I met up with Jeff Genzler when he still had Genz Benz. I spoke with him at his shop, which at the time was in Scottsdale, AZ. Very nice and was very informative. His wife was from Brooklyn and and requested to be closer to family, so that is where his new company is located. I am originally from Brooklyn and Staten Island. What a small world. I am thrilled that he is still putting out great products!!!
I am a guitarist and I usually just play these bass videos to hear you guys play but I ignore the sound because it all sounds a bit like well executed farts and fret slaps but as I listened to this video, the basses came through with something special, more clarity and girth, in short, these amps are superb! The sound difference was so noticeable that it caught my attention even though I wasn't watching the video, I was just listening to the jams and the sound made me stop the video and come back to see what you were playing through, these are what I will get when I can spend some dough on a bass amp!
I have a Genz Benz 600 with a tube preamp into an Accugroove Whappo Junior. Great tone! I bought it about 10 or 12 years ago. The amp was new and the cab used and everything just came together in my favorite shop at a time when I had the money and needed to step up from an Ashdown Mag 200 combo. It has served me well. Genzler has always been at the cutting edge while delivering excellent quality for a reasonable price.
I love my Genz-Benz shuttle. It's the best amp I've ever owned (14 yrs now!). It's great for bass guitar and upright. If I ever need to replace it, it will be with whatever Jeff Genz is producing at the time.
I keep coming back but not for the bass amps or cabinets-this is all about the jam session. Wow, you guys are really on a roll and you are punishing those riffs (in a good way)! 💯😎
I'm a 6-string gtrist, but I enjoy these bass vids so thoroughly! In fact you guys made me buy a Yamaha TRBX 304, damnit. Screeching lead noodling lacks the focus you fellows bring to your show.
Those shuttles are great amps. Eden WT series is another favorite of mine. Lee is right I was amazed when I picked up a MB NY151 and didn't have a hernia. Sounded great too.
My upright bassist uses two of these stacked and they are amazing. I know upright bass is not popular but it's essential for our music. Just saying they are worth the money.
Ummm Fender did to Genz Benz what they did to SWR. Bought them out made a lot of Promises, Then put them out of Business like they have done so many others
Both these guys remind me of pro race car drivers...trying to talk showcase the Mechanics of race cars.. wow, they can play, but I'm yet to hear/see them demo , an actual bass tone.. be it slap, country, rock, blues, metal..ect. They consistently ' twiddle ' knobs, with no intention of attempting to create a bass 'sound'.. Great players...there are lots, but I want to know what the item can do..

Please warn in advance next time....imagine your child having a nut allergy and accidentally chomping on cunningly concealed cashews in a tin of alphabetty spaghetti....

Finally came thru and bought a Genzler Magellan 800 bass amp today on November 16, 2020.
Feb 2021 my first Genzler is on the way!

Lee killed it on that opening jam. It made me want a Genz Benz rig more than a Genzler (and I already own a Genzler Magellan 350).

I like how these guys speak quickly compared to the captain/chappers/Pete/Bea/etc. Guess bassists just appreciate timing more...
