    If you get one of these without the nav it’s a perfect timeless car. All money was spent on over engineering things you won’t ever see. The best built car before needless amenities and computers took over. An absolute tank.

    In the back ground of this video we heard: a Harley with custom exhaust, a Cessna 172 flyover at low altitude, what appeared to be an F1 race off in the distance, a competitive ATV competition, and a motocross bike (with custom exhaust) doing top speed runs.. just playin man really appreciate the video/points as I’m in the market for one, really curious to know how common the failure is on the air ride suspension.

    Considering buying a 2006 with only 42k miles. Owner has kept it garaged so its in immaculate condition. It won’t exactly be cheap at $17k though. I could get one much cheaper with high miles, but then I face inheriting more issues.

    I've had five of these cars. Including the Ultra. Ultra had leaky shocks I had to replace. The others the only issue I ever had was the door actuators. Every single car had at least one that failed! Other than that I had 597,000 miles on one, 386,000 on another, 259,000 on one, 327,000 on another and I'm at 168,000 on the one I'm driving now. General maintenance was timing belt, water pump every 100k plugs and wires 100k oil every 15,000 miles I used Mobil 1 extended performance and I only use NAPA PREMIUM SYNTHETIC OIL FILTERS!!! I have done extensive research on this no one compares... Don't ever ever ever use a FRAM oil filter!!! But ya brakes also but that's it. Best car low cost you can use toyota parts and service so it's inexpensive to run. I use premium fuel but sometimes will use mid grade. I have used regular but I don't think it runs as well. Maybe it's in my own mind.. but ya. The best all around comfortable car ever made in my opinion.

    I bought an '01 a few months back and the guy I bought it from must have watched this cause just about all of these things had been upgraded or replaced already. I love these cars so much, they do their job impeccably well and they're so under the radar. I have always wanted wanted the LS 430 for the ride and perfection of the engineering. Will get a 04-06 LS 430 maybe in the next year or two. (still not getting rid of the 330 as nothing is wrong with it, also have an Avalon hybrid) Is there a better year from 2004 to 2006 ( I guess the answer is they're all about the same, but just wondering if you have an opinion on that) I know i want to skip the air suspension.

    Major thing to remember when purchasing a car that is over a decade old is that you are buying the owner, not the car itself. I got mine from a measly owner who skipped oil changes and took poor care of the car. Here I am 3 years later and paying exactly the amount I paid for the car itself to get it to almost stock condition including the engine rebuild. 150k miles and had to have a 3UZ-FE rebuilt! My repairs and maintenance journal goes on and on so, guys, check your car thoroughly. I know the maintenance history in the US is very clear and you can check it, but in other countries not that much. Also, in poor climates, check for rust and underside conditions. And tell you what - after all these repairs, it is still a great car, an amazing ride, a powerful tank that I still love and don't want to set..

Hood and trunk lift assist shocks, valve cover gaskets, lock actuators, air shocks on any vehicle with air ride suspension, LED taillights.....the list goes on and on. Let's be real here, The last LS430 was made in 2006, so these cars are SEVENTEEN TO TWENTY THREE years old. How about doing some videos on a Jaguar or a Land Rover! Nice video! I have a 2004 UL 80,000 miles. Something I figured out that other owners may want to know. The I AGREE SCREEN. I also find any navigation system in a vehicle that does not connect to my phone useless. Go into settings on the touch screen and turn off the display screen. When you start the car the Lexus logo will appear and the screen will go blank after a few seconds with no I AGREE message ever appearing. If you push climate control or audio you can make any adjustments or changes you want and after about 10 seconds the screen will go blank again. However if you use the map/navigation the display screen will go back to default on.

    How did Lexus/ Toyota engineers screw up the door actuators dependability after creating the most dependable v8 engine on the planet????

      Dima Maletsky they really don’t beyond power mirrors and door lock actuators, tilt steering wheel motors. Valve cover gaskets sometimes leak a little bit. Starters go sometimes. These are cars that will easily go 400k+.

    • @MrEenieQWolverine
      @MrEenieQWolverine 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I recently purchased a 2004 LS439 and guess what? A broken passenger side power mirror and a bad driver's door lock actuator so the car must be locked and unlocked manually. The cost at a dealership or body shop for a new passenger side power mirror is $560 for a pre-painted one WITHOUT the actual mirror glass which must be reused from the old unit. If it should break during removal, new glass is around an additional $400. The good news is that you can get one on eBay, including the mirror glass and pre painted to your car's color for a little under $200.

      @@KylePantano the lock and unlock function on the exterior door handles only works about half of the time, even though the car recognizes that my key is near by. I had the dealership replace the key batteries and that didn't work so I had them program a brand lexus key fob and that hasn't solved the issue either. The unlock button on my key fob will unlock my driver's door but most times will not work to unlock the remaining doors. The smart access buttons under the steering wheel were reset so that's not the issue and I've also held my lock and trunk buttons to program the smart touch panel to unlock all four doors when touched (3 chimes). The strangest part is the interior lock button works every time. No one can diagnose the issue and it's seriously the worst part of this car.

    That cheap ML stereo CD jams. I hate ML. Bose is tops. And the telescope steering will stop if used a lot. Those are the two items on mine and a tiny muffler leak in the very rear drivers side which I need to fix these three things. My car only has 115,000 miles and it’s an 05 LS 430. I take excellent care and it’s always garaged and heated to 65 in winter. So I’ve been very satisfied. I do need new rear trunk struts as they are getting harder to lift. Most cars hit 100,000 and the person has already spent 3000-6000 dollars on broken issues!!!
