! Keep finding what works for ya!
