@Curt Christensen I disagree with Curt only because of the time the show portrayed. He was blatant at times but selective re: who he acted this way in front of. It was hard to hear nonetheless.
The look on Bobbys face, He thought his ears were playing tricks on him when that looney said he would confess to two murders for two litres of regular Coca Cola.
The actor playing Wendy's brother deserved an Emmy for this performance. From the spittle at 2:19 to his delight at the fizz of his second liter, it's a memorable walk down a dark hall. His twitchy mouth and squinting nose as he says, " Would ya give me a liter? " Brilliant! I particularly like the expressions on Bobby and Andy at 2:40. They are looking at him like a mongoose looks at a hooded cobra. A perfectly executed role. It still haunts me to this day.
His name is Sam Whipple and he starred in a short-lived comedy series in the '80s called "Open All Night". He played the doofy son of the manager of an all-night convenience store and he was a riot!
had a guy give it up after Wendie's burger, fries, chocolate shake in drive thru. said he knew it was his last. 10 bucks for miranda witnessed signed confession.
The character actors on NYPD Blue were exceptionally good. But Sam Whipple's portrayal of Willy was extraordinary. I saw the original episode, " A box of Wendy, " on TV and his turn as a nonchalant murderer stuck with me for years. The way he says, " Adieu " is chilling. Just a casual, callous throwaway line. All Franz had to do was sit back, loose the reins and let this guy have his head. Also notable are Andy and Simone's reactions to Willy. Despite what they have seen over the years, even they seem quietly horrified by Willy ! Riveting performance.
This scene is hilarious, one of the best scenes of NYPD. The guy playing the criminal Nailed it. The chemistry between Bobby and Andy, and this guy was 10 out of 10... After Bobby died, NYPD blue died with him.
NYPD Blue was already dying before Jimmy Smits decided to leave the show. David Milch had become impossible to work with any longer. Originally the show was a COP show. Gritty and hard boiled. It turned into a soap opera. Like every other show on TV.
There was one where he found a kidnapped girl in the season finale. There was another one where they rescued a kidnapped child in the Christmas episode - "From Hare to Eternity." I don't remember if it was a boy or girl. There was another one where they found the body of a kidnapped boy - "NYPD Lou." I don't have any of these, but season 1 is my favorite season.
@@gsd4me00 I believe the artist was Grant Wood, David. He used his dentist and sister as the models. It's called American Gothic because of the architecture of the house.
@@jamesdrynan. That may be the case, but google "Norman Rockwell paintings" and look for the painting of a farmer and his wife outside their house to see what I am talking about.
Dennis Franz should've won an Emmy every season.

Bobby Simeone and his blue overcoat

but they gave him four litres of coca cola it appears. why they did that?
@@daktarioskarvannederhosen2568 2 liters, 2 murders, 4 liters, 4 murders then? Seems like a fair trade 👍
@@55Quirll well, he axked for only 1 litre in total in exchange for 2 murder stories...
@@daktarioskarvannederhosen2568 True, maybe the extra 2 liters were to really open him up 👍
@@55Quirll Lolz yea that may well be.
He really does look like the guy from that painting with the wife and the pitchfork. Lol 🤣🤣🤣
Lmao. He does
The painting is titled, American Gothic.
Imagine this guy trying to buy Coke on the street, “NO not cocaine! I WANT MY F**KING Coca-Cola!”
The guy playing the psychopath did an outstanding acting job here!

I worked with a guy just like that...dark human
@@thomasthomas2418 Thanks, Thomas! I looked him up. Died of cancer in 2002. An amazing performance here. Chilling and mesmerizing.
He was a great actor !!!
Sipowitz's face during the confession is priceless.
You can see in Andy's eyes he's using everything. He can not to beat the guy to death.
Sheesh, why so grim, Andy?! This guy is, in a way, a dream come true.
Fucking beautiful! Thank you, Grant Wood and David Milch.

I agree entirely. The absolutely Nails the character of Willy. Kudos to the actress that played Josh's mother also. Good casting
He is a dark individual indeed, and its scary to think, they're out there
Just hope you don't meet one.
Omg, yes
They're out there? Uhm, this is fictional.

Sip best Partners. 1 Bobby 2 Clark 3. Danny 4 John Kelly.
That's fascinating, that those are your your preferences, in order, stranger from the Internet.
The man HAD to have his COKE! Not Pepsi, not Diet Coke, COKE! Lots and LOTS of COKE!!!
BTW- Willy asks for 2 liters. He actually got 4 liters because those are two liter bottles.
Also an edit fail. Simone hands him a 7-up but the shot of it hitting the table it's a Diet Coke. Still brilliant.
I don't want a large Farva...I want a liter of cola!

There were some really good episodes with Rick Schroeder and the other guy. But Simone was the best.
I grew up in Souh Jersey - we always pronounced it Brig-a-teen Beach
love this show
Sipowicz is the man! Too bad they’re talking about having him murdered in the sequel series
He could be a ghost like Bobby was to Andy
What do you mean
An amazing scene
Perp: "You gonna beat me?"
Andy: "Hmm I never said that but sounds like a good idea so I just might do that"
If you're gunna quote the actor's lines at least get them correct.

I love watching these 2 work cases.. Best was the tommy Richardson thing, the cop who killed the nurse but tried to cover it up..
I feel his pain. I also love Coca-Cola.
Weird product placement.
Since when have they used litres (correct English language spelling) in the US, I thought it was all ounces and quarts?
For some strange reason Coke comes in litres in the U.S. It's one of the great mysteries of life.
What Willy calls liters are actually 2L. A metric loving Canadian
That's 4 liters he asked for 2 liters.
See Sam Whipple in the sitcom "Open All NIght".
He is hilarious.

Worst Coke commercial ever.
Call it a hunch, but I don't think this guy liked Wendy very much. Anyone?
Man, coca cola is amazing stuff 😋. But I wonder what they had to pay yo have Real coke in this episode.
im not saying i would kill my sister but 2 litters of coke idk???
Bad quality vid
i was gonna put this scene up but you beat me to it lLOL
